The event is teams of 2 vehicles and 4 crew and the format changes each year. Last year Each section was limited to 20 mins to complete. Points were awarded depending how far you got in the given time. Like a big trial but you were allowed winches, stopping, shunting etc. None of the sections would be driveable without. There was also a 3hr punch hunt in a forest. The terrain ranged from a rock quarry, a bog, a big gully through a wood, an open moor, and a night section on very icy forest roads. All good fun but hard on vehicles. 20 teams took part, but not all finished. We also get teams over from Holland and Belgium. Regards, Ian.

Hi Kirky, get yourself over to Duns on the first weekend in March and take a look at the Muddy Truckers Trophy. It's a 3 day extreme challenge event to make your eyes water. The event is full but it'll be a top weekend to see the best UK teams in action. http://www.muddytruckers.co.uk/ Regards, Ian.
  5. Hi Pavman, nice goose shootin' What load and shot size do you use through the old 10 bore? Ian.
  6. Like Lurcherboy said get on NFR and become a member. Also sign up for the ferreting day on Feb 17th to get some hands on help. Happy hunting, Ian.
  7. The thing is the persons, usually, involved in airgun crimes aren't intelligent or responsible. Education could help, but if you asked police to identify an air rifle among rifles or shotguns alot would struggle. So what chance do we have? A shotgun type ticket would be the way forward for me. No requirement for cleared land or purpose of use. As for the amount of air guns around, where's the argument? How many shotguns are there in the uk? Legal and otherwise. You can buy a shot gun for £50, legally. A total ban will not happen, no matter how many distraught parents jump up and down. Ian.
  8. My old .22 hw77 loved H&Ns, as stated above, they are pretty good through Weirauch rifles. Regards, Ian.
  9. Thay are used to adjust the paralax of the scope. Big sidewheels are usually used in FT shooting for range finding, but a small side paralax adjuster can be useful to range find when hunting. Hope this helps, regards, Ian.
  10. Either day for me, Sunday would probably be better though. Regards, Ian.

    The Storm.

Very wet here over night and this morning. :( Got very wet out shooting this morning, but the sun got out this afternoon. A couple of drive were unshootable, due to flooding. Regards, Ian.
  12. I'm a member too. Got a good deal on a mark 3 ferret finder and an extra collar. Richard Halshall is a good guy to talk to, and gives out good advice to novices, (me). Definately worth registering. Regards, Ian.
