  2. Following a sad encounter with an embankment in the snow my 2000 V plate Land Rover Discovery 2 was put on its side. The insurance company have allowed me to break it, they then want the destruction notice. The good bits - really good engine with new injection wiring harness. Clutch and dual mass flywheel have done 8k only - gearbox and drive train are all good. Loads of bits available and vehicle is still running / driving until next weekend when dismantling will begin so you can come and see for yourself. Disco is dark blue. Please contact Ross (my mate ) to arrange and talk money. Ross - 07711712527

  4. I am having problems with my night vision. I have a B grade Archer with a Firefly laser on top. It looks like the laser has packed up main unit is OK. I am being told that I cant see a replacement until next year and that would be a Dragonfly unit with pica tinny adapter - I am meant to be sorting some stuff out for clients and this has dropped me right in it. Does anyone know where there is a dragonfly or firefly that is nice? Please message me thanks.

  10. Hey guys, This scope is brand new out of the box and has never been fired on top of any gun. I had another Leupold scope, which I had to send back to the USA. They sent me this one back as a replacement, in the mean time I had bought another scope to use before this one arrived, so now it is surplus to requirements and is being sold. Leupold VX-7 3.5-14x50 LR Varmint reticle. I can also provide the covering letter GMK sent me as to when the scopes came into the country etc... Scope comes with everything in the images, flip up covers etc... I can supply some more images if further are requested of specific things, please ask any questions either on here or by PM, I live in the South East (Buckinghamshire) and anyone is free to view the scope before they buy. PM for contact number as I dont really want to give it out over the forum. Offers must be at least £1000 Thanks, Steve

    Zeiss

I have seen through a "real Zeiss", and a Duralyt... I have a Duralyt mounted on my .308 700 LTR, and find that it handles recoil ect... Just fine. I shot a Muntjac last saturday at about 90yds at quite a low light dusk with no problems distinguishing the deer. I think there is no difference "really" with the Duralyt or other Zeiss models. I got the pleasure of looking through a target Leupold the other day and I think its about the same. Wont give you a drastic advantage IMHO... Steve
  12. I would say try the suppliers the guys have listed above in this thread ... To be honest, with inflation etc... you wont be saving "tonnes" of money in ammo with reloading until you are recycling cases and turning out a few etc... Also... I have to agree with njc110381, I feel Ackley's comment was sensible but make of it what you will, its up to opinion but the truth remains that for most shooters, unless paid for it/selling on meat. The cash flow is totally negative AKA all expenditure, which also means stopping shooting will obviously help you out of a "situation" faster as there is more finance available then. But yeah, Privi is pretty much as cheap as it gets, but another guy on here, Frank? Used to shoot American Eagle for foxes and the like, and killed many, if the rifle shoots well it will kill as good as a "premium"/"better marketed" round Steve
  13. Oh okay, il try that on the next few once "fixed" back up ...you did a good job on those Steve
  14. Did the teeth ect... stay like that? Because normally the tusks at the front fall to pieces on some? Good job! Steve
  15. I would shoot someone else homeloads in my gun, their gun isnt magically stronger and if they followed a within pressure load im sure it would be fine.... You could probably swap that stuff no problem Steve
  16. Its not going to be the stock or anything because .22LR recoil is so light. Chances are its also not scope rings ect, as again, the recoil is so light. As for it being fine at 25yds, it "appears" to be fine, there has been no time for the bullets to diverge, so the problem is only apparent at 75yds, but it is still there at 25yds, you just cant tell because its so close to the muzzle. Check the scope and double check the rings ect... If everything including the scope itself on your optics seems to be good then look at the stock. If it was removed by the previous owner there is a small chance it is sitting funny or something. Try a different brand of ammo? Most common ones are: Winny subs, Eley Subs Steve
  17. That looks good, is that a custom thing or an off the shelf? Steve
  18. I think you should now be in a fox hole...prepare for the wrath of legislation quotes and best practice guides Although, shooting a little beaver with something sort of like shotgun or >.22 centre fire seems a little harsh... + Im not sure how legal it would be :yp: Re-introduced to be shot by a hunter would annoy me considerably if I was a beaver.. Steve
  19. Nice fox!...looks a very good size. Also you generally can show exit holes, but put "graphic" in the title if its bad, so people know. Im sure on a shooting forum, in the sporting pictures section, people can at least understand they might encounter shot game/vermin! Steve
  20. Original source: Gun and Game Forums (USA) 22 Hornet - 45 grain Hornady. Range 70 yards. velocity 2500 fps. 110 lbs doe. Bullet entered behind right shoulder, angled forward thru lungs, penatrating left shoulder. deer traveled about 50 yards. Bullet Found under hide. recovered weight - 39 grains. Not meant as a thread crasher. Thought you guys that shoot the hornet might find it interesting. Steve
  21. Nice dog!...I wish I had one to go get game for me Steve
  22. This video got the CEO of this company into a lot of trouble with PETA and people like that Its only because in our mind we see an elephant as really cute and nice, when its just another herbivore really, which can be killed with a gun just like anyone else. I don't think they should be given any special treatment because of that, the locals have killed them in much worse ways for years! If I was an elephant I would rather be shot, than stabbed to death by people chasing me, that's for sure! Steve
  23. The religion of christianity is created by man (NOT BY GOD), in origin the bible says we are saved through Jesus and that the body of christ itself is the people that make up the church, not the building and singing songs....... No where in the bible does it say to control one another, or to judge one another, or hate or kill (Jesus came to fulfill the law and the old testament law which calls for stoning and sacrafice of animals by the jews was done away with in the new testament [time of Jesus]). In this topic it has already been said lots of times it is used to control or punish others, or to cause trouble? In the bible itself it says not to change the message or distort it to others, and you are responsible for that if you do! It also makes very clear that the reason this world is so messed up is because of free will, it is made clear in the bible that if you are willing to go against something and sin anyway (original sin), God cant make you do anything you don't want to. As for the bible not being literal...... The bible is clear that we should be doers and not just hearers or listeners of the word. Also you only have to read it and it seems very literal in its language to me..."do not"..."shall not..." ect. Where people have a problem with it being literal or not is in the areas of revalation ect...where pretty much its a best guess as to what you think of it, but as for sin and the things that change us, it is quite clear I think. As christians we DO NOT hate people, we are called to love them unconditionally, however we do disagree with the things some people carry out or do as part of their lifestyle. Are we as bad as the other side? A lot are pointing fingers at this pastor for doing what he did saying he caused something, however I am hear to tell you it would HAPPEN ANYWAY...I dont know how much of the quran you have read, but it DOES call us to be slaughtered if we do not accept islam willingly. It calls us infidels, and through that basis we are already lower than a muslim, in fact we are pigs  ....the whole theory of islam is completely counter to democracy, considering if your born female your at an already terrible diadvantage especially if born in a "strict" country...with the not being able to read and all..... They also call for the outright killing of homosexuals, or anyone who breaks aspects of their sacred law. I have had this debate many times and in case you cant tell, I am christian ...and as far as I am concerned I have experienced Gods supernatural power that I do consider real. This causes the BIGGEST argument in the whole of this...is any of it evidenced?.....the short answer is NO. This is why atheists do not exist: They cannot say with certainty that there is NO God, I cannot convince you with fact that there IS a God, so it all comes down to belief...e.g----> until we take up a faith we are all in the agnostic zone..havent you ever experienced something you cant explain? What it all comes down to is FAITH, Faith: "Faith is the substance of things not yet seen but hoped for"....faith comes through hearing the world and experiencing God, the bible also says we need to make the effort to go to God. But it also says Gods knows those who will be saved, and its the holy spirits conviction that changes people, and its not our responsibility so I don't try anything with people, just give my point of view. :yp: My over enlarged 2p..but it may or may not now get flamed haha Steve
  24. I think if they were cleanly killed by the airgun then as far as ethics go, its actually not that bad is it? On here we have even seen foxes killed by airguns so no doubt they have it in them for a goose. A shotgun or higher powered rifle is more wanted, but in the moment if its dead the same thing is accomplished. Also a lot has been said of "best practice" guides, but those guides are not the ultimate guide.....nor are they created by gods, and I am sure they are not perfect... I am waiting for the mods to close this which eventually is inevitable :yp: Steve
