FWB 150 was recoiless. It was a springer with a sledge held action. You can tune them to shoot higher than 6ft-lb.

Loved my Franchi. Love my Mossy 500 even more though... Can't even think about firing a semi these days as it feels like holding a wiggling cat or similar. Far superior experience with a pump. I have an improved cylinder aftermarket choke in mine. Never felt outgunned range wise.

They are both underleavers. The only break barrel that works at that level is the HW98 if one is a beginner I would have thought, and then on bags/supported. If you want a dedicated target rifle, then there are much more underleavers out there to choose from; the two rifles above plus the HW97 and 77. Again I'd echo JSB pellets and a Hawke Panorama or similar range optic. Cheap Hawkes are pretty poor IMHO, no worse that other cheap scopes, but Airmax are decent. You don't need more than a variable 40mm objective.

I shot in the HFT Worlds in 2014. Three of the class winners used Hawke Panoramas. I fitted one to my HFT rig and all my hunting airguns as a result. They still give great results. The basic model Hawkes in comparison are very poor, they only really come good in the mid-range upwards IMHO. MTC are awful for white-out and glare at any price. Nikon are OK, but Nikko-Sterling are bargain basement stuff in the lower ranges. I do have a couple of Gold Line 80s scopes that perform well still though. Minox ZL3 budget range are good value. Very clear to my eyes at least, but a proprietary reticle. The thing is that YOU need to look through what you are interested in.

Yildiz are a good bet. A gunsmith pal recommends ATA as well made. He mentioned it in conversation rather than trying to sell me one.

Yep. Same goes for AAA shotgun loads. They ricochet like crazy. Similar ballistics equals equal twangs.

I had a chat with a member on here years ago about shooting in a paddock. He was finding that .22 shorts ricocheted badly and asked if anyone locally had an FAC air. The air option was a LOT less pingy! That said, I had a gut churning ricochet from a 10.5 ft-lb HW97K once. Unbelievable whine from such a low powered projectile. Pellet must have hit a flint after the it passed through the rabbit.

I was genuinely surprised that Marshall took three rounds to get any sort of rhythm. She's damn good, but Shields is superlative.

The Stutzen was a way to offload a lot of outdated Airsporters sitting unordered at BSA. Agree that the LGU is not that impressive close up. Find another shop...

A .177 FAC springer is an option. HW80 or Diana 48 or 50 for example. I've never had a problem with pass through in .177. It has happened but the quarry is still dead. A few years back I watched a chap shoot very well at HFT with a his 'new' second hand HW80. At some point we all got chronoed; the thing was putting out well over 12 ft-lb! Bloke had a fit and almost ran back to his car to dismantle the blasted thing. Obviously his score card went in the bin.

Land too. They stopped production a while ago, and it's always in demand.

A few bargain HWs on Guntrader. Secondhand may be the way to go. £225 for a mint HW35 is better than anything off the shelf new at that price. Second hand or borrowed scope and mounts with only £75 quid left in budget though, or Weihrauch diopter at £90+ secondhand also. Uttings have 4x40 Hawke at £55 and mounts at £20 if new is desired. That said... I bought a second had Stirling scope with steel mounts for £10 delivered from Farcebook marketplace not long ago.

Ernie Shavers, George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Ron Lyle, Gerry Cooney all had a better punch than Wilder to name the first to spring to mind. Liston's jab was insane. I think the danger comes from Wilders ability a decent punch from an odd angle. As you say one lucky shot is all that it takes! Fury v Usyk would be good. AJ will get walked over.

I agree with the above, but not strongly enough to put money on. If Wilder has a canny enough coaching team behind him, he may find himself a strategy that foxes Fury the same way that Fury did him in the second fight.

I've used Kent Velocity for 'odd' shot sizes before, as the ultra thin plastic allows you to see the shot through it (good for buck or slug). They reload fine. They must be about the worst cases on the market. I prefer Fiocchi 67mm cases though. They last forever or so it seems. Not suggesting anyone does the same, just my decision.

Years ago everything from lino, new clothes to dishclothes were sold door to door. If you travel, and have no use for a fixed location outlet, door to door sales are still an option, with little in the way of overheads = cheap. No doubt wrong uns sometimes but not exclusively. I've known some decent people hawk goods and carry out trades door to door. Apply the same amount of caution that you should apply to E-Bay...

You can cut springs, alternately you can, if stuck, get one made. Several places online do custom springs. You will need to measure coil diameter, thickness etc. You could always order a couple of coils overlength to play with tension etc. High tension teflon coated springs are available in the US.
