What a great trip, not jealous at all :o)Everyone says that this is the track with the best atmosphere , Silverstone is a bit dull to me, though never been for MotoGP, used to get complimentary tickets for the F1, don't mind it but I feel there is more drama and overtaking in one MotoGP lap than in a whole F1 race !

Enjoyed ITV4's re run last night just as much as Sundays and I got to see the other races which I was too busy to really watch on Sunday, even my wife who hates bikes, never rode and never will, loves MotoGP now, had to laugh when she was explaining to her Sister that the Ducati's are faster on the straight but get caught braking on the corners !

  5. My wife is talking about going to North Cyprus, mostly because it is supposedly cheap! She loves Cyprus though, I have never been and she only the Greek part, and we have been told the Turkish side is by far the more attractive. Has anyone any experience and recommendations especially reliable tour operaters as the big boys dont go there, I assume due to the political nature of things. Thank you for any advice in advance All the best Paul.

We saw him at The Albert Hall years ago. Brilliant !!
  7. In my opinion Best thing on TV yet it never seems to be up for awards or choice of the day Their loss We love it !
  8. As said we found our CRV thirsty and what's the point of non selective 4x4 if you want to go off road ? We brought it to tow a caravan which was a mistake due to the thirsty drive. The plus point is the Honda Legendry build quality, had it five years towed all over the UK and France and nothing ever went wrong or dropped off.
  9. I brought some leather lined zipped Aigles I got for a good price on eBay a couple of years ago, still going strong, I go beating every other weekend in the season through all sorts, one thing is when I first got them they were a snug fit around my calf, not sure if it's the rubber stretching or my legs getting thinner through the exercise but definitely loser now, probably a bit from column A ,bit from column B !
  10. Tell 'em your leaving, they offer more to keep or new customers than they do to loyal continual customers, just like all the chiseling insurance companies ! Also always ring, find a non pay number on saynoto0870 I find these numbers get answered quicker as well.
  11. Brilliant, I have not seen or even heard of this before.
  12. Me too, saved a fortune and with Sky you get answered quicker as well !
  13. Don't wanna go all Socialist, not my style, but surely the quality of the health system IS part of the quality of life ?! I nearly moved to Virginia about 15 years ago, lots going for it but hard work to make it out there, 2 weeks holiday a year, lots of even professional people have to have second jobs 45 he weeks then. Great place and if anyone wanted to make a go of it I would wish them luck, mind you if I won the lottery a Florida Villa would be my first purchase but I would not entend to work ! Suppose I should meet them half way and actually buy a lottery ticket !
  14. I did think that ! Surely a bit more lit up on a motorbike/scooter? I understand and respect people's concerns and worries over bikes and scooters, I was never allowed one because of parents fears and I think parents are even more risk adverse nowadays, I think he is a great sensible lad, just needs to be more outgoing and I think this would help.
  15. I have to say I do agree, he is part of the games machine online generation, they consider that exercise and his Mum agrees so I lose that battle !
  16. If he does go for it , it will not be till he is 17 in a few months anyway so the advice from here and a helpful shop in Bedford is get a 125, other places recommended and they seemed good quality machines, Sym, he likes them or a peugeot, well to be honest he likes expensive ones even more, but his budget will be about £1700, he plans to keep for a few years then poss get half his money back at least towards a car, that is his plan but we all know about plans !
  17. If you don't mind, who was he insured with ?
  18. Thanks, sort of idea we have as well.
  19. Thanks for this bit of advice, signed him up for the free ride, just gotta wait for a date.
  20. Thanks Colin, we live in Maulden, Clophill end, though might be a few months till he gets his scooter, where abouts in Bedford are you, are you and what have you all got ? Any idea what insurance companies might take bike ncb into account ?
  21. Good idea to do his car test early as well, anything to bring the horrendous car insurance down has to help. I know the fears of riding bikes/scooters but although I have not you see loads of them on the road and sensible riders ok, not like the **** who overtook us on a blind bend at about 90 on the A6 this afternoon, they tend to be the ones you see wrapped around trees, though I know anyone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  22. Hi bit of advice wanted on something I know nothing about. My son, 16 now, 17 in 2 months has just got a part time job at Waitrose, we are very proud as 300 applied, 36 interviewed for 9 jobs and he got one. He loves it and we have dropped and picked him up so far, he has a cycle and it is possible to ride the 3 miles but there are a few horrible hills. We have had a terrible year, lost 2 aunts but in their 80's then real tragedy my 16yr old nephew suddenly died after a simple accident. 2 weeks after his funeral my Mother fell ill and died in 8 hrs. I will be glad when 2013 is over. There will be some money from my Mum and I said I will give each of my 4 children £2000 each. Sorry for waffling, my question is about Scooters, Matthew is after one and I need advice. Licences seem a minefield, CBT, 50 or 125cc scooter, insurance, does the no claims bonus built up on scooter insurance count towards car insurance later, new or second hand bike, good make and models to look out for, good dealers( we live in Beds), any extras to think of? I think that's enough questions ! Thank you for any advice.
  23. Martin Lewis's financial web site has some good advice and recommendations on mobile insurance, I went with the one he recommended think CUSC or something and was ok when I had to make a claim.
