  1. Sick it may be, but fairly common. Several big stars have allegedly died this year including Will Smith, Leonardo Di Caprio, George Michael, not to mention some less well known names, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears spring to mind. I don't know if it's done as publicity stunts or just that someone doesn't like the target but it certainly shoots them up the search engines/Twitter et al for a day or two,
  2. Doesn't apply to biodiesel though. MOST newer diesel will run on bio, or at least a percentage of it.
  3. Nicely done mate, very tidy shooting.
  4. 16 geese is 16 more than I've had, I've hardly seen any let alone shot at one...apart from Brents (,seen, of course)! ...and 17 duck is almost twice what I've had. I'm going to give up and take up watercolours I think!
  5. It is worth as much as a Pajero my friend, well, scrap value anyway! Seriously though, well made bio is not a problem in my opinion. The problems can arise when it's home brewed and badly processed, which is laughable, because if you get a batch that doesn't process well, you can run it again to convert what didn't go the first time, so ultimately it's laziness that's lets things down. If it was so bad, would McDonalds be running their entire fleet on it?

    Body shot

Ok, I am quite prepared to accept that a correctly placed heart lung shot will do the business, but is it as instant? That's a question not a challenge. I head shoot because I know that when I pull the trigger it's almost certainly immediately fatal and I don't think I lose anything by waiting for the correct shot to present it self.
  7. Nice shooting Evo, particularly that second group. If that's 55 yards you should **** 14 at 40! You've got 5 in a 5p there.
  8. Nor would I! You have enough trouble keeping that running as it is! ;-) I ran a Mitsubishi Pajero on it with no problems at all other than a clogged fuel filter which was expected.
  9. I ask as I have to admit, mine so far has been really ....trying! Weathers been a major factor down South, and I've been resorting to going out on flights I wouldn't normally have gone out for, and then watching duck fly by 200 feet high! Add to that the fact there is so much lying water in the surrounding land and it's no surprise the the normally large numbers of duck just haven't been building on the salt water as you'd expect and it all adds up to not very much at all in the freezer! I'm hoping the incoming spell of cold weather (yes, at last!) will give us a grand hoorah to blow the last five weeks of the season out with, fingers crossed! How are we fareing in other parts of the land?
  10. Useful forum for you, most of these guys have been there done it, sorted the problems. Like all forums they can get arsey if you charge in like a Bull in a china shop, no worse than here though, but do some research and pick their brains when you really are stuckand I'm sure all will be well. http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/forum/

    Body shot

    Absolutely spot on.
  12. Had a scan myself and as far as I can see there are no issues with running any of the surfs on Biodiesel.
  13. I am definitely going to have a go at that next time I'm on the range!
  14. Cracking looking dog as said and has all the desirable attributes. I'd have him in a flash if I could but the financial situation at the moment won't allow it.
  15. A good lens is all important. With DSLR many people suggest you buy the camera that has only the features you need rather than the flash one you want.....and then spend the money saved on better quality glass. It the lens that makes the quality of the picture.
  16. Maybe because it's something else that shows that ultra tight groups at 40 yards is not a pipe dream? Yeah, yeah, I know, that's not the point...but to be honest I've kinda forgotten what the point was. I can't belive this thread is still trickling along.
  17. Ok, first things first, if you buy Biodiesel off a forecourt it needs to have been produced to a minimum standard, therefore you should easily avoid the 'Cheap, rubbish'. It is however MUCH cheaper to process it yourself and then, the quality is all down to how well you process it. I made Biodiesel for a couple of years (after a year of buying it) and only stopped when i started a job that pays for my fuel. You can achieve close to pure bio (known as B100) at home in the garage, it cost me about £150 to build a processor and get started but I was doing £100+ a week on diesel at about £1.25 a litre. Processed, and including the cost of waste cooking oil (which averaged about 35p a litre) the B100 was costing me 63p a litre. It saved me LOADS. I was running it therough a TD5 Discovery for 3 years with NO problems other than the expected filter change just after using it. However, your man above is correct in that you MUST check your vehicle is compatible with Biodiesel, some vehicles don't like it end of.
  18. Seeing as this is in sporting pictures...should there not be a picture of some sort with the post? It may make more sense then hopefully.
  19. Don't need a Steyr mate, it may help, but the best all round shot I've ever seen is ex-military and uses a 10-ish year old AirArms S400. He understands the science behind shooting and practices a lot as well as having a talent for it.
  20. Is it not all relative? I may shoot and struggle at Southdown, Catamong will shoot it and declare it to be soft! One of the guys I shoot HFT with is a machine (well practised albeit), put him on the range and he will put pellet on pellet all the way up the range. I can't do it, MOST can't do it. Doesn't mean it can't be done.
  21. I assume it's this one http://www.airarmsownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45987&p=493980&hilit=defiant+HFT+accuracy+results#p493980 Which shows 5, 40 yard shots producing very tight, touching groups out of a Steyr. 14 shots is a bit more of an ask, but in THEORY, if you can put 5 P.O.P. then you can stick the other 9 down the same hole.
  22. I shoot for the joy of shooting. I shoot live for the extra challenge involved and the bonus that if I hit one, I can take it home and eat it. It's how I justify my shooting. It's not illegal, and I eat what I shoot, in the same way that I eat what fish i catch unless they are protected. I like fresh meat and am a carnivore, but will freely admit that it's the shooting that's the draw and everything else is bonus. I don't think it's any worse than say caravanning, or come to that horse racing, caravanning adds to pollution through extra fuel consumption s is bad for the enviroment, horses fall and die in horse racing, some will argue thats cruel. We enjoy what we enjoy and at the end of it, if you aren't breaking any laws you really don't need to make excuses for what you do.
  23. If I were these fellas I'd tell you both to take a running jump! I would have nothing to prove to either of you and as such would tell you as much! Did I ever tell you about the measured 62 yard rabbit that I cleanly head shot? No? Don't believe me? Like I give a monkeys!
  24. In this particular case it revolved around heating of sleeping as opposed to living areas when both were on the same heating zone. It is recommended that you place the thermostat in the living area as this is the area requiring a higher temperature (generally) ie 20 deg C over the 18 degs in a sleeping area, and use a TRV in the sleeping areas to then 'throttle' that area. The developer wanted the 'stat in the bedrom fror aesthetic reasons, hence the argument. However, once we had capitulated and fitted to their requirements it then turns out that the lounge (on the same floor/zone as a bedroom) won't heat adequately. 'stat is on 18, entire floor only achieves 18. The developer argued that if the rad was adequately sized then the lounge would be heated to 20 in the same time as the bedroom would be heated to 18, however, it's not that simple. Heating is a district heating system, rads are only running at 56 C and heat losses etc all had to be factored in. Resolution was, the 'stat is now in the lounge, TRV on the bedroom rad and it all works...but we had to bear the cost of the labour to resolve it, developer swallowed the cost of wireless room 'stats. Brutally, the original position for the room 'stat was in the lounge, but because we eventually capitulated and agreed to the new position, we then got held to ransom on the labour!
