  1. I have a serial number of M387545 If that helps. The proof mark show it was proofed in Birmingham It has BNP under a crown followed by <12> 2 3/4" 3 1/4TONS PER [] " Also has a circle with a H in it nd another circle with SP in it, that is about all I can find, sorry. That of any help ? Schmoo
  2. Thanks for you reply and interest Gozzy, she has leaf spring ejectors in the forend which the RFD said would indicate she might be as old as the 60's. I have no real experience with shotguns, so wouldn't know if that is the case, but the springs are different in my newer browning that in the older Miroku. The springs might help to date her or indicate a model number. Thanks Gozzy.
  3. Thanks for that info Chuck, dont spose you have a spare user manual lying around for it ? Schmoo
  4. Ahhhhhhhhh No worries, well if you ever pop down to the south coast Regards Schmoo.
  5. Thought they made cars !!!!! I will google them and try and get a number for them. I have tried to email and phone Miroku / Browning 3 times and not had a reply as yet, doubt I will Thanks Schmoo.
  6. Beat me to it jammer600. Speak to the organ grinder jammer600 directly, very very helpful chap and as you can see very very good at what he does. 1st class job. As your only local pm me if you want to come and see it first hand. Regards Schmoo.
  7. What marks ? There is a serial number stamped into all wood and all of the metal parts ( they all match ) No other numbers there are the proof marks at the chamber ends but no other numbers. Thanks Schmoo.
  8. Hi guys and gals. I have aquired this Miroku shotgun about a month ago, have since had her reblacked and serviced. Would anyone here know what model she is ? I have been told she might be a 600 or a 800, she looks to have been made in the late 60's or early 70's ( so I have been told ) Find attached some pics of when I got her and how she looks now, as she did when she was first made, this may help to prompt some of the maturer members memories ! Thanks Schmoo.
  9. Understatement of the year that one Jammer600 !!!!!! I did believe underneath all that old rust, lack of blacking and pitting was a pretty decent tight old girl. Now you have breathed your magic on her I couldnt tell the difference between her and my brother in laws lightly used 5 year old mint condition Browning. The RFD claims she is worth something in the £600-£800 mark ( I will take that with a pinch of salt ) what she cost me and your fees I am well under that estimate. Just pleased to have saved a tired looking old girl rom the scrap heap. Top job and thanks to you again for a wonderful service. Schmoo.
  10. As promissed the after pictures, as you will all see, she is a new woman !!!!!!! The barrels are as per factory finish, mint not a pit or mark in sight. Top workmanship from JAMMER600. Top gunsmith. Schmoo.
  11. I got myself a really old Miroku O/U 2nd hand at a reasonable price as a project, I wanted a good tight gun that just needed some cosmetic work doing to it. She was very very well used, but still very very tight and had perfect bores not a mark in sight, however, the outside was a little worse for wear to say the least. A pair of barrels which I think once had a blackened finish of some description on them, but that was long gone, and had since been replaced with a sort of mottled, pitted finish, as for the action which I though was a stainless steel piece actually turned out was once blacked too, but due to lack of exterior care or just hard work in the field had long gone too. I did some searching on this forum and was put in touch with a chap called JAMMER600 from down in the old West country, spoke to him and explained my issues and what I would like done to the old girl to try and give her a bit of a touch up, jammer600 said as the gun was new to me a service might not go a miss and that he could sort the barrels for me for a very fair price, it was him who told me the action should indeed be blacked too and that he would do this for me whilst she was in bits during the service. Well needless to say 2 weeks after sending her off, back she came via my local RFD, who wanted £200 plus just to do the barrels !!!!!!!!!!! and my god what a transformation, she looks as she would have done when she rolled off of the production line back in the late 60's or early 70's when she was made ( dont quote me on that, this is what the RFD thinks) give my RFD his due he looked high and low and could not find a fault in the workmanship of Jammer600, he had nothing but praise for his work and also commented that, price wise jammer600 could not be beaten. Have a look for yourself at the before and after pics below, I will post some more later as I don't think i can post that many in one go. P.s if anyone can confirm what model she is that would be appreciated, some have said she might be a 600 or an 800, as I would like to try and locate a user manual for her. Pictures of her now to follow shortly. a very very chuffed Schmoo.
  12. I have recently got an old Miroku 12g O/U, have not got a clue as to what model it is but it looks good, handles well and works as it should. Mine has the following marking on the barrels. Top barrel .719 then followed an inch or so with a single + Bottom barrel .729 then a double ++ any ideas on what chokes these may be ? I think it is a relationship between the internal bore up the barrel and the internal bore at the muzzle, please correct me if I am wrong. Any body know how I could find the model number out, the serial number is M387545. Hope you may be able to help. Schmoo
  13. RichardH could you pm me, I know your pm messages don't appear to be getting thru your end. I would like a quote for a few pieces which need to be blued. Thanks Schmoo.
  14. How did the blueing go ? How much was it to do you barrels and how long did it take ? Schmoo
  15. Nite Site N200. Is next on my shopping list, crops and margins are getting too tall at the moment to shoot decent numbers during the day ( rabbits ) So thought I would invest in some kind of NV set up, I shoot alone, so lamping isnt an option, plus gives me ability to stay out after a late afternoon on the rabbits, crows. Any views on the Nite site stuff ? ATB Schmoo.
