  1. You cannot do that with a straight swap if you have `one directional tyres' fitted ,. it would have to be moved to same side front or rear ...not across the axle ... or - tyres off rims and switch rims - refit .
  2. I can hear the words now : " sorry mate, I didn`t see you " , , but yes , fuddster is near spot on with the pricing.
  3. On a note aside ; you really shouldn`t include the RFLT -(road fund licence tax) into the sale price anymore , its bad form old chap .. because when you sell the vehicle it will not transfer to the new owner. The new registered keeper has to tax it now before it goes on the road legally. Any remaining full months it had left will be refunded to you upon V5c being re-registered to new keeper or sorn . , so to reflect your asking price, you may want to adjust as necessary. hth. Nothing wrong with Gumtree or ebay. I Have sold vehicles within 12 & 24 hrs on both . People will refine their own searches when looking for something particular.
  4. Cheers mel , top banana You have pm with a ps note.
  5. Can I have No. 19 (nineteen) please mel , pm details and i`ll sort asap .
  6. Hi, as mentioned above by someone , the relay takes the `load' (high amperage current) from the switch contacts , to prevent shorting and melting the switch plastics / wiring that encompass the very small . When you flick the switch, you get a sudden current load from the vehicle electrics as the switch contacts connect. . # When you flick the switch on to allow current to pass ,--- imagine it as flicking your left ball with your thumb - it`s gonna hurt - -- now think of the relay as a cushion between your thumb and said left ball - it takes the pressure away and acts as a protector.
  7. Same old same old . We`ve been saying that to the powers above for more than 10 years in our area, Seems its cheaper to send out a man in a van to make an assessment on each event than it is to do contractual on-going pre maintenance.. . Its not surprising that the Environment Agency are prepping to step away and disband from Flood controls and hand it back to local Council Authority. . Where there`s a blame ,,,,,,,,,,
  8. ^^^ this ^^^ , I have a car that was constantly wet misting on the inside . 3 socks of silica Cat litter later and ive not had any interior window moisture in weeks, and we`ve been having 3/4 degree damp cold mornings for the last fortnight .

  12. I use a l/r cranked starting handle and slowly crank it over following the sequence of firing order and the valves rocking . With the battery disconnected. Call me olde skool , but them starting handles do come in useful sometimes.
  13. looks like there`s one or three recalls so far this year on the Disco, depending on your VIN Start/End date. linky link :> http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp?whichpage=5&pagesize=10&resultString=(LAND%20ROVER%20DISCOVERY)%20%20for%20the%20date%20range%2001/Jan/1992%20to%2001/Dec/2016&tx=
  14. Well , we now no more in the EU ,, crack on and get em shipped over, lets play
  15. I can answer that imo, - No - the irresponsible thing is not to ensure you have a current form of breakdown cover as a safeguard, should it be required if not a spare carried. . Saying that, many people - and i mean Many , either do not know how to change a spare / or feel uneasy to change it - or are physically unable to change it or think its illegal to change it, , - OR - the location / situation / position deems it through thought process /events /time /location Unsafe to make that attempt at that time/location. or the equipment they are carrying is not useable/suitable. . That said, it is not a requirement nor a legal requirement to carry one. ( here, i will use a motorcycle as an example - thus, giving car/vehicle manufacturers a precident not to fit one). as well as space limitations / weight reduction/ want to charge you extra for accessories, blah blah. . As mentioned above prior, many marques of vehicles and manufacturers no longer fit and supply a spare wheel within the vehicle, beit full size or a space saver. Even hire car company vehicles often come with that silly can of spray and a compressor - no spare tyre/ wheel. . On a M`way, where there is a likelyhood of a hard shoulder in some areas / or a safety refuge area - a reasonable time period may be allowed to make your own arrangements for recovery and to be gone. ie 2hrs , but as now, many Motorways are being revamped and turned into Smart M`ways - thus illiminating a hard shoulder because there isn`t one on that stretch of road. If the vehicle cant move to a refuge under its own steam safely - the vehicle and its occupants and contents will be removed at your cost irrespective of cover or not for roads safety reasons. On any other road (a - b road) , providing you can park it safely out of harms way and off the carriageway - beyond the white line markings vergeside if there is one, extended periods - even many days. Abandon it where there is a safety/security risk, and you will find it gone asap at your cost. . In a high proportion of instances, just because the tyre has deflated / delaminated/ sidewalled/holed , does not mean the vehicle is not moveable to a safer location beit a vergeside / layby / gateway / refuge area / services / road exit. Yes , one does not want to possibly damage a rim ( they are expensive) but a rim can be replaced - a life cannot. . .Think ! Be safe ! Be covered !
  16. ,,,,,, and the reason the frames are on short supply is because everyone keeps chopping them up to make bobbers . Keep up the good work dude , she looks mighty fine .. Sometimes less is more , too much clutter and they start to look generic . . Thinking of hard tailing my 650 trumpet , if anyone has a bolt-on tail frame spare knocking around ? donations gratefully received
  17. Sounds like fuel pump issue, the pickup pipe has a tea bag type filter on the end of it. These OE fuel pumps are well known to breakdown and cause fault. The fact you say its ok standing still but then creates when driving - fuel slosh /crud in tank and the pump cant cope in sucking up the fuel during motion. . I appreciate the value of expenditure you are laying out in order to resolve the problem , but, try going for an up-rated fuel pump and clean the lines out and replace the fuel filter/s when/if you fit a new pump. cheaper than an oe dealer prices and can cope up to 300 bhp . . Its a sytec intank pump, you can buy this uprated pump direct from pumabuild online. about £105.00 . . If you havent done so already, do an OBD2 code read and note down any/if fault/s codes thrown up and reset , just incase it throws up a lambda /maf sensor fault , but i doubt it - Worth buying or borrowing an Autel MaxiScan OBD2/EOBD reader, with this you can read info` and do a live run monitor check with it still plugged in - and yes you can check the mph reading too - just scroll through the menus. .Alternatively - purchase a plug-in bluetooth OBD2 adapter and download one of the free OBD2 smartphone app`s. Easier with a generic Android smartphone, as iphone`s dont like the adapters (iphones are very choosey on what bluetooth items they will connet to). Just remember to make sure the Ignition is OFF when you plug in and unplug. . If its the lambda sensor - £78. off amazon hth

  19. So I was right when I said check the fuses then
  20. ok , sounds like you have the automatic opening rear door (5th) which they did 2008 . 1. Can you hear it clunking at the solenoids / lock mechanism at the rear door when you press key fob or dash keys ? if not , have you checked the fuses for tailgate ? . Try checking /replacing F25 fuse . # fuse boxes located here + here :
  21. erm , with respect sir , I didnt say it needed a chain guard for MOT , I said `out of preference' , having been round bikes for longer than i can remember , - it still makes a mess if you snag your flappy trousers in the chain or it snaps .. and your right , rear reflector is a `catcher' ,,, but i think that led unit has it built in in the centre point - beit small - i have a similar unit fitted
  22. Given the MOT tester has said its his discretion whether it gets pass or fail - id say there`s your answer . He is a DVSA trained assessor and has the relevant certification accredited to it. Why would you bother what a street bobby says ? Even the RPU`s struggle to keep up with relevant Eu reg`s - the sooner we`re out ' the better. If the decibels fall within tolerances - crack on youth . . . nice little pooter above too would prefer a chain guard though - makes quite a mess of your jeans and leg if owt appens lad
  23. If the 2 person thing doesnt work , try what he said above ^^^^^^^^^^^
