Ok dekers i was just wondering what people think of both calibers and there preferences i have got a .308win, but its a tad over kill on rabbits, and i was after a light rimfire rifle that can do all that i am after, which i have found out is definately the 17hmr. So thanks for the great replys guys .

I totally agree with the last post, i was wondering how people are rating the 17hmr as a rabbit/fox round.

17hmr rounds are half the price of centrefire rounds £14 for 50rnds is relatively cheap compared to £1 per shot on most centefires.

i shoot a .308win so any rimmie is cheaper to shoot, i just dont want to be under gunned thats all and if i see a fox i dont want the anticipation of thinking is the round guna drop the fox or not

never used a 17hmr before so just trying to get a good idea what im getting into before i buy, have slots for both and cash for 1.

not sure whether this has been discussed before but i was wondering what people prefer 17hmr or 22lr. I no what the differences are on paper and have used a 22lr to great effect i just have a slot for 22lr and 17hmr on my ticket. just wondered what people think of the 17hmr compared to the 22 or if any body wants to let me come out with them in exeter to see a 17hmr in action that would be most appreciable.

All though i didnt agree with rimfire boy saying the are like spanner iv been shooting for about 10 yrs and was in the marines for 2, so i dont need people being like that, i was after proper answers not people trying to under mind people, thats not wat this site is about, its about people passing there knowledge onto other people.
