  1. i just pass them by, or better still i sit and watch them for a while and im amazed when they just sit there under the lamp with not a care in the world, i don't eat them so i don't shoot them, bob.
  2. 00 wire wool on the tip of a cotton bud, thick'ish oil with a rust inhibitor in it, mind the bluing, and always use a cloth to hold the barrel with when you touch the rifle last before you lock/pack it away,as the oil/fat from your fingers will over time mark the barrel too. i just have a nice cloth in the cabinet that i wipe the rifle barrel with as i leave it there before i lock the cabinet. bob.
  3. +1 rich done my 12 bore over and under, top man, bob.
  4. send it to this man above, he is about the best there is from what i have seen read and now have, stunning work and worth every penny. bob.
  5. not used them yet and most likly they will go to the car booty, but that zip does look a bit to high, im happy with the MTP jackets i have, i have removed the plate velcro from the upper arms and they are very nice jackets (once washed a few times) i don't like the hood as yet but ill have to see what i think in the winter when its raining and i have to use it. bob.
  6. leica lrf 800 @ £150 will out class loads of other makes for the cash, and its 7x42, red led so you can see the readout in dusk conditions, yards and meters, robust compact and if like me you have binos too. then this is what comes out of the bag first, most of the time that is.. bob.
  7. been running a 20 tac for a few years now, just got another custom one in house running on a sako s/491 action, sublime calibre, had a play with a 17 rem and a fireball but the 20 tac has its nails in me so deep i can't see me ever changing it, bob.
  8. i have 2 MTP under armour tops here, i puchased them to use them when shooting prone as they have outstanding elbow pads etc, but i am unable to shoot prone now due to a operation on my neck this year. these are the warm weather ones, sat here not being used. bob.
  9. http://www.reloadersnest.com/frontpage.asp?CaliberID=357 hope the link works. bob. io don't run a 204 but i do run a 20 tactical (posh .20 calibre.)
  10. sent emails to all the branches on the 17hmr tree, and go nothing back at all. they don't care until a rifle goes bang, i was told a few weeks back in a shop i was in had replaced 3 rifles on behalf of "Erratic brothers" for fear of getting embroiled in a court case about the ammo issues. bob.
  11. 20 tactical (if you reload,) or a 220 swift. bob.
  12. The more you work it the better they become. don't take to it with sand paper, just apply some fine oil the the contact areas and sit with it in the rifle and work it back and forth, clean off from time to time add some more oil to the same places and over time with use it will get better, one thing for sure ? the bolt will not fall apart like an anschutz one. bob.
  13. nice one Jase, i love my 595, and so do 2 of my shooting budies, so there can't be to much wrong with it. bob.
  14. well i have found the distressed red fox calls the vixens in, fastest was 4 mins from start of call to taking the shot. then i have been using the lil rabbit on the golf courses and again working well, since i started with the fox pro i have taken 19 charlies, longest session was 2 hours but we got her in the end, i run it to a small car phone speaker clipped to the roof bars on the truck and ran the caller from inside. works well so far. ps: all charlies taken with my 20 tactical. bob.
  15. well done Jase. i'm so glad you have kept it, mine shoots like a dream running 70 noslers for charlie and 86g soft point for fallow munty and roe, and as yet it has not let me down. kind regards. bobjs
  16. jase keep it mate. i went to a 308 last year and now stuck with the same rifle as you but the blued one, will not sell it for love nor money. a 243 will do all i need and more ( and IMO, will do better than a 6.5 x 55 all day long. it has more versatility than it too.) bob.
  17. sound to me like what KENT said. send it back gary and sammy will sort it for you bob.
  18. well lads i have just got my old lanber barrels back from a lad i have known for a few years but i did not know he did such a good job. i sent these of to Rich knowning he was not in the best of health but with me going in for my op i thought it would be fine as i will not need them for now, the gun barrels had seen far far better days and they really needed a good job done to bring them back to life, here they are before they went, (not easy to see, but take it from me they are bad) the postman has just been to the front door with them as they are now, and boy am i happy, i will have to check these are the same ones i sent, they had a few dinks that even the blueing will not hid, BUT ARE THESE THE SAME BARRELS? here they are now with the reblue.i am over the moon and cant wait to go to the shooting grounds with it, i used to get asked why i ever kept the lanber over my browning, and when i was seen shooting it they all said you shoot that old thing rather well for a rifle shooter, well hold me back no longer with head held high and a big smile ill be back soon with that OLD lanber thats as good as new.thanks richbob. ill get the pics sorted asap.
  19. thay would be ok at the lower price mentioned but i would not buy another one, bob.
