Looking for ground recommendations
roughshooter replied to roughshooter's topic in Clay Pigeon Shooting
Thanks for that Jasper i have shot SWSG many years ago but haven’t been for probably 10 years…. Childswickam I have also shot but I understand that it is a lot better now than it used to be so definitely worth a try. It is probably 20 years since I have been to HWSG and was always put off as it seemed very clicky there but times change. I have t been to Advenyute sports or Hailes fruit farm so those are definitely worth a look. I have been doing Throckmorton one week and going over to Griffin Lloyd the alternate week but Griffin is becoming decidingly morning of late as targets never change sadly. Longridge is also very enjoyable but only on Fridays and Saturdays. some excellent recommendations there thanks Graham -

Looking for ground recommendations
roughshooter replied to roughshooter's topic in Clay Pigeon Shooting
There was a time when there were dozens of local little shoots that were good fun to shoot. Seems they have all but disappeared nowadays. Thankyou for that and I may head over to Doveridge as have been saying I would try that for a while -
I seem to be shooting more clays nowadays and have a great little shoot near Evesham (Throckmorton) that I shoot fornightly where the stands change every time and it is very enjoyable. I am looking for another ground that has reasonably testing targets for the alternate week based in the West Midlands or Hereford areas. Any recommendations?

I am sure the SKB 585 use standard Browning Invector chokes. If you go onto one of the choke manufacuters websites they will have a interchange list. Try Gemini chokes as it lists it by model. Mossberg, Browning or Winchester should fit it

Great looking chokes and a bargain for someone with a Blaser….. wish they were Beretta Mobil Good luck with the sale

Hushpower 12 gauge cartridges such as Eley 32g 5s
roughshooter replied to Goldfish's topic in Wanted
A nice easy cartridge to load for yourself and will be far better than the Eley as you can incorporate slightly bigger lead which has more energy down range if you get over to Worcester at all then I can help or you could try contacting Sitsinhedges as he is quite local to you regards Graham -

Precision Reloading wads
roughshooter replied to harkom's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Last ones I bought were from John Morris’s at Shotgun Reloading but that was a while back. I had 10ga Brown ones and 12g 3” Orange ones -
Having moved over to the dark side and purchased a Beretta 682X multichoke trap gun, I am on the lookout for a set of quality extended chokes. The chokes are the older Mobil chokes so if you have a good set of Rhino, Briley, Teague etc sat in the drawer then please let me know and I will swap them for hard cash….regardsGraham

COMPLET 12G RELOADING SET UP HUGE AMOUT OF STUFF
roughshooter replied to upandatem's topic in Other Sales
Definitely. As an unknown powder that is without data……. -
The pain of a 3 1/2” steel load isn’t particularly comfortable and would suggest that for most inland shooting then 32g Steel in an appropriate size (2 for Goose and 3/4 for Duck) will suffice admirably. The factory loads have improved somewhat over the years or load a few specials up that are a bit quicker and have a bit more whoosh…

All sorted now Thank you Searching for Contact info for a PW member

Was it John Stockton you were after? -
There is plenty of data for Steel 16ga but it is generally Bluedot, Longshot or Alliant Steel Powder incorporating a VP80 wad or the B&Ps27 wad. I have some 16ga Kent Fast Steel in the cellar which have the B&P wad and uses 26g of steel 4 with Alliant Steel (Commercial 381). If you google VP80 reloading data then it will bring up a PDF or if you go onto the Ballistic Products Site and look at Load of the Week and then Archives it will bring up a few listings. Also try the 16ga forum which has useful info. I have a good few loads here which I can dig out but I won’t be using steel as I have plenty of Bismuth and ITM. Just have a load ready to test with 32g 3.1mm ITM and a B&PS27 wad which looks like it will do the job on geese and large ducks should the opportunity arise with the 16ga

Interested in shotgun reloading
roughshooter replied to sparkyboy5's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
It would be worth finding someone local to you that already reloads and could spend an hour with you and show you the ropes. They will probably help with selecting components etc. where about s in the country are you? -
I don’t think you are wrong on this occasion….. the plastic wads we are using to protect out barrels from non toxic shot will be in the world for many hundreds of years to come….

I have a complete trigger unit which I have kept as a spare. I may have two triggers but will have to check later

Sorry to hear this. I do wish you luck with the sale. There is not much better on the market apart from maybe a Spolar. The PW 800 plus is a cracking machine and if I didn’t have the 900 elite then I would be making an offer on it myself. Regards Graham
