Mine froze yesterday morning, I freed off the driver's side handle with warm(not boiling) water from the kettle and used the key lock to gently ease the lock. I poured the water onto the solid handle part surrounding the lock barrel, took a couple of minutes to free off. Hope this helps, BB

The reason stubble is needed is because it's generally an effective place to attract birds to, without causing damage to crops, surely not too difficult to grasp? Yesterday, in unfavourable conditions, fitful gusts or no wind, out of the 14 birds bagged, 11 of them had their crops stuffed full of wheat/barley, which sort of illustrates that the stubbled area is not the crop area we are attempting to protect but the crops in the next field and beyond. Yes, I enjoy being out at any time of the year, "wildlife" to give it the countryfile tag, seen yesterday amongst others, were Roe Deer, Brown Hare, Barn Owl, Kestrel, Skylark, Buzzard and Red kite all adding to the enjoyment of the day. Looking forward to a good meal tonight, pigeon breasts of course, pest control perks.

Last Saturday I had stock doves visit, commit and land throughout the day,2 on one occasion wandered around the pattern for several minutes appearing to be mesmerised by the magnet and flapper movement. If only the woodies were so willing!!

I agree, it would not be an exaggeration to say that throughout West London, Surrey, East Berkshire and parts of Buckinghamshire that the population is in the tens of thousands and is firmly established the numbers increasing year on year and moving gradually westwards. I have worked in and around Staines/Heathrow for over twenty six years or so and every morning and evening witness, their very swift flight movements, as flock after flock scream along the contours of the several reservoir embankments in the area to and from their roosts. Yes, they are impressive, but they are as others have mentioned, non-native and are having an adverse impact in a variety of ways. Unfortunately, I’m unable to shoot them from any local permissions as yet, but that may change in early part of next year. Woodpigeons, are I think attractive to look at but they’re still a pest to be controlled. Parakeets, regardless of their appearance IMHO are exactly the same.

If this is an early model Focus with key barrel access to both front doors, try locking/unlocking from either side and observe if all the interior handles move when either door lock is turned to lock/unlock. This may indicate if a door latch fault is present and which one, ie one handle/latch not moving when the other latches move. Hope this makes sense?
