  1. Photos to be added or I can email to anyone interested. F2F sale preferred or willing to meet up with anyone genuinely interested at a reasonable distance.
  2. I suffered arthritis in my wrist and was told the problem was at the base of my thumb - the trapezoid bone I think it was called. I was offered the choice of an artificial joint or removal of the joint and immobilised in plaster for about eight weeks while the scar tissue heals and holds everything together. I choose against the replacement joint and have had no problems since (about 10 years) and have not really experienced any less mobility. I was told to expect a weaker grip but not noticed any difference as my grip was probably weakened with the arthritis. No problems with a normal O/U shotgun grip. Good luck, however you play it.
  3. I agree a lot of potential landlords will be put off. It remains to be seen what conditions will justify terminating a tenancy. How much damage and abuse, or rent arrears, will a landlord have to endure. I previously rented out a house and the state some left the house in was disgusting whilst others were faultless. One thing I learnt quickly was regular inspections were a must.
  4. You won't need a shooting wagon in 10 years if the anti's and the government get their way - there won't be any shooting. Well, not legally.
  5. Sorry to hear of GMK's reaction but that is actually the dealer's problem. You paid the dealer for the gun so your legal contract is with him. First step is surely to refuse to accept the gun back from the dealer and ask for a replacement or refund. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted.
  6. I replaced the hard pad on a Winchester Select with an Inflex pad and found it far more comfortable to shoot. Also bear in mind there is likely to be differences in the two guns you're looking at in addition to the butt pads. I believe the later guns will have lighter barrels but someone will be along to confirm this. Good luck whatever you choose.
  7. Eastern Sporting were using Brian Farr who is based on Foulness Island near Southend-on-Sea. Also in the south of Essex is Jim Davies based in Orsett if he is still working - both Brian and Jim are well past normal retirement age.
  8. Thank you for your kind words. I'm only selling it because I am suffering reoccurring shoulder problems and the pain is outweighing the pleasure shooting. I'm quite happy to travel maybe 50 miles each way to meet up if this helps any potential buyers.
  9. Sounds like bending the trigger guard is the least of problems. First you've got to get the stock to fit the action and that needs a precise fit given the recoil forces that go through it. Good luck and hope it all goes well.
  10. How will you get on when your cab is replaced with a battery powered which is the present thinking. Even if they go petrol hybrid in future it will be a big jump in commuting costs.
  11. Well said, You've got more chance to see a clay early with the gun down.
  12. According to Met police website the marketing for this was placed with Corporate Document Services Ltd. They quote a director of Smartwater who happens to hold the Queens Police Medal! The website also names the senior officers responsible for the campaign.
  13. I ordered from PSHQ some time ago. After waiting 3 months I requested a refund which was dealt with promptly. After another 2 months the chokes arrived - sent from USA so I was expected to pay import duty plus Royal Mail handling charge. I just refused to accept them as I had already been refunded. When I placed the order I understood they would be sent from within the EU so no additional charges. Not so cheap at the end of the day
  14. Speak to Helen Withey at Norfolk Dog Training Centre. She breeds and works Tollers.
  15. Check with your insurer before changing to steel rims from alloys or vice versa. Sounds petty but insurers will use anything to avoid a claim payout.
  16. A forum member on here is a former employee of the CPSA and can shed a lot of light on their past endeavours, mainly bad. It's a pity he has not chosen to contribute to this thread, assuming he has seen it.
  17. Correct answer. It seems to be a common misconception that a gun has to be covered in a public place. Common sense yes but legal - no.
  18. Kent bought out Gamebore in 1998. Since then the Kent brandname has been used in UK for the budget Gamebore range. According to my local RFD they Have been replaced by Gamebore Velocity 29gm 6 and Velocity+ 28gm 7.5.
  19. Why not just ask if you can fix an upright storage cupboard to the wall for safety to ensure it can't topple over. You're just being economical with the truth.
  20. Alternate Sunday mornings - St. Marys Lane, Upminster near Cranham Golf Course.
  21. Before Christmas I wrote to the PCC in Essex regarding the long renewal delays (16 weeks quoted). I made a point of highlighting the limitations imposed on Section 7 temp certs such as the inability to borrow a gun or purchase a replacement. I suggested this was like sending my driving licence in for an address change and being issued with a temporary one which allowed me to drive only the car currently registered to me. Last week I received a reply from Essex Police. The complaint had been passed to them as it was an operational matter. Their reply just blamed workload on the delays and said if I wanted to purchase a gun I should place a deposit on one at the RFD and ask him to email the licensing office so they could "possibly" expedite my renewal - just creating work for the RFD with no guarantee of a successful outcome. I am left thinking my complaint was a waste of time.
  22. Perhaps the gunship was outside territorial waters
  23. Perhaps we can have a matching topic - what you've regretted buying.
  24. What happened to the improved service we would get when the prices went up? Does anyone have any experience of better or worse service in the areas where licencing has been contracted out?
  25. Sorry if I wasted your time posting. The website states no stock is held in UK. I have prerviously ordered direct from States - took 3 weeks to arrive and had to pay duty and Royal Mail's charge for collecting the duty. Worked out about dollar to pound straight conversion. I believe the Brownells UK operation is run by the same company who previously traded as Midway UK.
