  1. Both my 12 and 20 bore AL391s run on Castrol fully synthetic motor oil and they work really well on it.
  2. I'm planning on roost shooting tomorrow on our syndicate which is approximately 9 miles from my front door. I'll be completely alone for the duration. I wasn't planning on going until I had a call from our keeper earlier informing me that given the volume of rape on the farm this year the farm manager would like the syndicate members to cover a wood each on Saturday afternoons for the foreseeable future. On that basis I believe I'm complying with the rules. https://basc.org.uk/coronavirus/
  3. Agreed, there have definitely been occasions we're electronic devices have been used more than they should, work backing up, meetings with builders etc. Needs must on occasion. I think having a plan in place is the main thing, it might not get followed all the time but having it there as a reference definitely helps.
  4. It certainly hasn't been easy, we were living and working in one room of a rental house from last March to July whist our family home was having major building work done, the completion of which was delayed by 6 months during the first lockdown. For my youngest her school were really good in emailing out learning packs every week, my eldest's school didn't send send out learning packs as often so we made a point for both of them of downloading age appropriate Maths and English as well as ordering KS books, colouring, stickers books etc. We told both of them that reading, colouring/practical work, cooking painting and being outside in the Garden is free and unlimited, if they were indoors we got them to do 2-3hrs of academic work every day. One benefit is that the two of them are now much closer than they were before and they also have practical skills in the kitchen that a 7 and 11 year old wouldn't have done at school.
  5. Yes they would go and find food if there was insufficient food locally. For smaller numbers of birds released I'm sure this would be find. A bigger concern for me would be on the larger more commercial shoots that potentially have a much larger number than the land could provide for. Antis will pick up on any negative an exploit it. We have an eye on next season already and intend to keep feeding the current stock on the basis that potentially fewer birds could be released for the 21/22 season. The Mrs and kids seem be doing pretty well in the scheme of things, IT issues have settled down somewhat! I'm lucky with work in that I'll just start earlier and finish later to make sure everything is covered, I'll disappear into another room for meetings. I feel for trades and other people that have to leave the house for work along with having children to manage.
  6. On our small Syndicate we've shot twice this year and still have plenty of birds about. We'll continue to feed them as there is a duty of care to the birds if they're being shot or not. I hope that all other shoots will do the same until sufficient natural food is available. The antis and MSM getting wind of starving game birds will be another nail in the coffin if shoots don't keep feeding. For us not much changes with this lockdown, I had a positive test early December and other than for essentials we've barely left the house. Now we're onto home learning via Zoom with two junior school aged kids, alongside working from home. Luckily my wife as been placed on Furlough again otherwise home schooling would be unmanageable. It hasn't been the most productive day so far!
  7. Country Squire have published another article this morning, the Daily Mailed pick up the previous one. https://countrysquire.co.uk/2020/12/23/damning-video-footage-nails-packham/
  8. I had none of the symptoms other than fatigue, no temperature, cough loss of taste etc. Just feeling generally rough but still able to function. I went for a test which came back positive , wife and kids all negative but 3 three were complaining of headaches and tiredness the week prior to my test. The infection rate in the south east is really high and I can see why. I took my youngest to swimming lessons last night, our isolation period finished last weekend., I filled the Covid forms in and after the initial shock and explaining that I wasn't a risk to anyone in the waiting area the truth starts to come out. At least half of the parents confessed to having symptoms similar to mine in recent weeks and have chosen to put it down as something else, rather than getting tested, then carried on moving around as normal. In my view testing rates will drop significantly from now until the new year as people won't want to test positive and have to isolate over the festive period.

    Fitness

This year has been interesting, people have gone one of two ways, put it on or the change in circumstances has helped them lose it, I'm the latter. I was 86kg in March and I'm down to 76.2kg now. The biggest change for me was getting into a routine, previously with travelling around for work, kids clubs and client entertaining, looking after myself was what I would do when everything else was done. When lockdown 1.0 happened I made a point of eating 3 proper meals each day, not drinking too much and exercising regularly. I didn't really notice my weight coming down until I dropped a trouser size, that and the number of comments I get from friends and work colleagues since. 12 stone is my limit now, keeping it here would be fine. I'm 5ft 8, 12 stone which gives me a BMI of 25.4 , 32inch waist. The Mrs keeps complaining I'm too thin now!!
  10. I supplied my medical records, but Medicert can apply for them on your behalf. https://www.medcert.co.uk/#more
  11. My surgery refused to entertain the form. I had to supply written request for my full medical records, which they're obliged to do within 28days free of charge, mine took a week. Sent them to Medicert with the forms and job done a week after that.
  12. I've a 690-1 Field which came with an auto safety from new so expect they must be convertible.
  13. Hi Mick, You'll have a PM Shortly ! Sold to Bigjeff pending the usual.
  14. Teague is Sold. Brileys still available. Reduced to £25.00 each including postage.
  15. Back in the good old days when Hull made Pro-Trap in 32gm 7's they were my go to cartridge for everything. Not much escaped with cylinder and 1/4. Sadly Hull stopped making them and I went into High Pheasant 30gm 7's for a good few years, then Hull stopped making those and I used 30gm 6's. I now Shoot RC Sipes through my 12 and 20. 32gm 7 (UK6.5) in the 12 and 26gm 7 in the 20. Both with cylinder and 1/4. There would definitely a market for an English 7.5 in 30gm and 32gm in my view.
  16. I have the following which I am looking to sell: I bought them a few years ago, Mobil fitment, used in my Beretta 686 Onyx and AL391. Used but not much and in excellent condition. 19. I delayed seeking help for years as I was concerned about loosing my tickets. My situation was slightly different in that I was diagnosed with stress and anxiety, which was putting a stain on me and my immediate family. i started a course of CBT last September and my tickets were due to be renewed in May 2020. I got the medical referral completed, which contained my referral information, put my renewal in and waited for the call. When it came my FEO was very supportive, we had a long conversation about my circumstances, the treatment and when it was likely to conclude. He congratulated me on seeking help and said he couldn’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be renewed. My renewed tickets arrived in the post a week after. Acknowledging to myself and wife that I needed help was the hardest part. That and being open to my immediate friends and colleagues about what was happening. Everyone was really good, I made it clear that I didn’t want sympathy, just that it was important to me that they knew what was happening. therapy finished 6 weeks ago and I now have the tools to manage it. I’m so pleased that I sought help. It doesn’t have to mean losing your tickets, for me it was a risk worth taking.
  20. Yes, l looked at them for a while a bought a scuba dude. The Nite is easily readable throughout the night. I paid less than £80 for it and it’s been very good.
