  1. Yes I think they were, even a little bit drunk perhaps. Blackpowder
  2. Yes but trying to put them on here is beyond my patience. Seen 3 or 4 bumblers in a hand sized piece of earth very sticky it is too , usually steer clear of wasps but the ones seeking the nectar seem totally non aggressive . Blackpowder
  3. I have a willow hedge around my allotment patch first to draw water from a poorly drained site second to provide a bit shelter from a wind blown site. This past week there has been an incredible invasion of insects, mainly bumble bees but wasps, bluebottles and butterflies, attracted it seems by aphids on the willow bark. Close inspection showed masses of them tightly clustered and apparently according to an internet site excreting honey dew. The ground is in fact sticky while the myriad of insects are not eating the aphids but seem to be feeding of the ground and the foliage below the aphid colonies. Certainly great to see so many bumble bees around. Blackpowder

  5. That is a good price, bought a medium pork pie at Morrisons today £1 : 65 and will do me two days and it is a really nice pie . Lack of choice I am afraid, or drive 8 miles to said Morrisons.
  6. Every now and then a pork pie seems the order of the day for a mid day bite, into the local Coop where a nice lady assistant points me to the appropriate chill cabinet. Nothing to be seen except packs of 4 mini pies, really wanted a larger one but hey mini is better than zero, just the thing to accompany a freshly picked greenhouse tomato. Brew made and seated cut the first victim in half did not look like pork pie, took a bite and UGH. Looked at the label on the packet Vegan Pies never bitten anything so tasteless texture well looked like sawdust and mist like the sweepings from a butchers floor would be more appetising. WARNING read the label, because something looks like the usual it may not be so. Blackpowder

More bad news for the shooting community after one man was shot dead and three people injured in the Isle of Skye and mainland. A man was tasered and arrested following the incidents on Wednesday morning on three isolated communities on Skye and Lochalsh. Not known if the gun or rifle as a legally held weapon but there shall no doubt be fall out for the shooting community. Blackpowder.
