  1. It is if you are frantically trying to remember what name you posted under and wondering what the ever watchful Teal has found out !
  2. Well evidently `Teal` knows something. I smell a doppelganger.
  3. Oh dear ! Has someone got caught telling `porkies`.
  4. A good example of this is currently showing on his latest Facebook offering to his faithful followers. Seems unless you are a World Champion (multiple) you are a numpty and incapable of coaching anyone. Needless to say the acolytes are falling over themselves to applaud these words of wisdom, presumably in the hope of getting a free lesson. More likely the bookings are drying up so he is trying to drum up a bit of trade by demeaning other coaches.
  5. Having the chokes eased does not require re-proof.
  6. In an increasing number of county force areas, this remark is incorrect. Kent Police are quite clear on the matter. Get your GP to produce & sign the sample letter as shown on their website. No letter = No Licence.
  7. General Licence(GL) 36 is the document covering your question. BASC or DEFRA website.
  8. Got mine; so your postman is evidently flogging yours on that well known auction website ! 🤢
  9. My previous GP & his partners would not sign the required letter as laid out on the Kent Police website. He explained he was not anti-guns or anti-shooting but resented the way that this non-NHS work had been dumped on them by the Police with no consultation. I was lucky and found another NHS practice locally who would allow me to transfer and were happy tp produce the required letter. They charged £25, which I was more than happy with after some of the horror stories of £100 plus that have been floating around.
  10. In England - No. In Scotland - Yes.
  11. It would appear from the limited information available. that the answer to your question is, no ! Further disciplinary action or sanctions over the disqualification by the US governing bodies was appealed and his Face-ache post merely says "the appeals process has been resolved". If the governing body had overturned the disqualification and re-instated him on the leader board, it would warrrant a bit more of a jubilant post. NSCA/NSSA have made the speculation worse by not revealing how it was resolved. I am only reading between the lines from social media posts here & from the US, so others on here who know the individual concerned may know far more than me.
  12. Havent seen any whining from BASC; the whinging & whining all seems to be coming from your direction !
  13. If you PM Si.F who posted in General Shooting Matters under the heading `Thank you BASC` he could probably answer your question.
  14. Copied from another thread just to illustrate what goes on behind the scenes that the knockers choose to ignore. "From reading a lot of threads on this forum, BASC seem to get a lot of slating and derision. But I believe credit needs to given when due. My young lad, was able to partake in a days introduction for wild-fowling yesterday organised by BASC and supported by the local wild-fowling clubs. Being a totally new experience for him (and me), the whole day was a huge learning curve which he thoroughly enjoyed. A small amount of time learning about legislation, bird recognition range finding and conservation. Followed by a late afternoon on the marshes close to Wells, where I was lucky enough to tag along. The wild-fowlers giving up their time to mentor the youngsters on a one-to one basis on the marsh was fantastic, explaining how to safely navigate the marsh and creeks, settling in and waiting and listening to birds calls. A few of the youngsters were able to get a few shots off with one bringing down a mallard. But the whole afternoon was a huge lesson in patience, respect for the wildlife and environment. A few other opportunities nearly arose but being just of range or a protected species meant no "wild" shots were taken for the sake of getting as many birds as possible. It is amazing the knowledge these local wild-fowlers have. Even though my boy didn't take any shots he had a truly memorable day, especially coming off the marsh and through creeks after dark! with a huge desire to go again."
  15. Well put. A fact totally ignored by some of the BASC-knockers who regularly feature on this forum.
  16. Just about sums up the whole sorry business in one sentence !
  17. Then perhaps you should look at who got disqualified at the US English Sporting Championship held at Northwood in the US. He does not appear to have been re-instated, the current chatter revolves around the point that the US governing body appears to be taking no further action. His own post on the subject says the matter has been resolved which does not suggest the original disqualification has been over ruled.
  18. Albeit I dont like shooting in gloves, I use sealskinz which are one of the few shooting type gloves that are actually waterproof. On dry cold days I use a couple of the chemical heat satchets in each pocket, cheap enough off the bay and they keep your hands warm all day.
  19. Players Weights !!!. Their`s a name to take me back to when I first started work. If cash was short which it invariably was, we used to buy a paper pack of 5. The start of 50 years on the evil weed before a dose of pneumonia and a very blunt consultant convinced me to kick the habit before it kicked me into touch.
  20. All laid down in General Licence (GL) 36. Try the BASC or Natural England website`s.
  21. If the rumor is in fact true, it is probably the threat of legal action. He evidently earns a healthy living from his sponsorship deals, coaching & course setting etc, so he was always going to fight tooth & nail to protect his reputation and source of income. It leaves a rather unpleasant smell about the whole episode, and even though NSCA have kicked into the long grass, he will always now have finger(s) pointed as the guy who got caught cheating and disqualified at a major championship.
  22. The outstanding question from your description is what went `click` when you attempted to shoot the Woodcock ? A bit surprised if it was the hammer going forward because most self-loaders have an inbuilt mechanical safety that prevents the hammer moving forward and striking the firing pin until the breech is closed and locked. If the gun is clean & properly lubricated you shouldnt need to `forward-assist`every time you chamber a cartridge. Certainly on a gun less than a month old.
  23. I wouldnt, but each to their own ! I think the general concensus is that steel should not be fired through damascus barrels.
  24. And in the light that the chamber length is invariably stamped on the barrel flats during proof, I am not sure where this is all heading or what the question is ?
  25. Well, if its full choke, certainly one barrel hasnt been opened up ! What are the choke markings on the barrel ?
