I have just emailed BASC and asked if John Swift still works for them? It really does beggar belief the arrogance of these associations .

Archery = Centre of excellence Lilleshall Sports Centre Newport Shropshire . Also at Meriden Warwickshire . Clayshooting could easily be accommodated at Garlands Tamworth . Pistol & Rifle shooting =Ranges at Minworth near Kingsbury / Tamworth. When Commonwealth Games were held at Manchester the shooting disciplines took place at Manchesters local ranges Bisley , Surrey , just down the road from Coronation Street. Glasgow Commonwealth Games = Purpose built shooting facility costing £thousands then destroyed immediately afterwards.

Just a thought ! BASC are sponsored by Eley . BASC provide shooting tuition at Game Fairs using Eley shotshells. Game Fairs are on Greenfield sites . Will BASC be using steel shot cartridges at these Fairs ? Will Eley be providing Eco wadded cartridges using steel shot in .410 , 28 bore and 20 bore at these Game Fairs ? If Eco wads can be produced for 12 bores in abundance , why not the smaller bores . Just thinking that all this seems to have been rushed through and very poorly thought through.

As a long time supporter of BASC can I just remind us all that BASC have always stated that they will support the phasing out of Lead in the environment PROVIDING an economical , efficient alternative to Lead shot can be identified. I have seen the development of soft iron ( steel?) shot price escalate to be more expensive than some Lead loads and although I prefer and use Tungsten it is very expensive . If lead shot is so harmful to wildfowl why is it that we have not seen significant increases in wildfowl population since the implementation of a leadshot ban for wildfowling? If lead is so harmful to the environment why is it that many lead mining communities have not shown significant mortality figures ?

Well , every bad story has a silver lining ( don't use silver shot) . I am so grateful that for years I have shot Gamebore White Gold & Black Gold cartridges . As we all know Gold is denser than steel (soft iron ) & Lead , so I should be good to GO(ld ) for years to come.🤣

Sorry Old Farrier , but I strongly disagree. Farrier said, 'Agree it’s no comfort at all although I’ll wager that more guns are damaged or devalued by badly loaded home loads .' Years ago if you had an issue with a commercially loaded cartridge and complained , often you would get a slab as compensation, now your lucky to get an acknowledgement.

This morning I received two emails from an American source saying who the English shooter was and that he had been disqualified by the Northbrook club and this was upheld by the NSCA who had then entered into a None Disclosure Agreement with the accused. These emails were clearly labelled as possibly a scam message so I instantly deleted them .

BASC members get in FREE. Planned well and taking your own food and drink ( Picnic) weather permitting there is something for everyone and you can have a fabulous time .Don't go looking for 'bargains' because of the cost of stalls prices will often be higher than buying online .

Actually a ban if any would be from registered competition shooting, only a criminal act and revocation of his shotgun licence could possibly stop him from shooting. It should not effect his coaching career unless people chose not to be coached by a person who had been found guilty of cheating. But has he been guilty of cheating? If you believe all the online posts on numerous shooting websites he has always cheated , raped many women , masterminded the Great Train Robbery , was a friend of Geoffrey Epstein and got Prince Andrew to take the wrap , and caused the coronavirus . Allegedly. But all without proof . NSCA = No Shooter Caught Allegedly .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have asked for this thread to be closed/locked on two previous occassions . We are not a Vigilante group it is the NSCA & CPSA who should deal with this if there has been any wrongdoing .

Surely anyone in their right mind would wish to clear their name if they were innocent? 'to spend 20K to win 2K ' If it was me I would be suing for BIG damages as well as the prize money . The NSCA have done themselves no good at all in their handling of this debacle . Now I believe this will open the floodgates to serious mischief .

Promatic are possibly the World leading brand , but some of the build quality is questionable and often takes a bit of tinkering to get the trap reliably working ( cost cutting?) Bowman robust , reliable and as said personal service from Andrew. BUT ! What's wrong with International maker Laporte? Quality proven product , good engineers based in the Midlands , first choice for Olympics and Olympic disciplines , plus with the pallet of clays options you get the traps at very close to zero cost after you have sold the clays at retail or competition prices .😄

Latest news from the USA . It is rumoured that the NSCA will be taking no further action. This could be because they cannot reach agreement or that they have been threatened with legal proceedings . Allegedly .

I think this may be referring to a course run by Ann Lichfield who runs the Lantra Loaders course nationwide which seems to be very well received .

Lancer , Of course you can load bucket /plastic cup wads into paper cases . No they do not swell if cared for correctly as all that I have used have a waterproof varnish coating . Finally , Lead , Tungsten , Bismuth is for pellets . Steel is for barrels .

lancer 425 , There is already a very good case material . It is called paper cases . Readily available from most cartridge manufacturers .😄
