  1. Many farmers have been well aware that this would probably happen for many years now. That is one reason why a lot of them will not plant new woodland.

Stupid move IMO. Why should there be free access to any areas of privately owned land?

Makes no more sense to me than bringing in a law that makes it legal for me to come and have a walk around your house if and when I feel like it. Oh and by the way I will be fetching my dog with me so he can take a dump. Not to worry though cos I will wrap it in a special little bag and leave it on the sofa for you.

  2. Never found any need to heat anything up, just tip it all together.

Hadn't thought of gooseberry version, what was that like? Was it mixed with raspberries or on its own?

I have spent the entire day packing gooseberries for market, never thought to mix any with vodka, just drinking it neat at the mo.

  3.

Did laugh as the average age of the audience was 35-40 and clearly a fair few of them hadn't taken the substances they were taking last night for some time!

My missus went on the Friday and said it very nearly bettered our earlier trip to Australia hols for awesomeness.

She also said the same about the folks that were out of it. Reckoned they were going to be gutted to have missed the whole thing.

  4. This might sound like a stupid question, but I am being serious.

As said earlier on this thread I have a bad sesame allergy, in the UK it's not a big problem as there isn't a lot of sesame used and what is used tends to be in the form of seeds so I can see it.

When travelling abroad, especially Asia, a lot more sesame is used and you can't always see it. It's fairly safe to suspect everything has sesame in it in some parts.

In that situation I think it wise to carry an epi pen, just in case.

On reading about them they say you must always go to hospital after using one, mostly because the effect can be short lived and the reaction can return when they wear off.

I don't go to the doctors much. I went a few years back but that was for my HGV medical. He commented that I wasn't a regular visitor and it turned out the last time I had been was for my previous medical 10 years earlier. My point being that if it means I really do have to go to hospital I would probably avoid using the pen.

So, after that long ramble, the question is "do you really really have to go to hospital if you administer the epi pen?"

Most places I have been are so far from the hospital I would probably be dead anyway.

  5. Sesame

It is not good and I honestly think it might kill me one day, that's definitely not good.

I don't understand how you can be OK all your life and then develop a really bad allergy to something. I used to be fine with sesame, mostly seeds as that's what's on Big Mac buns (for example) and regularly bought loaves covered in sesame seeds. Not regularly as in every day but maybe every month or so. Not as if I OD'd on the stuff to set it off.

These days I reckon a Big Mac bun would see me off.

Very scary when it gets me, cos eating out is fraught with danger. I avoid obvious foods but you don't always know. Last one was a spicy stew of all things. Who would think that would have sesame in it.

My missus freaked, I swelled up like the Hulk or summat. Only way I can get through it is to stay calm, not easy with your missus freking out.

  6. Its the most amazing place ive ever been to. Ive done the travel for holidays, and people seem to be missing a trick here. Why not explore your own country and see just what your missing out on.

Last weekend me and the missus went up to John O'groats in my Mk1 Escort just for the Hell of it. We drove back down the great Glen and through Glencoe.

I said to the missus that I have been all over this planet and taken her along most of the time, I have never yet been anywhere more stunning than this and she was reading a book.

I said I don't mind you reading a book but by God you are seriously missing out.

Only downside is the weather can be a bit iffy. Doesn't bother me but a bit of Greek sun would be nicer this year.

  7. Plenty of Buzzards, Kestrels and Sparrowhawks here.

Also plenty of Woodpeckers of all colours and many other species of birds.

Can't understand how they got here because I am a farmer and if the RSPB are to be believed we generally wipe out all bird species.
