  1. Large please, assuming they are around a size 10? PM sent.
  2. ALL .22 shooters are of course streets ahead of all .177 exponents purely on the basis that they can do the mathematical equations required to calculate the windage and drop required by their massive projectiles! Of all the .22 shooters, you Sir, are undoubtedly better than us lot as you are a air rifle armed demi-God! Evo for PM? Nah sod it, lets make him our King!!!!
  3. Are these not minicab/taxi radios? If so then don't bother with boating sites etc, completely different frequencies. Best bet may well be Fleabay.
  4. I've shot rabbits, pigeons and rats with the 'fields' out of my AA S510. None of them have failed to die when hit. Not tried squirrels yet but not expecting a different result. The only way you get .22 levels of energy transfer is to use .22 weight pellets, in which case you get the same loopy trajectory. I wouldn't sweat it, in my opinion the accuracy of the shot is far more important than the amount of energy at impact. 8 grains of .177 in the right place will cause immediate death.
  5. Do you struggle for clean kills with the 'Fields'? If so I'd ask yourself why, because I can assure you that 'fields' are perfectly adequate for dispatching pretty much all airgun quarry I've encountered. If you're not struggling to get clean kills then why change to a pellet that will be a bit more difficult to shoot accurately? Not really sure what you'd gain from the heavier pellet as it would be slower with a loopier trajectory. If you feel you need more energy at POI, maybe get a .22? Have to say though that I've never felt the need for any more than the 'fields' deliver.
  6. Another 1lb this week. Results aren't spectacular, but they are steady. Really thought I might add a bit after last week, but happy to be steadily losing.
  7. That's not a curve ball, it's just the left field option. It's well documented that you are a little partial to a budget, albeit in your opinion well built, air rifle.....you do have to wonder why you're still a bit of a lone voice among the clamour though. Each to their own of course.
  8. I have an Aladdin Challenger, used it fowling in the proper cold, and use it daily for work. So far, it's been spot on and it's incredibly well insulated. I poured water out of it on a Monday morning...that had been there from Saturday nights flight. It was still very warm and had it been coffee, it would have been a drinkable temperature still. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
  9. For ease of use, long term reliability and pellet on pellet accuracy, as well as a tried and tested hunter and target gun, I'd go for the AirArms S400/410. Had both, preferred the multishot purely because it is multishot and then upgraded to the 510. That's a bit out of your budget with scope and pump etc. I've had BSA's, Daystates, a Weirauch, a Logun and others but keep coming back to AirArms guns, there's a good reason for that.
  10. I'd have thought around the £100 mark. You can buy a second hand 3 gun without shelves for £75, and I recently paid £150 for a 6 gun with ammo safe.
  11. Even the general public muck in and get on with it when the forces won't and they're not getting paid for it. I will never forget a fireman on Clapham common refusing to wade out to help a kid in a dinghy that had got wedged under a tree branch overhanging the water, as he didn't have the correct equipment. A bloke who came over just walked in and waded out to release it. The water was no more than 3 feet deep. I was 12 but never forgot it or the reaction of the people who witnessed it.
  12. I'm guessing that the original link was to a completely different gun rather than the Guerini you see now... it was originally posted the end of last year.
  13. Got to take my hat off to these two. They do seem to be far more in touch and empathetic, as well as seemingly having a genuine desire to use their positions for the greater good. http://www.itv.com/news/story/2014-02-14/william-harry-sandbags-datchet/
  14. Maybe a dozen would be good please. As said, let me know if you'd like a hand.
  15. If you start coppicing the hazel, I'll be after you for an armful of straight-ish ones for stick making.......just warning you. If you want a hand for a work party, just shout.
  16. Membership of my local ground is just over £50/year. The discount is £1 a round and they shoot Wednesdays and alternating Fridays/Saturdays. As a working man, if I only shoot Saturdays its cost me twice as much membership as I'd save. Makes sense to me...not.
  17. I've had a 400 and a 410, now have a 510. All have been super accurate and super reliable. I've never spent any money other than servicing on ANY of them, and even that only happens every two or three years. Dunno where you heard of either issue but I've yet to hear a substantiated bad word about them.
  18. Hilux is expensive because they are good and Top Gear showed that and made them even more popular. My mates a local mechanic and when I was considering them he was pushing the Ford Ranger or Mazda B2500, same engine apparently.
  19. I've just had to extract the code from the pic which basically gave me this ... www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-chicks/slider-chicken/lb/201/175/190/.png The first number is start weight, followed by end weight and finally current weight, all I did was alter the current weight, then cut and pasted the whole address on as a picture attachment. Lot of faffing but do-able. EDIT: Ah right, PW has shortened that slightly...I'll unlink it!
  20. Another pound down, it seems to have settled with a steady 1-2 lbs a week, that's ok with me.
  21. I'd come along with the lure rods if it's a salty venue and not millions of miles away. I only really have gear for sea or fluff flicking is a possible if I can remember how to cast!
  22. Tax bands are set on the manufacturers emission figures though aren't they? In which case a modification is immaterial....until MOT time.
  23. I will generally take the bird on the wing first giving me time to get on the second as it gets up and flies away. If both on the wing then yes, the back one first and continue the swing onto the next. That said I have no reservations with taking a landed bird, I'm there to shoot as many pests as I can, the farmers haven't asked me to keep the shots sporting.
