  1. Used to be the wellies you would all ways buy when they were proper boots for hard use in the countryside, I am surprised Barbour have not gone the same way with there wafer thin jackets, Hunter wellies and and a Barbour Solway was my favourite kit back in the day.

  2. The locals are in disagreement over not cutting roadside grass for the wildlife, not sure if this is going on elsewhere or not, personally I have said it needs cutting and is dangerous on some junctions where the grass is restricting you view of on coming traffic, tragically a man has been killed now and it’s being blamed on long grass at a junction, the council were out the next day cutting said grass, any one else seeing this or is it just Hampshire.

  3. I know there are people on here from all walks of life so here goes, a friend of mine has been out in Africa for 6 months, he’s been perfectly fine heath wise until one morning he woke up with double vision and very unsteady on his legs, he said it’s like being drunk, at first they thought it was a stroke but that was ruled out, he has now returned to the Uk and is in and out of Hospital each day having various tests but nothing is showing up, he can’t see of feel if he’s been bitten any where, he can’t drive because of his eyesight and walking is difficult, he’s not got any worse but no better. Any thoughts from anyone who may have seen these symptoms and been in Africa.

    Thanks

  4. I must of been about 14 at the time, there was 4 of us in our little group that would meet up at break times, 4 misfits we were , getting in trouble generally a nuisance, one kid for some reason wanted to be part of our little group and would hang around with us, I am ashamed to say I gave this boy some regular verbal Mike taking, much to the amusement of the other 3 misfits, looking back I think he had all ways had a rough time at school and thought maybe we were the less evil for him if he could join us , I left school at 15 and and at 16 I was made to go on one of those £25 a week schemes for 6 months at a garage, boy did I get some stick from those lads there, every joke invented must have been played on me. I often wonder what happened to that kid at school and I bitterly regret what I did then.

  5. Is stepping down from the Green Party, shame, I remember her about 25 years ago outside the gate of my property stirring up a s storm over a communication mast that I had allowed on my land, the locals were convinced that they would be radioactive as soon as it went live, even someone who died of a hart attack was put down to it.

  6. I currently run a Discovery 4 2015 plate, brilliant Land Rover, my one is the last not to have add blue which can be a pain so try to avoid the stuff ,make sure both front and rear timing belts are done, that job will cost over a £1000 to do just had mine done. You will always hear how bad they are and yes some people have had major problems, but so have a lot of other people with other makes of vehicles that you never hear about, keep it well serviced and don’t expect to run it on a lemonade money, the ride is lovely and it will do pretty much anything you ask of it in comfort.

  7. The council have a new way of getting you to slow down in my area, they put a yellow chalk line around the huge pot holes and then just leave them, when the chalk fades someone comes and puts another yellow chalk line around them.

  8. I have just sold a car similar value to yourself on EBay in the auction,   My experience on that one was dreadful, it did sell but i had so many pushy dealers contact me, in the end it was a dealer that brought it and I had to get a couple of mates here on the day of pay and collection, personally for me next time it’s just going to be a trade in. Good luck.

  9. Absolute nightmare DPFs on short journeys, has the car done many miles because they do have a lifespan, on a Isuzu pickup I had they told me a hundred thousand miles was there life span, my Discovery 4 I sometimes take longer routes than needed just to keep the dam thing clean.

  10. Thanks for the advice, I am pretty sure EBay have given him my address for collecting, if I don’t hear from him today I will call him about payment and collection or I will cancel the sale, you just know I am in for a car load of people turning up, probably be on my own as well.

  11. Posting on from my earlier question on EBay fees selling a car, the car sold and the winning bidder called me, turned out to be someone who had contacted me while the auction was running to buy now at the reserve and end auction, I said no but he is now the winning ebayer, first thing he says to me on the phone is what do I actually have to pay, I said what you have bid and won is what you’re paying, he’s from the Birmingham area and is coming down one day this week to be confirmed, I fear this is not going to go well.
