  1. I had problems finding some plastic tap cartridges last week. I came across this company who stocked them along with a huge range. Quick delivery too https://www.plumbers-mate-sales.co.uk/tap-spares-71-c.asp
  2. A bit of ‘gentle persuasion’ should do it, realistically if it’s dripping it’s broken so you can’t really make it worse with a bit of force.
  3. Hi yes it’s oiled slate on the hearth, that’ll be why he was grunting and muttering when I asked for the brick slips as he had to open it up a bit more to get the fireboard and slips either side. I’ve just measured and have 160mm either side. This was what he had to work with For some reason that photo is upside down.
  4. The guy who installed ours used Hathaway bricks but cut the faces and used them as brick slips
  5. We have just had a Stovax Stockton 5 wide fitted yesterday, just warming it up now

    F1

I seem to remember Hamilton putting Verstappen in hospital not so long ago and not showing much concern at the time.
  7. I’m struggling to understand how a gun slip can be left or right handed. Perhaps a diagram or photo please?
  8. As far as I know they don’t need to pay it back.
  9. I personally think the prices will fall quite a lot once foreign travel restriction lift and people want to release equity for other things. Recently everyone seems to be motorhome mad. There is even a celebrities go motorhoming series on TV. Wait and pounce once the prices drop 😉 Tom
  10. My other half is after a Cartier 42mm ballon bleu wrist watch. A company called watchesworld.com has one at a reasonable price advertised on Chrono24. Has anyone dealt with them before? Any thoughts on said watch welcome. thanks Tom

    Sekonda

Freeze it in a zippy bag with all the air squeezed out before sealing.
  12. All the earths together. The loop is untouched, the live is the red sleeved and neutral black. I would used the new wago connectors too
  13. The after effects of the pandemic financially seems to be that households (on average) have more savings and are now itching to spend it. Up here you can’t get a tradesman or builder as they are so busy. A friend of mine has a window and roof business and has never been busier than now. It has been reported that there is an extra £190billion in savings and without the interest rates to make them favourable to keep people are now spending. Home offices, house moves, new cars, etc. There are a lot of companies doing well out of this and probably slightly less doing badly (Airlines etc) and so the FTSE keeps a rather even keel. I am no expert on this but do have a vested interest having recently retired and my pension is in managed funds.
  14. The thing is it was at 7000 way back in 2015. If we hadn’t gone through what we have I’m sure it would be way ahead now.
  15. Well, I’ve invested in a Bug a salt gun. It arrived yesterday now I’m armed and dangerous 🤣
  16. It’ll keep the slugs at bay too 😂
  17. This is what you’re looking for 🤣
  18. I decided to retire last year after contracting COVID and spending time on a ventilator. It really made me appreciate there is more to life than chasing money. As others have said I don’t know where I found the time to work now. I do do odd jobs but am fortunate enough to be able to pick and choose what I want to do and if it doesn’t hit a 7 on my happiness scale (0 to 10) I say no. Good luck and wishing you a long and happy retirement cheers Tom
  19. Hi to all you knowledgeable gents. We are extending the rear of the house and fitting a new kitchen. I’m confident in fitting the units etc. Just not too sure where to get them from, looking for decent quality and reasonable cost. I want it to last as we are not the type to change every couple of years. thanks Tom
  20. I invested in the crowdfunding for Cornish Lithium so here’s hoping for big things 😁
  21. I’m no expert and we are looking to replace our ancient central heating system so have been looking into heat pumps and solar panels. Will be interested to follow this thread cheers Tom
  22. Charity....... in the form of RNLI, Air Ambulance, Blood bikes and any other service which in my opinion should be a service which is paid for properly by the government. I believe the majority of people would pay an extra few quid in tax to see these ‘charities’ be properly funded as they should be.
  23. Well this time last I was in the RVI Newcastle on a ventilator oblivious as to what was going on. I was out for 2 weeks but thanks to the fantastic team there I made it through. It has been quite a year, it made me reevaluate what was important, so retired from a job I’d grown to hate and now just do things I want to do rather than things I don’t want to. Hopefully we are all through the worst of this terrible pandemic and we can start getting back to some sort of normality once more. cheers Tom
