  1. Anyone know the email address for Will Beasley of Thames Valley Pigeon Shooting - I think it's pagsbol@aol.com but would appreciate if anyone could confirm that here. Of if Will logs on later, perhaps you could send instructions to your place to : xpresursel@yahoo.com Many thanks.
  2. You can say that again feller, more like a mothers' convention here, handbags at ten paces.
  3. To see the main 6 photos of all the bits and bobs go to our website and send us an email. the photos will be sent to you ASAP. For the newcomers here, how about a URL or google search here to have a peek. Many thanks.
  4. What are the thoughts of the members on a pigeon close season. Do most people here shoot all year round or do some hang up the 'long-iron' for a few months?
  5. A sensible and interesting response Gary, thanks. As someone who has no option but to use guides, (I live in London and I've not had an opportunity to join a club or affiliate) I can see the issue from both sides. Customer satisfaction, like any other business, is all about setting client expectations. Quite how any particular guide does this is up to them, but clearly, 400 cartridges for a single day, is by any stretch of the imagination, exceeding all expectations! By virtue of someone taking 400 shells out on a day, should clearly indicate to a guide that expectations need set. A subtle word may have prevented disappointment at the end of the day. In the meantime, I'll continue to use guides and value the service they provide. Those of you who think nothing about walking onto land for a day, think next time of those shooters who have no such opportunity. I've never gone out with more than 100 shells, I've never run out and I've never been disappointed. Shooting is as much about being out in the country, for those of us living in towns, as it is about large bags.
  6. As for the guy who started this thread who commented about poor service and few pigeons please post your real name up here and when you came. I was over at your place about October last year. I may have been a little unfair about you, since you did not take me out, you were in bed with a hangover. Your dad took me out. I get very few guys who come on the £40 option who really have the proper equipment and skills needed to catch the pigeons here at this time of year. My understanding was, at the time, that equipment and all would be provided for £40. Clearly there was a misunderstanding. Anyway their failure was due to the fact that they had poor equipment, poor fieldcraft techniques and were absolutely bloody useless all round. Without entering into a discussion about it Will, the ploughed field I was put on, with a dozen dead birds would not have attracted, I don't know what! I had to move position, from where I was put, in order to get a shot. I did not have a single bird look at the 'coys but instead shot under a flight line - flying from one plantation of trees to another. I've been shooting pigeons for 20 years so I think I've enough craft to get me by. Having said all that, I'd NEVER complain about getting a shot. I just like to get out and whatever happens, happens. There are plenty of pigeons about your place and you've a good set and I'm sure I'll be back. I'll give you my name then when I meet you in person.
  7. I see you've removed that post. Somewhat bizarre that such a claim was made. Anyway, I was looking for a bit od chat and advice on pigeon shooting, I'll perhaps pop in later. Cheers!!
  8. Well that answers one question then, he does have a site! BTW I didn't think I'd said anything to offend, if I have I'm sure you could point it out. Well that's good news because I'm planning another day down there. I have to say that he did have a lot of land available and there were plenty of pigeons - I just didn't see many on my one and only visit.
  9. As far as I am aware they do not have one but do have an email address. pabspag:aol.com £110 / day shooting pigeons over their best land!!! Quite a bit of cash for pigeons and if Will gets some business out of this post, I want a discount!!!! BTW, if you fancied going over there one weekend I'd go as well. I met a few lads last time and they were spot on. Very enthusiastic!!
  10. Hi Cranfield, some time ago, when I first registered some of your members mentioned Will Beasley and Thames Valley pigeon shooting (live). I went along and had a poor day, few pigeons and poor service for my £40! I wanted to know if anyone has been recently as they still advertise in Shooting Times. Basically I want to get out again but since I live in London, I am restricted because I don't know any land owners or clubs, nor similar pigeon shooting services within an hour or so drive of north or East London. I'm sure I've seen Will Beasley (the TV club organiser) contribute to this message board.
  11. Anyone used the Thames Valley pigeon shoot recently? Anyone know of a similar set up but east or north of London?
