  4. No William that is a load of tosh, we used to keep 4 Jills and my pet ferret George a massive playful Hob. They were only mated once for the whole of their lives.
  5. They are going in too bloody well around here, hardly anything on top for them to find
  6. What time does everyone else start shooting at. Ive been mostly at first light for shooting over rape is this the same for drillings ?? :what:
  7. :but: Forgot to say i'm a left hander and no one does a five shot semi in a cammo guise, let me know if you know different please ( 20 bore )

  9. I presume tim only ever has one or two birds at a time coming into his deeks, and he usually gets a ratio of 1:1, and hes a super fast loader. I will also use the gun for rat shooting and 3 shots are never enough.
  10. Well i've got all the gear now including a bloody great owl deek!! The two calls i've bought are an ACME and a LOHMAN the Lohman sounds perfect the Acme sounds like a party popper NOT RECOMMENDED. The Crow busters web site has been very useful and the lohman call mimics the downloads of crow voices very well, anyway must go the missus is getting a bit aggy with me being on this web site all the time !!
  11. Does anyone have the Benelli web address, please ?
  12. Cheers Steve Its the blueing and the finish on the ejectors that i dont like on my silver pigeon, funny your friend finds the blueing poor on his AL. If nobody comes up with different views i think i will go with the Remy, do Mossberg do a 5 shot 20 guage? Ill have a browse on there web site, the only problem being the Remy has to come special order from the USA. Watch this space and i'll do a review in a months time hopefully. 8)
  13. Hooray my firearm certificate has just dropped through the letter box, but the question is which gun to go for. I already shoot a beretta silver pigeon 20 guage so i dont want to start mixing calibres thats the reason for a semi in 20 bore. Has any one either the UL 391 or the 1100 i havent a clue which is best :what: . I would like to try the Remington as i'm not that happy with the finish on my Beretta, i dont know if i expect too much but when i clean the old mans gun, a 20 year old Winchester 101 it looks better than my 8 month old Beretta ! Any comments chaps ?

    Air Rifles

Have you been on the pop again !! A non FAC air rifle killing bunnies at 45 - 50 yards ? I'll buy one of those ! LOL
  15. Right this may be a bit long winded but stick with it i will make my point: Most of you will have seen old boys on the river bank with a 3 foot rod out of one of those sets that cost about £15. They are ****, for a few extra quid you can get a 12 ft rod and a semi decent reel they then have a half decent chance of catching something. I have used this analagy with my step daughter shes 12 and she got very dispondent with not hitting a lot with a 20 bore and 410, so i let her try a 12 firing 24g 7 shot cartridges. Results straight away. I have just swopped from a 12 bore to a 20 and its either hit or miss and to start of with its miss miss miss. If your old boy can handle the weight, and lets face it we arnt talking much difference these days, of the 12 get him one, they swing a lot easier than the 20, with the 20 you have to keep pushing the gun on but with the 12 it does a fair amount of the work for you. And to all of those that say 24g isnt heavy enough for pigeons my friend who shoots regularly with me uses this load to great effect.
