Vaughan 24oz steel eagle, use it every day.....best by a mile.
  2. Just nearly died choking on a wine gum when I read that Rich.
  3. I usually do straps at 1200mm, barring obstacles and screwed to blocks with 4 or 5 screws. Biggest obstacle is getting trusses in level as the brickie has set the wall plate at times and not a joiner. Seen some horrendous attempts at joining wall plates.
  4. Fantastic result Auntie, big conrats to you and the rest of the team. You should be very proud.
  5. Big congrats to all Auntie, look forward to seeing the pics.
  6. I don't use them unless I have to......ie sat afternoon when everyone else is shut. I tend to use local suppliers as they do look after me but quite often ITS London, DM Tools and Toolstation work out cheap, especially for powertools. Usually quick delivery as well.
  7. Cracking effort mate. Oh I'm not that much heavier than you and it didn't bloomin help me turning sideways.
  8. I did wonder, it sounded crazy to leave it until it was further out as it was so quick. Nice gun by the way.
  9. That's a heck of a score in those winds Keith. When I was on stand 12 I heard somebody say 'Keith said take the quartering bird last', was that you? The fella I saw try it hit one pair like that and missed one pair (didn't see his others).
  10. Good news Nick, a registered shoot I can get to in less than an hour.
  11. Cheers fella, I'll take you up on that offer.
  12. I'm gonna do it but I'll have to borrow a bloody beretta to shoot it.
  13. I'm a landlord and most of the replies I've read here I agree with....essentials are landlord gas safety certs, periodic electrical testing, EPS and bond schemes (if you take a bond.....2 different schemes if you look into it) and assured shorthold tenancies. Only thing I do a bit different is I now take non-refundable 'arrangement' fees instead of deposits. Basically it's an amount upfront like a deposit but instead it supposedly covers viewings, generating a tenancy, paperwork, etc. I can't really take as much as I used to with bonds but I don't have the hassle of the bond schemes to deal with....and I got cheesed off trying to agree (disagree) with tenants how much money they should get back. It's a bit of a grey are with the law and some might say if it went to court it could be construed as a deposit but I have a clause in my tenancy agreement and my solicitor is happy with it. Oh and if you are getting tenants to pay elec/gas/council tax (this is the norm really) then make sure the council and gas/elec people know the tenant is paying and not you (or your friend). Don't take the tenants word for it....check, they could be running up bills in the house owners name. It's not without hassle renting houses so good luck to him.
  14. I actually thought about that the other day, can you message me his number. Whiskymacs Sporting clays ........should I get CPSA registration?? Hope Cat and MC don't see this post.
  15. I looked into this a while ago and am still considering it I suppose (just to tight to part with the hard earned ) and the trap that came out the most reasonable was the Acorn Autoclay 65. You can buy it with a tilt table for loopers as well as standard elevation changes for teal, etc. It is available with trolley, etc also. Can't remember exact price but it did work out more reasonable than the rest.
  16. Sad news. Condolences to Skyshooter's friends and family.
  17. Try a bottle cap full of whiskey in the cold weather, always remember my grandad doing this and I still do it now on occasion. It might not fit in with your heath kick but it hits the spot.
  18. Went to Kingsley today with Nicky T and found it very enjoyable with a decent mix of targets. Only real problems were the 3 stands into blinding sunlight  . I shot 73 and Nick was in great form with an 85. Bumped into Ainsley and a couple of his mates, Ainsley was sporting his new 'super shooter'....though he doesn't have the matching cap and bag yet.
  19. I see you've obviously had a lot of success with Jeyes but I've tried it in the past and it most definitely didn't shift the red mite in my cabins. It seemed to work initially but they came back.....I just don't have that problem with creosote. Creocote I've no use for as I use Creosote and if precautions are taken when using and storing it then it's a super product. I agree with you about Cuprinol though, I find it to be superb although not for red mite ).
  20. Never had one tainted yet and had hens a long time.
  21. Go to an agricultural supplier, if they sell a lot of fencing stuff they will probably carry creosote.....you should be able to buy it with a bit of flannel. Oh and your dead right on the red mite Sprackles, I've used creosote since I was a lad on hen cabins and it's the only 100% way of killing the little bu ggers.
  22. Not after the way I shot at Hodnet.
