  1. Thought I'd pop this on here to see if anyone is interested before it goes on ebay. As you can see from the photos its a tidy example of a 3 gun cabinet. 2 sets of keys inculded. As seen in the photo (hopefully) there are 3 holes drilled in the top where I had my ammo box bolted to it. Might be the odd light scratch or bit of paint or something but all round pretty tidy. Based just outside Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Or can take it to my work for collection which is in Corby, Northamptonshire if its easier. £60 collected Not sure why the photos are side ways but hopefully if you tilt your head to one side you'll get the gist
  2. I/'m based near Peterborough/Stamford and looking for 50 paving slabs. If anyone is lifting any as part of a job or clearence and is in the area please let me know. cheers
  3. Cheers, so just pop it back in and give it a turn to keep it in?

    .243 set up

Thanks for the info kent. To be honest it will have fairly minimal useage mainly for sitting in a high seat waiting for a fox and deer (fallow, muntjac). Although i'm not overly knowledgable obout larger rifles I understand what you are saying about barrel life and you'd never know buying second hand. What would your opinion be on a package like this http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Howa_Rifle_1500-Package_For-Sale_110624175023003 I know the not best scopes in the world but would they be adaquate enough? c heers col
  6. Does anyone else have a 22 T - Bolt? I want to adjust the grub srew for the trigger weight down as light as it will go but i'm not sure if I keep turning the screw it will fall out and knacker the trigger. Does it have a stop when t reaches its minimum or will it just keep coming out?? Any advice would be welcome col

    .243 set up

Hi, I'm going to be on the look out for a .243 It will be my first .243 and is my natural progression from a lot of rimfire use and accompanied .243 use. I now have the opportunity and clearence for my own so looking forward to having my own tool. It will only be used now and gain so don't want to break the bank. Ideally half decent second hand Ideally a set up (rifle, rings, scope, mod) Ideally private sale as would like to know about the rifle and what its done Also would need to be synthertic stock. I know i will be asked what my budget is but prefer to start off with what the seller thinks something is worth to them and then i can decide whether or not its within my budget. Like I say this won't be for a few weeks yet but just putting the feelers out incase anyone is thinking of selling theirs or knows of anything thats coming up. I am based in North Cambs/ South Lincs area and would be willing to travel a little way for the right rifle. Cheers guys (& girls)
  8. This training lead is an ideal check lead for correctional work during training or for aiding in sharpening up and polishing off your gundog. Perfect with recall, stop whistle and quartering training or simply for exercising with a little more freedom than a regular length lead allows whilst still maintain full control over your dog. The training lead has been designed by me and manufactured in the UK to a very high standard using 4mm knit braid. We have kept all the charactoristics of a traditional slip lead incorparating a 3/4'' ring and sliding stopper. The handle and ring loop have been rounded off with a moulded cleat for a nice neat finish. This is not a commercial sale as only do it as a hobby really and have a few made up now and again after having them made up specifically for my own needs and for a few friends. £12.50 + Free UK Delivery Payment via PayPal - Please contact me for details.
  9. I'm going to be looking at adding a .243 to my armoury soon but before I do I am going to need to upgrade my cabinet. I am keeping my eye out for something that will hold 2 shotguns and 2 scoped rifles. I am based nNorth Cambs / South Lincs and will travel a little way but not too far so if any one knows of anything please do let me know. Cheers Col
  10. Cheers mate, please you found the training lead useful
  11. Thanks Kent, I have ordered two new dummies, They are a little like the Dokken ones but there have a fur cover to the body. I also have a bottle of rabbit scent somewhere so will rub a bit of that on and see if that tickles her fancy. Failing that I will try something a little more less obvious as you mention.
  12. Thanks for all your replies. I am making headway slowly but like many of you have stated I have possibly been too soft on the dog and installed a few bad habits so am now taking a few steps backwards and starting things again. She is still just over 2 years so am hoping all is not lost and there is still time. She is still not keen on dummies at all but will happily retrieve a partridge over and over, I just keep refreezing it but sooner or later its going to give up the ghost so will be on the look out for road kill :( I have taken on bord what has been recommended and will be putting it into action.
  13. 6 Meter training leads - Traditional slip lead style. Ideal for walking/exercising with the freedom of a longer lead. Also a great training aid for stop whistle, recall and quartering training. These can be purchased for £12.50 inclusive of delivery. Payment via PayPal, please contact me for details. Regards Col
  14. I am on the look out for a bit of land/woodland or ideally an old unused pheasant pen that I can fix up and use as a rabbit pen for training my dogs. I would also be open to the idea of having a little bit of a syndicate with a few local gundog folk. has anyone ever done this? or even better know of anywhere around my aear that I could enquire about using. Its a long shot i know but would be ideal if i can find somewhere. I would not be interested in shooting anything or wandering where i'm not wanted. Just purely to go to the pen once or twice a week to traing my dogs. I live near to Peterborough and Stamford.
  15. Bit of a long shot but....I'm looking for a bit of land/woodland or ideally an old or unused pheasant pen or something to fix up to use for dog training. I live near to Peterborough and Stamford so something in this area ideally. Would not be using a gun nor interested in shooting anything or wandering around where i'm not wanted. Purely and simply just to go to and use the pen for dog training maybe once or twice a week. Would also possibly be open to the idea of getting together with local gundog folk and having a little syndicate or something and rent a bit of woodland and errect a training pen. Long shot I know but it seems like a good idea to me.
  16. How much preditor control do you do? It amazes me how many people over look this. Fox control is vital and should be top of your list as far as preditor control goes. This time of year you need to be knocking over the vixens before 1 becomes half a dozen or more. Would also be advisable to run a few larsen traps as clearing up all your crows and magpies will hugely increase your chances of upping your numbers with wild broods. A lot of places stop feeding straight after the last shoot whre as we keep feeding right up untill may. We have held the surviving birds from ********* off and will now repay us with wild broods of thier own. There may be many other things you can do to improve your shoot but it is still well worth thinking about the above.
  17. So...... I ended up getting a Suzuki Grand Vitara on an 07 plate. Its a 3dr and I am currently planning my cargo conversion where by I'm going to whip out the back seats and ply board the floor. Dog box up against the back on the front seats and still enough load space for what i'll need. Getting about 40 MPG so pretty happy with that. Nice to drive as well with the comfort of a car in many ways.
  18. Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any of the Openshaw Dvd's? Ideally the basics and advance training and the placeboard one. If so would you be willing to allow me to borrow them for a very short while? I have a few training DVD's which you can have in return if you wish including the David Lissett set. There have been a few mewmebers in the past that have been kind enough to lend me and I have always been more than happy to cover any postage costs and they have always gotten back the DVD's in the same condition as I have recieved them in plus I have copied my training Dvds and sent them back with thiers whn returning. I also have some of the hris green pigeon and crow shooting Dvds's that can do swapsies with PM me if interested Many Thanks Col
  19. Anyone any experience with the new shape Grand Vitras? I have seen a nice example in 3dr swb at a reasonable price. Nice looking little motor
  20. Sounds good to me.Looking at an 07 model on line at around the 7k mark with 98k on the clock. Does your have the flashy blue light up consol? does it have AUX input? You tried out the 4x4 yet? You put the wife in the boot? Bet she's well chuffed about that
  21. What MPG do you get out of your Sante Fe Jayman?

  23. I had this trouble with this and found that putting in an eliment of control into the situation in the way of a check cord went some way to help tighten up. I didn't like using thin or nylon cord or bale twine as it cuts in horribly so I set about designing and making a specific tool for the job. See my post here sales if your interested http://.forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/274904-6-meter-gundog-training-leads/
  24. I am certainly swaying the way of the Terrano. What MPG do you get out of her?
