  1. Mr Potter I have just read your call to arms! If my region needs more guns you can count me in. It's for a good cause. I'm sure there will be many more Northerners signing up when they read you post. Regards Ken W-W
  2. Well done. Good read, much better than a magazine and bagged a pair of binoculars. Don"t suppose you noticed if they had any foundation garments? Regards ken w-w.
  3. Re: that address for bolton gun club. was there a game farm and a pheasant and duck shoot there some years ago or is it still there? i think the owners name was Woods game farm. regards ken w-w.
  4. Good afternoon, Forgot to mention the free 50 page game fair programme [in french] and the free Saturday night firework display over the Chateau. Auntie plenty of clay shooting with guns and bows'arrows, yes a 9 inch clay thrown in the air like a teal and you use a bow'arrow, I didn't look if there was a clay comp would you believe! Check website gamefair.fr you could roar there in no time on your bike! regards ken w-w.
  5. Just returned home from the French Game Fair 22-24 June @ The Chateau of Chambord in Loir-et-Cher some 280 miles from Calais. The weather was good for the event but they had heavy rain beforehand and put heavy vehicle tracking down to walk on. No problems with car parking or queing to get in. There were some 500 exhibiting stalls similar to the CLA fair. Nice to see holland- holland flying the flag. Some unusual things for sale like pigeon decoys and equiptment. http://www.palombe-mecanique.com/ was one stall complete with live woodys! Each year the fair honours a great sporting nation, this year it was Scotland, and they certainly sold their sport etc. I could not resist a Le Chameau coat for 40 euros. Yesterday I showed it to Mr Potter, a noted well dressed gent. He promptley offered me a profit @ £50! Worth a mention is on the Sunday there is a car boot style market with several hundred yards of stalls along one side of the fair selling used shooting, fishing and hunting STUFF. It was like being in heaven, something for everone. The fair catered well for new to field sport and family people with children. Reasonable priced have a go stands archery, clays and rifle. I was tempted at the running boar in a sand bank, I think it was 10euros for 7 shots including rifle and instuctor. The best bit was the 22euros or £17 for a 3 day ticket!! and free campervan parking overnight, reduced enter to the Chateau with game fair ticket. Food reasonable like a beefburger, chips and a beer 8euros. If you would like to give it a try next year at the same place, similar date they have a web site www.gamefair.fr All in all a thoroughly enjoyable weekend but i did miss being ripped off! regards ken w-w.
  6. last season first day the new beige coloured paper cased IMPAX but was very very punchy, rest of season WILLIAM EVANS MARLBOROUGH 28g 6 shot very sweet in light SBS. regards ken w-w.
  7. did any one use the new impax paper case this season in a light sbs game gun. I found them very punchy bruised my middle finger and face, over the last 45 years I've always found them to be very sweet to shoot and my friends with damascus barreled hammer guns would only use impax, I used 150 on the first day and felt ruffed up luckily I had 250 william evans marlboro in reserve, my retailer asked eley if anything had changed apart from the colour the brass the price, they said not, the cartridge is well within tolerance, any other impax users? regards ken wright-watt.
  8. By god your lucky I live in the middle of nowhere and have a septic tank ours starts back flushing! Good luck regards ken w-w.
  9. Good evening all, Kes i remember reading that warning letter in the shooting times some years back. It was a home made swivel seat, the steel shaft wore through the wooden seat. Regards Ken w-w.
  10. Good day all, some years ago a game shooting friend asked me to shoot some pigeons on peas, he said they had a couple of 100 bird days last week but had no time this week. I jumped at this offer,i was told where to park and walk along the hedge to a purpose built hide in the hedge complete with a drum seat but don't come till two. Two! i was there at twelve, decoys out gun loaded, i could see the church clock in the distance not a thing flying in the wind. I sat eating my piece and glassed the church it,s one fifty five, i'll give it half an hour. Then five birds peeled round and into the decoys, a left and right. That was the start of a 100 bird day finished at seven, my frend was five minutes out with his time! regards ken w-w.
  11. good day all yes mine to i'm in the northwest. regards ken w-w.
