  1. Naff all for me with 10k invested but only for one year. The wife gets numerous wins but has the full 50k invested.
  2. Mine went up about £90 on top of the £50 last year. So a quick phone call got nowhere and the search was on for someone else. This was with Aviva, and it didn't take long to get better cover for £95 cheaper than last year with a company called Quote me happy. Stupid name and you would think a **** company. Guess what, they are underwritten and owned in a round about way by Aviva|||
  3. Another 14 using my favorite mode of transport. Total = 393
  4. Put some pencil lines dead centre on locks and catches on both door and frame. Make these visible when door is pushed closed. Adjust accordinly and that is good starting point for fine tuning.
  5. Iv'e got 3 myself still boxed and possibly unused. Keep thinking about getting shut but never get round to it. Steam roller and a traction engine plus something I cant see properly at the back of some cuboards. lol
  6. Gutted, I was booked in for the pre TT in Castletown the week before.
  7. Been through similar and I used my House insurance as it offerd free legal advice on boundary disputes. It cost me nothing for surveyors and legal fees and I ended up with a 2m extension down the side of my house on the ********** neighbors side.
  8. Iv'e just renewed mine. Aviva was £390 up £50 from last years expensive price. So a quick comparison quote had Quote me happy and General accident over £100 cheaper, plus I got better extras. Another strange thing is the excess. Every £100 + or - seemed to only alter the price by £10. So for £30 I have my excess at zero and I will take a chance and save £300 if I do have to claim. Both are owed by Aviva acording to my son who works for Aviva. Speaking to the helpline guy said they have removed or altered the perks like having other insurances with them. So loyalty is worth naff all.
  9. 6 last night. Missed about 20. Must get out more. Total = 29
  10. I got a Hero 8 black before Christmas and so far got nowhere with it. Currently trying Shotcut as an editor but struggling mainly due to having old laptops. Most of the time they cant keep up and everything is juddering or crashing. I did get 1 video uploaded to You Tube and when I played it the bloody files got mixed up and played in the wrong order. That took about 2 days so was not happy. The files are massive if using the high res settings with stabilization, so lots of storage needed on the SD cards and I also invested in a decent power pack as the batteries only last around an hour in use. Another apparently good free editor is Davinci Resolve but I cant seem to get it working on my laptop. Iv'e wasted days trying to produce video's and spent a small fortune on extra's and still at Sq 1.
  11. Its been dry now for 3 years so definatley working. I could go down another meter but it gets harder to fit. The side batterns are the strips of wood that are fitted between the long lenghts at the woodyard for airflow. And free as normally scrap.
  12. After years of trying to sort mine out the only thing that stopped it was replacing the sarking felt. I fitted sottit vents all round, put large air vents in the gables for a through draght, made sure the insulation was well back from the edges, fitted plastic vents between the sarking joints to improve air flow. Considered fitting a fan to move the air around and possibly venting the ridge tiles. My house has very little head room, infact I can only just kneel up in the centre and what happens in winter is the frost forms inside on the felt and melts during the day. If its not windy then its shower time. My working solution was to cut the old felt out leaving about 2" on each side of the roof timbers about two 3rds down and screw some 1/2" batterns to the sides with roofing membrane between them. Not a prety job but it worked.
  13. 33 from last night. All from the homemade night vision setup as nothing about during the day. Similar story with the above permision previously. = 1486
  14. £2300 last year for a straight swap with a WB boiler through British gas in a terrace house.

    Acorns

The oak tree at the bottom of my garden was laden with them. Raining acorns in the wind. Today I saw 3 woodies just picking them off for no apparent reason? There was 4 but 1 got lead poisoning 🤔. Only ever seen Jays and Squirrels after the nuts in previous years.
  16. My garage floor is carpeted in anticipation of me getting kicked out of the house.
  17. I've won naff all with 4k but the wife has the full 50k limit and constantly wins a couple of £25 every month and the odd 1k prize.
  18. I was on it for years for crohnes disease. Only got taken off it due to something new that worked better. It never seemed to bother me.
