  1. Axe asked me about this today as well. I did have a good look for it v8landy but couldn't find it - I've had a quick look through the DV tapes and found it, just need to get round to grabbing it back off there and compressing it - might get time at the weekend
  2. Place I got mine from was Alana Ecology. It was the Cobra Optics stuff as mentioned previously. Try this link here. Should be the first 4 products in that search result - 10x10 or 20x20 in 3 or 5mm thickness. HTH!

    RSPCA

I'd kind of stayed away from posting anti-RSPCA links, there are so many I'd rather people just looked and noticed for themselves or it seems like a conspiracy theory - no criticism of you both, I've just ranted on the subject a few times and I came out of it looking like some radical myself The links and associations are irrefutable, the upper echelons of the RSPCA are bordering on blatantly terrorist associations - that I could take but the royal warrant looks somewhat suspect when you learn the truth. That, when you consider HRH the Duke of Edinburgh is the BASC's patron, doesn't sit well, does it?

Another learned believer, right on brother russuk In all seriousness that is what they do, look back over the threads on here from people aggrieved by their troublesome meddling. Ner a good story of the good they do

I get the thinking, no basis in fact for it and more importantly none of their business. I think probably the issue is that the royal warrant and the perceived "status" of the organisation is leading social care bodies to lend too much weight to their "claims". If every single RSPCA inspector was a trained social worker, then I wouldn't have an issue. They just are not qualified no matter what anyone says, to make claims or to have the weight put behind the claims they do make.

I don't want to spoil the programme which I think was really well put together, the things that came out didn't surprise me at all but did shock me. The whole thing about them getting involved with reporting people to social services and their chief inspector being unaware that HIS staff were about to be advised to report ANYONE even SUSPECTED of animal cruelty or neglect to SOCIAL SERVICES to look into the case for POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE just boils my ****. What in the blue hell that has to do with animal welfare is beyond me.

I'm probably one of the few that's sold something to the bloke, top fella and you can't ignore his attitude and reputation on here. Gets my vote

I've not, other than mentioning the anti nature of the organisation, even mentioned the things they do that disadvantage or target the shooting community. I could, but that's really a matter for people to work out for themselves. As I've said to cols10 the work they do in some areas is admirable, can't knock it. However the subtext to it has to worry just about everyone here.

This is true and I accept that some of the work they do is completely valid. Actually I think the majority of the "foot soldiers" they recruit do it because they want to make a difference, they are mislead and trained to capitalise on the false image propagated deliberately by the "top brass". People need to make up their own minds, a few minutes with google and some carefully chosen keywords will reveal the militant and terrorist connections of the top brass within their organisation. I just find the royal warrant and public message in conflict with the actual activities of the organisation.

I think that's part of it. They like people to think they have power. Can't remember what it was on TV I was watching but some RSPCA "inspector" showed up at this woman's gaff and knocked on the door. What she said was interesting and scary at the same time. As this woman opened the door the RSPCA woman said "Hi, I need to come in, don't worry your not under arrest". How dare they say things like that, they have no powers of entry or arrest. Actually they basically have no powers at all, they like to dress like coppers and pretend they have power to fool people into letting them into their homes. Bunch of idiots.

    RSPCA

May be of interest, I personally despise the RSPCA. What they purport to do is admirable and would on the face of it be an organisation I support, however the truth of it is they are a bunch of foolish bullies who prefer to prosecute people rather than help them, operate under the pretence of animal welfare but specialise in persecuting human beings where possible, dress & train "officers" to act as much like the police as they possibly can and generally make a total nuisance of themselves as and when they can. On the way home I caught "File on Four", a regular investigative news magazine on Radio4, the subject this time round being the RSPCA. Rather than reveal the program I quote from the Radio4 website :- "The RSPCA says it needs to recruit more inspectors to implement welfare provisions of new laws. But File On 4 has uncovered serious concerns about the RSPCA's investigations and prosecutions. Allan Urry asks, if they seize your pet could your children be next?" You can go to the Radio4 File on Four website here and choose how to listen or just get the mp3 from here Seriously interesting, at least I thought so. Deeply worrying, anyone listening, I'd love to hear what you think.

    T8 Troubles

Funny thing with this one gary, is that I put 5 shots same height but with 2" lateral difference @100yds at bisley when it was blustery. Given that I'd say something has gone awry since then, it was shooting fine that day...
  14. As SS or Garyb (or anyone who's met me for that matter) will verify I am not the most stealthy of people However if you watch carefully whilst approaching, as you say paying attention to wind etc, as soon as any of them alert STAND STILL! If they twitch, look up, ears up etc you'll be fine if you don't move a muscle. Wait until they go back to feeding and then begin moving again, this way you can get much closer. Any kind of movement at all when they are alerted and they'll bolt.
  15. Heh, I don't remember putting that on euwetoob..
  16. The whole bloody thing is a such a caricature of itself it's not funny. Incredibly believable black American who's relying on people trying not to be racist to get into office 'Nam war vet trying to stay alive long enough to get voted for Woman, governor of Alaska for less than 15 months and absolutely no experience at anything but being annoyingly religious Superbowl the greatest show on earth? Don't make me laugh.
  17. I have to take issue with that, since it's not strictly true. Rabbits see differently to pigeon, differently to a lot of animals. You are right that they have poor vision in terms of acuity, but this is by design. They are prey animals and just about anything else is a threat to them, it's not actually important that they recognise what something is, just that something is coming so they can run away from it. With eyes on either side of their heads, high up, they have a very wide field of view. The ability to have this panoramic view of the world is a trade off against acuity and colour vision - which they simply don't need.
  18. I don't see this being as daft as some make out. The crow, or other non-target species deeks, are to add realism and give the birds confidence to come in for a closer look. Rabbits are skittish, they don't sit out in a field when there are predators about, so if the local pigeons have worked this out - why wouldn't it work? The whole idea with decoying is to make your pattern as natural, inviting and safe for the birds as possible. If in the locality the birds land among the rabbits, why not?
  19. Axe, I took the fact that the reply came to the post containing my demo as an indication of what he was commenting on
  20. Ok smartarse, I was showing people how to do it, if you do it quickly they can't see how to do it. Do you see how that works? Geez!
  21. What the frig is that doing on youtube! I never put that there
  22. I've shot maybe 1000 in the last 6 months, but I didn't miss many, I'll be right Mind I don't think I'll raise the gun to some of the birds you did, I might hit the odd long one but I've a way to go to catch you with a shotgun my friend
  23. I've never played there, driven past it a few times though and wondered, any good? I've changed from 3w off the tee after finding a driver I like, it's going long and straight so watch out Let me know closer to the time on these pigeons, I got my pants pulled down over the winter and I need revenge!
  24. You know it wasn't a dig, I enjoy it because I know you both don't actually hate each other but know how to push each others buttons Rob I'd snap your arm off for another day like that, 166 my best ever day and we only got settled at 12 after being moved - it could have so easily been a 250 bird day! First time I've seen someone else's approach to decoying and boy did it work! Assume I'm up for it, I'll be there. I owe you a return on the golf as well!
