  1. After trying to do the best for my portly speyed ex hunt Beagle by way of scientific diets and lots of exercise I realised that no matter what I fed her she would allways be slave to the bins and any **** she encountered. She could quite easily exist without any intervention from me as well. Got to go, she's back from town with the kebabs.
  2. My 7 yr old Patterdale has always been a picture of health and fitness and is a fine specimen. He does not know when to give anything up and once he's knacked his self out will allways have a bit left in the tank. Rightly or wrongly I've allways been brought up to work a dog hard all the time they are enjoying it and thats what I do. He's mad it long after I've got bored of it. Recently a visit to the vets for a canine MOT revealed an irregular heart beat. This has never shown up before. What are the causes and implications for this? I'm worried that I could get the poor old boy over excited and he could keel over. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated as my vet will happily relive me of hundreds of hard earnt squids for nothing. I don't begrudge old Digger the wedge but I don't like been taken for a ride.
  3. I went through a stage of using part worn tires as I was sick of getting nice tires ruined on site. I started getting a bad noise and some serious steering wheel reverb over 70mph then 60 mph and eventually 50 mph over the course of 200 miles. The tire pressures were fine and the bearings were good so I carried on driving. When i had a proper look in day light there was a flat spot across the width of the tire and itlooked fit to burst. God knows what that tire had been through before ze germans shipped it to the UK. Still use them though, saves a packet.
  4. He'd probably been out there for days without a twitch. At least he got a bite.

    How long

I used to try and hold my breath driving through the Blackwall tunnel. The air is pure filth and the bonnet on my beetle didnt fit very well and hence acted like a ram jet. I was getting quite good and would try different breathing techniques prior to entry. I stopped doing this after nigh blacking out and battering the driver side down the tunnel wall. Not big, not clever, not to be repeated.
  6. Another week I reckon and I'll be rocking again. Problem is when it stops smarting you forget you've had it and only remember when your half way up the stairs carrying something heavy. Looking forward to getting back into it again with a few new faces, will keep a tab on the forthcoming meets. Cheers
  7. Nice one, will keep an eye open. Cheers
  8. Well thought I'd say hello, been having a sniff round the sight and rather wished I hadn't, far too easy to waste a few hours trawling through it when you should be doing other things. Hoping to meet a few absolutely appalling shots so I can return home with a brace feeling triumphant at having trounced the field. Out of action after hernia op at the moment but luckily theres OSR at the bottom of the garden and I'm able to knock a few off the fence with the springer out the office window. Its the warmest days winter shooting you'll ever have!
  9. Fruntocks 'Old trouser fowler' and Erk Dreys 'Biege wind'. You cant beat them.
