  1. Just because something isn't allowed to happen does not mean it won't.
  2. I don't think Russia is allowed to invade Ukraine either.
  3. I have some bamboo socks and the quality varies a great deal. One lot I bought made my feet smell terrible. I don't normally have smelly feet but those particular socks were awful. It was the socks that smelled rather than my feet, fresh pair every day and after 3 days the washing basket stunk the utility room out.
  4. Of course they do, it means they will have to go back to work.
  5. I believe several barristers have claimed Trudeau's actions are in fact unlawful as are some of the actions taken by police. I don't think anyone can say it is not government overreach at best. ps. Trudeau himself was the one to bring Nazis into it, even more stupidly of him was that he was defending his actions to a Jewish lady at the time. Hasn't apologised for that yet.
  6. They invent the laws and have just invented a whole new set of them. Their law now lets the police/authorities not just remove the protestors but then to go on and completely destroy their livelihoods too. The chief of police has said he fully intends to do so even if the protestors pack up and go home. I struggle to comprehend anyone thinking the current government policies are proportionate and just.
  7. I don't know downtown Ottawa as I have never been there but did read that there is nearly always a protest of some sort going on down there, that is what downtown Ottawa is like. I accept there must be disruption to the lives of people living in that area and that they must be pretty fed up with it. I cannot accept that the response by Trudeau has been proportionate in any way shape or form. He has introduced military law against peaceful protestors, he didn't do it when the BLM stuff was going on and people were getting killed, he didn't do it over 911 either. The peaceful protestors are being met with rooftop snipers, mounted police trampling them in what has widely been regarded as completely reckless behaviour, lines of riot police all armed with pickaxe handles, The police have said they will take the children off the protestors, they will freeze their bank accounts, they will revoke their driving licences and their insurances. Basically they have said they will intentionally destroy their entire lives and you think that is OK? The stuff going on in Canada against the trucker protest is completely outrageous and I struggle to see how anyone can justify it. I don't approve of the BLM riots or the Insulate Britain actions but I wouldn't want them countered the way the truckers have been.
  8. You should read up a bit more on it. There are two sides to every story and personally I side with the truckers. All the truckers are objecting to is mandatory vaccinations and repeated testing. The guns mentioned in the report are almost certainly planted from what I can gather in order to discredit the very peaceful protestors. The police have threatened to take the protestors kids off them, they have sabotaged equipment (the police), the prime minister has invoked martial law in effect yet failed to do so during the BLM riots where people were killed. They are now saying they will freeze the truckers bank accounts too. There was £10m raised for the protestors by supporters of their cause through GoFundMe. Look up that one properly and you won't use Gofundme again. They then used a different platform called GiveGetGo or similar, they have confiscated that money too now. Normal housewives, just ordinary folk like us have been visited by the police because they have expressed their support for the truckers on facebook. Do not just accept the line that the truckers are the baddies, it is far from the case and there is plenty out there to support this.
  9. This is a good reason to have screen wash in the car water bottle. People have contracted it in this way.
  10. The chlorine escapes while the water is sat in the cold tank upstairs. Doesn't work if you are on a combi boiler.
  11. Tea tastes worse here because the chlorine is still in the cold tap water.
  12. Of course I didn't succeed, didn't succeed on my own patch never mind anywhere else. I still have rabbits and they still eat my apple trees but I haven't shot one for a long time, might even be 2 years. Last year they built up to be quite numerous and above the levels at which I would cull normally. I still didn't shoot any as they don't matter as much as they used to. There are a small number around at the moment, the most noticeable thing is I have not seen any of this years young where I would have expected to at least a few weeks back. There is a buzzard on patrol though so maybe that is keeping them out of sight. I am pretty confident VHD was present this time last year as I saw quite a few dead rabbits with no other obvious explanation. It hasn't wiped them out though, just like myxy didn't and just like I didn't.
  13. I must have been woke before my time as I really never got Chubby Brown, Mannings, Garnet, Davidson or any other excessively crude or racist comedians. Always preferred Charlie Williams, Les Dawson etc. No doubt they could be equally crude, racist, sexist etc but not what they chose to be known for. Some of it really does belong in the past. As for Jimmy Carr, I quite like him but that particular joke takes a bit of justifying. Having said that I accidentally smirked at a Maddie joke recently so I will be going to Hell.
  14. Spent a lifetime trying to wipe them out, never thought I would succeed. I am feeling more and more that I am from a different world, here we are building "hotels" in order to encourage rabbits.
  15. I wrote the last reply a little in haste and did think about wind be a more reliable source of energy than solar in your situation. It probably would make sense to include a small wind turbine and I would think the type commonly found on smallish pleasure boats would suffice. Or, add an excess of solar panels as they are pretty cheap and plenty of room on that roof.
  16. I have a larger building than that fitted with a single panel (300W or less) feeding into a solar charge controller (Epever is the make) which charges a 12V leisure battery. That feeds a 1600W inverter that can supply 800W of 240V constantly and 1600W for short bursts. Off that inverter I can run some labelling machines, a PC, a couple of printers (labels) and yesterday I fitted a twin batten light unit from Toolstation. It won't run all of those all together for the whole day but it would light your building easy enough. Look up Will Prowse on Youtube, he does some really good vids on what you are wanting.
  17. As said above the threat of the police turning up and the fear of a custodial sentence was enough to stop the crime happening in the first place. I believe the change in society is in no small part due to the fact people have realised neither of the above are very likely to happen.
  18. For what they are I really cannot see the point of a multichoke. £1200+ for a good one seems to be the going rate, most of them haven't seen a lot of cartridge and at that price they won't.

    Liz Truss

Outrageous. Are schools short of air filters then? I didn't know that.
  20. I think his advisors resigned immediately afterwards as he went and did the opposite of what they advised.
  21. I think late diagnosis of various ailments will result in more deaths than covid because most people cannot access the NHS, especially via a GP.
  22. Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it
  23. I knew the rules were coming but I didn't realise until just that my pickup is new enough to be exempt. I feel extra smug now.
  24. Yes. Taken first sign of an attack (sparkly vision for me) and they stop the headache. You might get a “thick head” but you can carry on with whatever you were doing. They were unavailable but it appears they are back on the shelves again. I get a migraine maybe once a year and will be buying some now I know you can get them again. Apparently so. They were not available when I last tried to get some.
