  1. The match fishing world has some massive prizes £50-70k for the winner, fishamania, maver match this, kamasan, golden real, but you find most are arranged and put up by the manufacturers you may have to qualify for the final in one of there multiple match's in uk but its got a massive following and some are also on tv.... the shooting world needs a few of the big uk companys to set it up and come forward with sponsorship of such events.
  2. I first posted some pics of my dogs in the topic on 6th jan 2007. I posted a pic of my lab George who was 1 at the time and has been by my side up until I lost him at the age of 15 on dec 30th 2020. George had a fab life and I couldn't of asked for a better dog. he never put a foot wrong. and was so loving it was unreal. so here's his first and last pics. (pic with horse he was 1) now i also posted a picture of my jr bailey who was 8 weeks at the time. I still have bailey (now 14) again a well behaved, loving dog. ill post his latest picture too. now while I remember ill add a updated pic of Chester my 3yo lab. Chester was one of john robsons pups and is also a good dog.
  3. As your prob aware mungo being on my fb. Me the wife and kids tested positive for it back in oct. A lad came into work with a cough and gave it me. said lad ended up in hospital on oxygen and double pneumonia. he spent over a week in hospital aged 46 I had fever, temp (controlled by paracetamol), cough for few days at start and finish, No taste or smell, Rash on my arms. I didn't eat and felt horrid. I suspect I had the same thing Dec 2019 after some lads from work came back from working in china. wife had fever, no taste/smell, cough both kids tested positive but after a couple days of kids crack (Calpol) you wouldn't of known. now as for deaths, kims uncle had covid and died, I think he was 67 but he also had bad health. It wasn't covid that killed him but it got counted. My mum works at the hospital in chemistry labs where tests are being done and she said the numbers are on the rise for positive results. she also told me of 2x people she knows at work who have died of it one was in paper aged 50. my old Labrador George also died of covid on 30th dec, I had him for 15 years. 8. I have a possible place on my vermin shooting syndicate. ill be possibly looking for 1 local to derby member There is various patch's of land in the derby area which are all arable crop. The successful applicant will be aloud to shoot as and when you please. the spaces will be for air gunners or shotgunners.... I don't want anyone asking for firearms use. This is a vermin shoot with opportunity for wild game when in season. applicants interested to send me a pm please with a small introduction about yourself. you will be vetted as i need to know your going to be safe when out alone. sparkie Edited October 20, 2019 by SPARKIE

  11. Ok then, Thursday 17th night/afternoon a few of us will be meeting at the longtown ranges and camping. Anyone wishing to come friday 18th sat 18th morn will need to be there early because we will be travelling up in convoy to the new range so id say please be there for about 8am. I believe the road goes through the range so once shooting has started they wont be re opening the gates. Gardners have sent me an email statement to comply with scottish social distance rules n that which im sure will be part of the breif. They will be shooting details of 5 at a time to comply and face covering must be worn on the range. hand sanitizer will be supplied too. before and after the shoot is where the new rules come into force so will all have to social distance. blah blah blah the address for the shop is Gardners Guns Ltd Purdoms Crook Sandysike Longtown Carlisle CA6 5ST uk THE RANGE IS COUPLE HUNDRED YARDS DOWN THE ROAD ON THE A7 IF ANYONE NEEDS MY MOBILE NUMBER PM ME. OH AND GET RELOADING.
  12. Waiting on pm reply bud
  13. spoke to gardners today no announcements for Scotland so were good to go. They wont be stopping the gun clubs from shooting up there I don't think as long as social distancing happens. we will be camping and meeting at his longtown gun club range and driving to the range on the mornings when everyone is ready .(ill sort address asap) longtown has 100yrd zero he said we can use, clubhouse, somewhere flat for tents toilets n was facility. think he may have a shop too. the 2k training range we are shooting at has a covered firing point so no need to worry about bad weather seen some pics today looks awesome.. has electronic impact targets installed too so hopefully they will be on. hopefully it will all come together so get that reloading done. martyn
  14. That's for uk... need to find out if that covers Scotland as I don't think it does. ill be ringing marc again.
  15. don't waste ya time on wsm get the hornet reloading gear. you can prob reload cheaper than buying factory .17wsm if ya have cases allready i reload below for my .17AH cci br primer 7p 20gr vmax 25p 11.6grn reloader 7 pffft about 5-10p so less than 40p i use these well over 150yrds or if walking with a chance of fox if ya want plinking n cheap crow smashing i reload below cci br primer 7p 17grn cranks bullets 6p and 10.6grn reloader 7 5-10p so around 20p a round i reload 1grain less so i dont have to change zero on rifle from one to the next. both are running 3700fps ish. my hmr had become an ornament due to this rifle.
  16. I have a gen 5 that I reload hornet with and that works fine.
  17. my howa .308 has been nothing but a pain in the ***.... its a howa bravo. haven't had the issue you had and it will shoot ppu ok but it grouped like a shotgun. so I checked everything was tight and did some reloads got it down to 1.5inch groups. Then had a trigger job done and crown checked and muzzle break made. gunsmith who did the work found the ally mount block didn't grip the barrel enough at the front and aloud sideways movement so he machined it out which then pulled the barrel down. so spoken to krg who sent a new mount. I ended up doing a devcon bed job on it all to stop movement. ive now got it shooting less than .5" at 100yrds with the reloads turns out it likes a 40thou jump to lands and 45grain n140. so done a batch of ammo to get it zeroed up sunday for it to throw the first round 5" to the right. checked the gun and found the Audere pst scope mount cracked should be called Odear. back to the shop and now it has a set of burris xtr mounts. try my luck with them. don't think ill buy another howa... Tikka again from now on.
