Could you use a little log burner. Ok it will Need a little modification to the greenhouse but could be a saving long term.
  2. Just pull back the bolt and remove the round. Nothing complicated.

    Sausages

The leek and tomato are good but the venison are ok but not as good.needs improving . Too sweet . I used red currant jelly and would have been better using fresh berries. The stuffer is from biltong best price for a vertical. £135.
  5. Just been reading the post in "Pigs to slaughter" and thought i would show you all my sausage Pork & Leek, Venison, Pork red wine (Wolf Blass Merlot) and red currant jelly, with a touch of Garlic Tomato with chopped sun dried tomato's all together around 36lb
  6. Sorry i didnt realise you had yours made into sausage, and some cure'd, incedently how long did it take for the cure Someone asked me if i could do sausage with there's but it would cost them extra for the time and ingrdients, Twitchynik<<< I tell you i could not have faced eating Bloody PIG after that session in Croatia, I would rather eat Quorn Burgers  Ready for this year, i'm taking a load of marmite and brown sauce, Oh! and some packet soups
  7. Just butchered 2 pigs today. They cost £17.50 to slaughter and I think they charge about £10 for cutting and bagging. £ 200 is I think WAY too much. Tomorrow will be sausage day... The one pigy was 220 lb + huge beast nice looking pork..
  8. It's Catton near Walton on Trent just off the A38 between Burton on Trent and Lichfield . Put in a Google search for Carton rifle sport.
  9. If i can get the time off work, (as much notice as poss please) and someone can supply a whole carcuss preferably Deer of some kind i could try and do a little demo on hacking it into manageble pieces for the BBQ, The offer is there folk Apart from that, i hope i can get the time off work,
  10. Why on earth do they decide to scrap something like they did with the 11+ God knows how many years ago, because they thought it was awaste of time. Then decades later some bright spark who was obviously born way after, decides that it may be a good idea to have an exam for pre senior school and call it the "11+" Oh! so clever people
  11. this rescue would have been used as a training exercise and nothing more. It is one job i could not do ever, for any amount of money, some of the shocking scenes some of those people see would turn most of your guts inside out. Swings and roundabouts, come to mind on this job mentioned.
  12. I would still tell them to shove it, even if it meant paying a little extra (£20 ish) and tell them why, they are nothing but thieving *****
  13. £50 for that paint job on the bonnet you got ripped off Nice shooting,
  14. Fister, i would find it interesting, no doubt other folk aswell By the way will you be paying a visit to catton in the future
  15. yes i would, blood ie phone. I will delete the duplicated sentence....
  16. Yes someone remind me to take my bolts next time. Like a wally I left one last time. deleted the extra line, thanks "Sparkie"
  17. Tooooo bendy, you wont manage to push a patch through, it should be a tight fit. Tried it myself, you will end up either ruining the rod or the barrel, it not really worth it for the price of a proper rod for the job
  18. Will try as long as the weather is not tooooo wet. see what the new rifle does
  19. Howard lights. They are about £50 off the bay and very good.
  20. After finally getting a gun smith to deliver as they promised thanks Dave from Vakyrie Rifles. Fantastic results and not had to do much. After finally getting a break in the wet days I managed to get out. Well chuffed with the first few shots on paper at 100yds. Started with 34grn of Varget up to 36 in 1/2 grn increments. The 35 & 36 showed best results. Both roughly under 1/2 inch. A little fine tuning to be done should get it down to 1/4. or less. Thanks again to Dave
  21. Had mine now for about 7-8 years. It was a bit touchy at first but I don't regret the decision to be the tiger over my other choice - a savage. Rifle basic trigger will be a good buy if it new if it's 2nd hand it's probably had an upgrade.
  22. All the best to you too Ive. We and all have certianly missed out on the laughs, all at your expense of course. Its not like it used to be,but then nothing is.
