  1. As a life long Tory voter, I can promise you that I will never vote for ANY of the mainstream parties again until they start to represent the people who vote for them and gain an understanding of what goes on outside of the polo field and Oxford/Cambridge! Say what you like about UKIP, I'd suggest that any political party that ignores them does so at their own peril. If UKIP continue as they have been then come the General election it may well be a case of whether UKIP can get a clear majority or not!
  2. I've tried it in Czech and Spain, both times, not impressed! Each to their own but I'd rather have a nice trout or sea fish!
  3. Good man, carp tastes **** anyway!
  4. "Will you be long?" "5 minutes or so...why?" "I work here and that's where I park!" How I resisted my usual stroppiness, usually along the lines of "Well, it doesn't say staff parking, or come to that, 'ugly, moody cows space' so I guess you'll have to park elsewhere!", I really cannot imagine! Must have been your calming presence!
  5. I was pretty much certain it was possible, only needs to strike the primer hard enough, had often wondered what the effect would be though. Had imagined everything from a ball bearing mini bomb effect, through to a rattling as all the shot fell to the floor having gone nowhere! You do realise that I am actually looking for a 12 gauge size hole in a tree now!!!!
  6. Good to meet you and chat Walshie! Even if we were rather rudely interrupted!!! Thanks again.
  7. Why not? If the primer hit an upturned flint point, why wouldn't it go bang?
  8. Buggrit! He's working in Glasgow for two days! Let me know if you get down this way again before you dump the beggar!
  9. Not much to choose between the two, but I know a few people who rate the 200 over the 300 (allegedly pulls better, I can't comment as I've not had a 300), all I can say is the 200, they will do high mileages...mine's currently on 165,000+, doesn't smoke at all apart from a small puff on start and has been utterly reliable bar a battery dying. My Disco has a sound chassis but the body's as tatty as they come, it will happily rattle along the motorway at 80mph, but is happier at 70 and it still goes places pretty much any other car won't!
  10. Yup, also the way I've been schooled to shoot at clay grounds. The barrels remain pointed at the ground and the gun broken until they are lifted over the safety bar in the front of the cage. Only then, when ready to shoot is it loaded and the barrels closed. As for a slip, I also use one at every stand and the gun remains in it at all times unless I'm shooting. I don't wear the 'it takes too long to keep slipping/unslipping the gun' argument. If you are organised, then you are walking into the stand having just unslipped the gun as the preceding shooter is walking out.
  11. ....and I'm working in Horsham all day. May be able to get someone to meet up with you though. Will PM you shortly.
  12. If you say so. However, in my opinion, your attitude is more than a little condescending, your posting style has several times been bordering on rude and your inability to see where you have fallen into your own categorisation is highly amusing. Suggest you try harder. Is that any more positively constructive for you?
  13. Don't suppose you get any further South at any point do you? Would be very useful, but New Malden/Kingston is a bit too much of a trek for me really.
  14. LOL! Was always going to happen though wasn't it? When you get on your high horse it's so easy to fall off.
  15. In all seriousness Doc, I reckon you could well be over exercising. 4 sessions of Crossfit, 1 Aikido and 1 yoga? Where is the opportunity for your body to rest and recuperate? Even when I used to train hard, it was no more than 4 sessions in a week.
  16. I too moved down to RC 24's from RC 28's due to an injury and found my scores improving. Still shoot them now and my scores haven't regressed. How much of that is down to it being softer and therefore easier shooting, allowing a more comfortable and relaxed shooting experience is, I still feel, a part of the debate.
  17. No.What's a car boot sale? How come you didn't get any boots for your car?
  18. Keep that thought going and you'll lose your guns. To ensure that you don't flip out and shoot someone, remove your ability to shoot someone by removing the tool. It won't be popular but neither were seat belts and look how many lives that saved. To be honest it'd be that unpopular I can't see any party risking the loss of millions of dog owner votes.
  19. ...and it's now worth how much compared to what you paid for it?
  20. So, out of interest, how do I work my dog across one of the farms I shoot over which is criss crossed by public footpaths, with regular strayers? Also, one of my dogs is exercised by doing a lot of ball retrieving in my local PUBLIC park...might be a bit more difficult when she's muzzled don't you think?
  21. At last, a post with some common sense in it. I also support the idea of stricter penalties but, as usual, it's not the law abiding majority that cause the majority of problems! Nope, you need to re-read the initial thread, especially the bit about trespassers.
  22. Standing it in a few inches of diesel for a few days is a good call. Quite astonishing what can be released this way.

  24. It's getting there, it was on the radio news this evening on 'Heart FM', only a 20 second slot but it covers most of the South East.
