Home made press , and set of bulking blocks , various sizes, trust me not as easy as it sounds..
-
Once bulked , used a heat gun to bend on a jig , rams horn lot softer than buffalo, easily scorches , lot easier to bend...

Sorry , I'm out of the country for a month now ..

Cheers gents ,just really starting to get into rams horn as buffalo is hard to find & expensive these days , that took a week to bulk the horn , 2 days to bend & shape nose & 2 hrs to fit & finish, the shank took nearly a week to get the thing straight! Last one for awhile, away now for a month, cabelas & bass pro on the horizon!

Cheers , they have grown on me too , I've passed the first one onto the keeper I got the horns off , both apparently off the same animal, think he's after the second one ,for a pair, they are comfy in the hand .

Cheers , it's different, seen a few , but never made one, going to try another with the other matching horn ,may push the curl in a bit so doesn't stick out as much..

Just knocked this up for one of the keepers , story of the horn was getting thrown out , looks like its been left out in the elements , going rotten & skanky, the keeper rescued the pair , said would have a go & make him a stick , after a lot of filing , uncurling& bulking managed to get enough solid horn for a market stick , fitted on a mottled hazel shank, should do him....

Glad your happy with them , that was the last of my buffalo..

Length varies , the two together are 49 inch , brass one longer ,obviously yellow spacers one shorter.

Everything stick related has gone stupid in price ,especially after highland horn , finished trading , buffalo horn ,if you find any was about £12 a piece for grade A , now trades anywhere between 20-40+ £ a piece, ferrules , used to be 50p tops now about £1.50 , that's for a basic ferrule, antler gone stupid prices as well , easiest way for spacers is to cast them out of resin ,colour them to your taste ! Rams horn is another kettle of fish , going to need a set of bulking blocks press etc , quite a big investment for sure in expense & time ! Harvest your own shanks ......
