  1. Thanks. Spent an hour or so last night judging distances upto 30 yards. Found that the cap down does make a massive difference to the zero and guess is just a rough guideline with perfection achieved at night. I tried the torch in a box but wasn't as effective as the niknaks.
  2. For those unsure how to zero NV at night, I used the inside of a crisp packed glued on White paper with a concrete backstop! Worked wonders
  3. Thanks. .22, mostly rabbits open land, golf courses and hotel grounds! Came up with another croper!! Spent about an hour last night zeroing (30mtrs about 1 inch group) only to try this morning with the cap down (daily light zero) and it was completely off... Is this right/common? Or has it moved?
  4. Try posting advert at local club always comes up trumps...
  5. I think again that common sense prevails. If your likely to get spotted every time you are out. Then it's worth a 2 min call and log. If for some bonkers reason all hell broke loose and the rossers turned up all guns blasing, copters and the works then ask yourself: is your permission going to be jepodised? All for; and I agree you shouldn't, a quick phone call!!! If however your permission is 20 miles from the nearest sight of civilisation then it's highly unlikely and I wouldn't bother. I lamp in the winter at a permission that can be seen from passing trains. You'll be amazed at how many people report strange lights in the middle of fields... Happy hunting
  6. Hi all Need some help, having never drilled stock before, I want to make sure I minimise the risk of splitting the wood! All advice and help warmly welcomed! Also stock could do with a bit of a refresh, varnish??
  7. That's hell of a big one Ryan...
  8. Hi All Having taken the jump to the "green side" from lamp to Ir, after some recommendations on zeroing and anything else you think may help. As always any advice you can give here will benefit not only me but all others.. Happy hunting Hw100k Gen 1 nrvs with additional bits Harris bipod
  9. Thanks but just picked up Yukon gen 1 with extra ir..
  10. I don't know about you guys but I rarely find any night the same. With the recent warmer weather they seem to be out all day and putting their little lucky feet up and not streching out to much at night. As all said above- mix it up and be flexible with your lamp..green/red/Amber...bright and soft..
