Cheers everyone for the warm welcome, And i like the idea of maybe a meeting somewhere( of course it has to be a pub!) And the wealth of info thats on here is amazing, I did'nt think that pigeon shooting was that big compared to clay shooting but boy how wrong i am but i now know that shooting the real thing is not only a hell of a lot cheaper but even more satisfying and addictive! Happy shooting everyone and once again cheers for the welcome !
  4. Cheers guy's il have a nosey round the site and hopefully i can then shut me little darlings up! lol
  5. Im after a cheap little 410 as my two boys keep on at me to take em shooting, They gettin a bit bored with being my button pusher on the clay stands! lol So if anyone got a cheapie and around the essex area that would be superb...
  6. If you are only after chokes id ask the shop in the states to put em in a large jiffy bag or small box and just put gift on it if they will, Coz i used to work for fedex at stansted airport and some of the stuff that used to come through was well err not a gift but got through no probs, Even had ****loads of proper expensive lifesize machine gun bb guns come through and customs didnt touch them they were more intersted in liquids that were coming over... Just give it a go with "gift" and should be ok....

  8. Hi everyone, Been into shooting for about six months now and its all been clay shooting, Friend of mine has air rifles and has permission to shoot acres of farmland and asked if id like to join him for some pigeon shooting, So i thought why not, He's never shot a shotgun before and we went out last week for the first time, He loves the gun, now puttin in for his sgc, And i shot two pigeons and am well and truly hooked! went out couple of days later and bagged between us 10 birds so im off work sick at the mo so am planning on loads more time out in the fields as it is sooooo addictive! Top site and everyone seems to give loads of help and advice so once again hi guy's and good shooting!
  9. I have a built in wardrobe next to the chimney and thought great il bolt it to the chimney as thats gotta be brick, Started to drill only to find that is block built! so i put it to the other side which is the wall dividing us and next door and that was brick so stuck it there and when the feo came round he said splendid if it was on the other side i would have asked you to move it to the side its on now as its harder to get a jemmy in the sides!
  10. Cheers guys, Im off work for the next two weeks so i think il pop over and study flight lines, times when they are most active and just sit down watch the activity and chill out and enjoy the peace! lol, i live not far from essex gun and the do a pack of 12 shell type decoys for 27 quid, is this the right sort of money or should i scour the net for some mail order jobbies.. Once again cheers guys and must say everyone seems to be friendly and try to help newbie's like me out ! top site and il be on here regularly.....
  11. Hi guy's ive only been shooting for six months and its been clay shooting, But a friend of mine shoots air rifles on a good few acres of farmers fields in essex and has got permission for me to take my shotguns on this land to shoot pigeons.. He has never shot a shotgun before and i have never shot pigeons either and we are now both well and truly hooked ive managed to shoot about six birds but what i want to ask is what is the best time to be out in the field as we usually get to the field about 3-4 oclock in the afternoon and stay untill around 7 or 8 now we see quite a few birds but is there a best time or worst time to be out as we just dont know and we both want to take this serious and my friend has a hide but we have no decoys as of yet, And is it in our best interest to get decoys as soon as possible to maximise our shooting. Ive been looking at the price of rotary machines and will eventually get one but need to work out how to get the basics sorted first before splashing out and making a total balls up of the whole thing.... Any help gladly appreciated and just gotta say what a feeling when u hit ya first bird! Cheers guys!
