  1. Will sell it on. I'm a tree surgeon and it's criminal logging everything so I save the nice pieces for my mill. It's really satisfying, you can get some lovely grains and coloring
  2. Milled a lovely piece of Atlas Cedar today, really happy with the final product, can't wait to mill the bigger chunk. Every time I use my mill I'm allways amazed at the amount of sawdust I have to get rid of. Here's a few pics for those intrested. .
  3. Had an early finish at work the other day so decided to wipe the cobwebs off my rimfire. Had a great afternoon, not a lot about but I managed to catch these chilling out in the shade.
  4. Really enjoyed that buddy, what nv are you using?
  5. Thanks lads, had a smashing weekend and had some great presents. Really have got an Awesome group of mates
  6. Thanks buddy, got in all weekend as we had a stall there
  7. No buddy same as linesman's spikes. Yeah lots of prizes, top prize was £200 and a harness worth the same, and lots of other prizes like ropes, pulleys, helmets e.c.t. It was only a small local event, in the big events like APF which is in September the prize money will be a lot more and some smashing prizes. Only problem Is all the top climbers from over the world come and compete.
  8. It was a racing strop so like you said you take the tension with your arms, your on a second safety line incase you fall. The record over the weekend on working spikes was 12 seconds which was pretty impressive. And yes 80ft is the standard competition size.
  9. The trees are Douglas firs and come from longleat. They are 92 ft long, 10 is in the ground and 82 from ground to the top.
  10. That's very kind of you to point out buddy. Don't think I could do it in 9 seconds if it was on the floor
  11. Well done underdog, you take great pics.
  12. You can get racing spikes which are on your toes, but it entered the working category just using my tree spikes. Yes it was a competition the reason I was on my own in the last race is because it was odd numbers. As for being a young mans game on the form if your 30 or over you are in the senior category. Lol missed it by a week as I'm 30 on Monday. Thanks again for the positive comments.
  13. Ha sure was a g10 watch mate. The poles are 80ft and I was wearing the spikes I use for tree surgery which strap to the inside of my legs. Thanks for all the positive comments
  14. Would also like to thank Paul223 who was there cheering me on.
  15. Not shooting related but I had a go at the pole racing at woodfest this weekend. I climb most days at work but this really killed me. Probibally not the best idea getting drunk the night before. Did pants score wise but here's my footage. Appolagise in advance for the language.
  16. I bow my head in shame, beaten by a spec op for the second year in a row. Great to catch up with you again buddy and great to meet some of the other pw members again. Had a smashing day, really enjoyed myself, had a good bit of banter and got to get my gun out of the cabinet for the first time since the season ended. And most importantly we raised some money for a fantastic cause.
  17. A big thanks to Paul for not only driving an extra 2 hrs the wrong way at the end of the day but also checking over the vehicle and getting me some extra money off. Another thank you to Brown for tagging along, being selfish in the raffle and not sharing his beers. And finally thanks to magman who kindly gave me a lift to the shooting ground. I really do have some fantastic friends who will always go above and beyond to help me. I'm very greatfull to you all, not just the mates who helped me this weekend but the mates who are allways there for me, weather it be a chat, advice or an extra pair of hands. I should also add that a lot of these mates I talk about are members of the crown shoot.
  18. I allways thought cat food but I may be wrong. Not seen a hedgehog for ages.
  19. Ha cheers mate, more like I'm editing my misses like duffryn.
