    sausages!

It is lean - You need the fatty pork to balance it or the things are hrd as the devil when they're cooked. Rusk helps as weel - stops all the fat running out when you cook them. Do give them a try, because they're incredibly tasty.
  2. Contact BSA - they're the new owners of GAMO, and are responsible for supply of spares to the trade. However, in my experience they're not exactly falling over themselves to keep up to date on older models. Their attentions are firmly on new products at the moment and customer service has dipped a bit as a result. You'll stand a better chance of getting older parts if you make your enquiry through a BIG dealer who'll less likely be fobbed off by BSA.
  3. 2000 pellets in a weekend?! hve you got the fully automatic belt-fed webley raider or what? crossman accupel are good, as are the air arms pellets.
  4. Used as a projectile coating because of its properties as a high temperature dry lubricant.
  5. You need to decide if you want a hot smoker or a cold one. Hot smoking (rough smoking) is basically cooking meat or fish over a very smoky heat source, whereas cold smoking is done at a much lower temperature for a longer time. Smoked salmon for example is cold smoked - the fish is prepared by steeping it in a brine cure, then smoked to preserve it and to add flavour. Cold smoking is more difficult and more time consuming, but if you get it right it can be very rewarding. Hot smoking is easier, and can produce excellent results - just remember it's cooking your food, not preserving it.

    sausages!

OOOhh! I do like a nice mincer! I got a hand cranked mincer for a tenner, and my first sausage filler was made from a converted mastik gun! Necessity is the mother of invention after all! All tips from experienced sausage makers are gratefully recieved by me!

    sausages!

Any keen amateur sausage makers here? Rabbit and squirrel sausage; 2lb boned out rabbit saddle meat 2lb boned out squirrel saddle meat (you'll need a fair few greys to get this amount!) 1lb extremely fatty pork belly - ideally the bits butchers think are too fatty to put on display! 8 oz sausage rusk softened with a little bone-stock or water* sausage casings* * you won't get them in the supermarket, but any half decent butcher will sell you enough to make loads of sausages for a couple of quid. 4tsps salt 2tsps black pepper 1tsp white pepper 2 handfuls of herbs - best ones are thyme and chives imo. coarsely mince all the meat, add the rusk, add the herbs and spices, fill skins. Fry and enjoy!

The derision I hold for people like steve k knows no bounds, and I'm not apologising for it. The fact that I've been censored and yellow carded for humorously illustrating the fact that he is archetypically representative of the type of person who plays straight into the hands of already ill-informed people clamouring for unecessary legislation, while his posts remain for all to see, speaks volumes. I've been a member of various fora like this one, and quite honestly would never get a chance to post derogatory statements like the one I did, because the moderators would have spotted steve k a mile off and prevented his irresponsible b*ll**** from dirtying up the threads. I'd quite like to continue owning my air-rifle, using it to provide food for my table, but the more people like steve k are allowed to post their mindless **** on a forum like this, the closer we come to the inevitability of it being quoted in the red-tops as another reason to introduce draconian control laws. Every single quote from the likes of him is like a bullet being clicked home into the magazine of a rifle that I'm very much afraid will end up being pointed at the majority of us who act responsibly, with safety and repect for our quarry at paramount importance.

Probability of this small minded shrieker of a **** being a forum troll.... 99.9% The 0.1% chance that he's genuine actually frightens me.
  10. That sunbed socialist Sheridan is doing what all politicians seem to do these days; pandering to poorly informed and media driven public opinion. Responsible airgun owners can protest at this idiotic legislative drive as much as we want, but let's face it - we're going to form a tiny minority of voters and our voice will be drowned out by the rabble that the likes of Sheridan is rousing. Join the countryside alliance. It may be percieved as an upper class pro-fox hunting body, but as far as lobbying power and media access goes, they are our only chance of stopping this crowd pleaser of a law from taking effect. "United we stand, divided we fall" has never been more true. As in angling, divisions in the ranks of shooters will simply present a confused and disorganised front against the ignorance and might of public opinion. Most of the people who support this proposed law will never have seen an airgun, let alone knowing anything about them. Look at the comments on that scotsman livebaiting article and you'll see what I mean - despite very strong unbiased evidence to suggest it's a practice that will ultimately risk our native fish stocks, the comments are full of "sod the law, I've always done it and I'll continue to do it...." thus playing straight into the hands of the antis. We must present a united front, and demonstrate our responsibility. Sites like this are simply a mine of quotes for anyone wanting to ban airguns... a veritable ammunition dump with an unlocked door. I doubt I've even managed to read 10% of this site, yet I could still point out a few choice threads where airgunners talk about illegally converting 12ft/lb weapons, shooting at entirely unsuitable quarry, and quite frankly talking about owning and using airguns like SAS obsessed nutters. A gutter press sensationalist journo could probably convince hundreds of thousands of people to vote for a ban, just by spending half an hour quoting some of this site in a short article. Think about it guys and gals, we need to be whiter than white and lead by example... IMO the 'militarisation' of airguns is just another nail in our own coffin. Be responsible, abide by existing legislation, shoot safely and by doing so demonstrate that any further legislation is unecessary. It's our only chance.
