  1. Thanks for advice guys. Will try a sling out for sure.
  2. Alright guys, do others use slings on their guns? I use a hw 97k which I normally carry around in my right hand, pointing at ground, but this gets quite tiring some times. It would also be useful to have both hands free for lugging bunnys out of a field and back to my rucksac etc. Does a sling mess up your standing shot if it's dangling about? Are there any good swivels to get which are quiet i.e. don't rattle? I would also be worried about the front clamp working loose and falling off and dropping the thing? Cheers v. much. J
  3. I've got a Simmons 3-9x50 on mine which has been faultless. Make sure you get a good 1-piece mount though whatever you go for and screw it in to the recoil arrester.
  4. Hi guys, what's the idea with IR? I use a 3-9x50 Simmons scope for all my shooting and have never not been able to see the cross hairs whether shooting under moonlight, lamping etc. Had a look at one in a shop and it looks quite snazzy though. Cheers

    What to hunt?

Hi chaps, I'm a bit new to this game, and was wondering what people are out hunting in these thypes of conditions, and at this time of year? It seems like the moon's too bright for effective lamping at the mo? I managed to get a rabbit the other night by stalking it on my belly, and didn't even need the lamp because it was so bright in the moon light. I went into the woods the yesterday but didn't see **** all, I think because it was too windy and all the furry animals were hiding away. Any thoughts on what I should be shooting mo, or have I gotta wait for the moon to sod off / wind to drop? Thanks, J.
  6. No! I changed my mind and bought the logun lamping kit. Thought 100m should be ok... Thanks.
  7. Has anyone stumbled across the best deal on the net for the above lamping kit?

    Which Weihrauch?

Thanks for everyone's help, I am now the proud owner of a HW 97k! It's very nice and I've just bagged my first rabbit this morning. Well chuffed! It's now skinned and in the fridge for tomorrow evening's dinner

    Which Weihrauch?

Hi, yeah reckon I want a springer. I like the simplicity. Pocket full of pellets and off you go Possibly a gas-ram, but then they need a pump don't they? Do people reckon it's worth getting an underlever? I kind of reckon they spoil the appearance of a rifle.. Also, is it simple to fit a nice silencer to any rifle? Or should I be looking to buy one that is factory fitted?
  10. Hi, Sorry is this has been done before: I'm gonna splash out on a hunting rifle and I've set my heart on a Weihrauch. I'm just not sure which one to go for. I'm pretty new to hunting, but I'm not one to get cheap stuff to start with so I wanna get a daddy of a rifle. I'm going to be using it for rabbits, pigeons, squirrels etc. I dunno whether I should get an underlever or not, or a carbine or not. I definitely want a silencer, and a dedicated scope weapon. I had a look at a HW 97K in my local shop which felt amasing, compared to the HW 80 that they had. These are the only Weihrauchs they had so are there any others I should check out? Or would the 97k be the business? Also, would a 3-9x50 scope be preferable over a 40? They seem to be available for about £70 off the web which seems good. Many thanks for your help.
