  1. Just stop feeding him, that lad doesn't need to do any more growing
  2. Finally managed to move my old vids over to the new computer. Put this together. A few clips from the back end of the season at the crown in sunny north wales.
  3. Nice bag rob, nice pics. Didn't know jay was into motor cross. The lads pretty high there
  4. I have a stihl 009 not really vintage but pretty old, I bought it to get me out of trouble one month and for some reason it's still in my shed. Fires up great and sounds sweet but has no av mounts and after 10 mins it feels like your hands are going to drop off. I think we need a chainsaw section on pw.
  5. Couldn't agree more. I really like taxidermy but to do that to an annimal is pretty poor form.
  6. There's a couple on my you tube chan philvision1 just type PhilStevens into youtube. I climb most days so I'll take my cam in to work again next decent tree. Glad you liked it
  7. Wow there's a few questions, next time your down I'll be more than happy to sharpen your saw, yes I was on spikes, no the 11kv wasn't earthed and I do wear chainsaw gloves but not whist climbing as I find them a pain. Reason the 11kv wasn't earthed is it was out of the vicinity zone and although one of the limbs had the patential to breach it was leaning the right way. To be sure we put a pull rope on it as a back up.
  8. No pal mainly spruces and oak
  9. Unfortunately every trade has its muppets. I personally like trees and take great pride in my work.
  10. We climb a tree next to the hung up tree and swing into it then start cutting away or we rod the weight off with rods and keep cutting until it falls. Says the spec op. Don't break a nail sorting out your branch.
  11. We contract to the power companies
  12. Some of the Chaos I've been sent to deal with, with the high winds. A very interesting week. . . .
  13. Around 3 hrs buddy. Thanks again for all the comments. Been really busy with these winds but as soon as I'm back to normal I'll take my gopro to work again.
  14. More like a screw loose. Cheers for all the comments lads
  15. I use a prusik on my smaller rope but find the zigzag great on the bigger stuff
  16. This tree was quite straight forward, took just over 3 hrs with tidy up and stacking logs. Doesn't sound long but it's a long time in a tree when your the guy climbing. However if there had been lets say a summer house under the tree it would have taken 4 times as long.
  17. It's a mechanical friction device, used for ascending and decending.
  18. The zigzag is a smashing bit of kit. As for a bigger sneding saw, his ground saws clutch broke that morning so he was left with the 660. Glad you've enjoyed the vid as said makes a nice change to have no hot tub or greenhouse under the tree.
  19. Took my gopro in last week whilst dismantling this oak. Tree had a big split in a limb leaning towards the HV power lines so the landowner wanted it out. This was also my first dismantle using my zigzag which worked great. Not everyone's cup of tea but thought I'd share with those interested. Good job we took it out before these winds came.
  20. Would like take this opportunity to thank you all for a great season. Unfortunately I had to go early due to some things out of my control but Look forward to catching up with you all soon.
