Yea quite a lump of a fox…we were going to leave it but it killed a barn owl a few weeks ago so it had to go…

Thx, I don't do any Stalking round your end but did round Tosside and do round Settle way, plenty of Sika in Gisburn Forest.  I used to have access to a rough shoot in Waddington with a friend about 40 years ago, a lovely part of the country.

Yea it’s nice and quiet..ideal for the dogs

I am 15 minutes away from Waddington, don't want any specifics obviously but how close are the Munties to you distance wise?

Apparently Preston way on, I’ve seen 2 myself near alderly edge. Some other stalkers claim there in Carlisle area as well… if your this way over I’m sure you  will have seen all the Sika around us.

Fines for white birds are a pathetic means of extracting cash from the guns, even more so if they are put down just for this reason.

Fines to genuinely discourage guns from shooting locally rare game such as wild grey partridge or black game is understandable, but fined for shooting a common as muck released bird is beyond a joke.  I am incredulous that the modern game shot goes along with this malpractice.

I tend to agree, on some of the shoots ive been on its a £10 fine or a round of drinks in the pub for a bit of banter

At least with Cornwall you get the choice of coasts. I recall hopping from North to South that year, trying to find a dry spot.

That’s what I’m hoping to do, hopefully the weather will be kind to us, I’ve found 2 campsites that I will book as soon as they say we can which is 4th July, then hopefully a couple more weeks after that we will be on our way... looking at the news this evening things look to be going the rite way..and in just under a month things could be so much better.. ( as said tho if not safe to travel we won’t be going)...

There are no designated spots or beaches in in Cornwall, the police will wake you up at 5am and move you on if you try to stop anywhere.. That's what they are doing at the moment. Generally speaking the locals don't want visitors down there and you could encounter a surprisingly negative reception..

Even my stepdaughter who works at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is getting comments made to her because she has a London accent

Still a month away yet and I’ll be keeping a close eye on things and if it’s still a closed shop to visitors we won’t be going, phoned a few tourist information places and they said by then it should be all open, on the internet lots of campsites opening on the 15th July, so could be ok..
