Just curious as the lens has made it look really close. (I know little or nothing about photography)

Excellent pictures. Thank you for posting and please continue to do so.

The image was taken on a Canon R3 Body.

Canon RF 600 F/4 lens with a Canon Extender RF 1.4x attached.

Image has been cropped in Photoshop and resized for the web.

If I shoot something static, I can frame straight from camera position but in flight I normally have to crop for the best framing of the subject due to erratic and fast movement.

My eyes are not as they used to be and I'm getting week as I grow older with holding the equipment.

     Thanks for viewing

Yep I also think their numbers have decreased, used to see them all the time but not as common now.

I agree been into wildlife photography for 27 years now and I can confirm most subjects have already declined unfortunatly.

Great picture !!! I've actually recently seen two hovering close to me over roadside verges,,,, unfortunately, I was driving [quite slowly] at the time ☹️ It's amazing to see them up very close 😀

Yes always nice to observe one never mind two.

How far away was the kestrel when you took the photo?

Why do you ask that question out of interest?  I would guess approximatly 50 x 60 yards.

used to see them on a regular basis now to many buzzards and gosshawks

Shame that, not to many Buzzards and Goss near to me.

If you know the location of Goss then you may receive a PM from me.

  4. Hopefully she makes a full recovery pysically and mentally after a traumatic incident.

I would imagine a full investigation will be in process by the authorities to find out the cause of the neglegant discharge of the shotgun, no doubbt someone will be held accountable due to the severity of injuries to victim.

He has three beds in the house one in the lounge, on the stairs landing half way and bed basket by radiator in the kitchen.

He also sneeks into my daughters rooms when they are home. He has got it made that Milo.
