  1. Us Essex Boys are smarter than that. Talks about a Rav, but pictures are of a Ford. Both look good though.
  2. Thanks Cyrus1988. And, yes I have spoken with Nick. What a nice guy. I have ordered by FF5 and you were spot on with your description. Just the long wait now. Happy shoiting mate. POL
  3. Thanks for your replies, but any of you ff5 owners know the answer to the first part of my question? I only want to know what comes with each of the three offers. The web page is not clear. Thanks Pol
  4. Hi guys I am considering buy a flapper. Either the FF5 or the A1’s Turbo Flapper. I am trying to compare the two. The A1 produced is described very well on their site and I know what I am getting. I have tried calling Flightlines over the last few days with no joy to ask about the FF5. Before I make my order, does anyone know what the difference is between:- 1. FF5 Multi Bird Flapper priced at £64.99 1. FF5 "Rapid" Multi Bird Flapper priced at £84.99 1. FF5 "Rapid DC" (dual control) Multi Bird Flapper priced at £94,99 I believe option 1 does not have a random timer/speed controller, but what is the difference between option 2 and 3? Also, is it necessary to order the Remote control key fob and receiver? What are the advantages? Does the FF5 come with a battery? If not, what are the best ones to buy? Also, how does this compare to A1 Turbo flapper? (This is my other option.) If the FF5 really worth the extra cash? What are the waiting times now on the FF5? Thanks for your help guys. POL
  5. OddJob, Is this trap still for sale? I have sent you a PM. Thanks POL
  6. Farn Thanks Welshwarrior. That's kind of you. Pol
  7. Thanks all. This is a topic that I will have to review. I'll get my son to pick up a few guns in the shop to see how he feels. Poll
  8. Hi guys. My nine year old son is ready to start shooting. He has joint me in the field over the last 18 months and watch me pigeon shooting. He has also watched me on the clays and I now think he is mature enough and understands gun safety. I would like to get him shooting clays and joining me in the hide. I've looked on gun trader and the Yildiz 410 gauge SPZ M seams a good price and size. Are these a good starter gun. Are there other better in this range? I've read mostly good reviews but some not so good. Also, he is a big 9 year old, should I be looking at one of the larger gauges, or is this the best to start out on. Is there a gauge between the 410 and 20? Is this worth a look? Finally, I can only find the Yildiz in the game version. Should I be looking for a sporter, or does it not matter as much in the smaller gauges. Sorry for so many questions, I've only had experiences with 12 gauges. Thanks. Pol
  9. What I was trying to highlight, is cover is given for the gun, in and out of the home, but restricts any loss whilst being used, which would be one of the major perils (ie accidental damage – dropping the gun etc).
  10. The recent post had been locked, so I have started another as I wanted to reply:- Be careful guys, some household insurance policies, even when the gun is specified, classify the gun as “Sport Equipment”. Below is an example of the wording provided by a “household name” Insurer:- Sports equipment Articles used for sports activities, including sports clothes specifically designed to be used for any sports activity and belonging to you. Cover is then given on an “All Risks basis” (covered in and away from the home) but and this is the BIG BUT then cover is restricted whilst the gun is in use: Another example wording:- We will pay for accidental loss of or damage to personal possessions and any other item specified in the Personal Possessions section of your schedule while that property is inside the British Isles. But not a) Loss of or damage to: i) property more specifically insured by any other policy; ii) property held or used for any business; iii) any sports equipment while it is in use Point iii) is the killer. The following may sound nerdie, but please please please all check how our guns are insured as if like mine, are our pride and joys. I am not proud to say, but I am an Insurance broker (hang my head in shame) and I did read my household insurance policy cover to cover, and did have several arguments with the provider to get the correct cover that i needed. Also, the cheapest quote is not always the best, so do flick though those policy wordings to make sure what you are buying. We do not mind spending thousands of pounds on our guns and hundreds on shells, but despise (like me too) spending a little more on insurance. The above wording was taken from a quote I received for my last household insurance renewal. When reviewing this I was really shocked at the policy that was being sold to me. It was a household name provider too! Sorry to waffle on!! Happy shooting and insurer those guns. PoL
  11. Check out this three tourch pack from Amazon. Great walking back to the truck and missing the piot holes.
  12. I've been having some good days with my set up very similar every time I adventure out. Between 10 - 15 decoys flocked shells on spring sticks and or FUDs. As the above, do I need a magnet? Will it help? I've never been out and used one. The two chaps I go with also do not have one, so I do not have access to borrow one to test one out. What are your thoughts. If they are a help, where should you buy from? It's a bit of a mine field out there. Are they much of a muchness or are some better made? I look forward to your comments. Pol
  13. Hi dad, about time you joined. See you at the farm tomorrow. Pol
