I bought a brand new B725 20 bore about 3weeks ago and have put around 400 shots through it. So far the top barrel fails to eject the spent case about 80% 0f the time - the case sticks about 2/3 elected. This has happened with 3 makes of cartridge with varying head brass lengths. Bottom barrel does the same but only occasionally. Any one had similar problems? The gun will be going back this week for a refund I think.

Am looking for some 20 bore ITM or Hevishot cartridges to either buy or swap for the same in 12 bore.

it would probably spoil the ecology. There was a mad plan a while ago to pipe water from Keilder in Northumberland which is acidic peat water to Yorshire dales which is alkali limestone water. Plan was abandoned due to the environmental damage it would have caused. On the other hand taking water from river just to irrigate crops also causes huge ecological damage

Have ben trying to sell them since the end of the season, no rush just want rid of them - may be moving soon and don't want to be bothered with all the hassle of installing a safe in the new house.

Tried that and Gunwatch but got a couple of daft offers or folk wanting me to send them to an RFD miles away to be looked at with no certainty of purchase. Looks like miserly low px is the only route.

Sadly with Packham and his ****y ilk I don't think there will be any shooting in 20 years time

Is the market for second hand guns dead at the moment? Have been trying to sell a used game gun and auto of a good make for the past couple of months on Guntrader and Gunwatch without any success. A few time wasters and no hopers but only one genuine response. Looking at the ads on the forum looks like a lot have zero responses. Don't really want to take the very poor p/x prices and this would leave me with another to sell as am thinking of packing up completely after all of the nonsense and poor publicity for the sport following the farce with the GL.

I think the requirement for a dog will put a lot of folk off, some are just not in the position to have a dog

Threats etc. do our cause no good at all. Am almost at the point of packing up altogether, the hassle and negative publicity are things l can do without

This sort of thread annoys me intensely. Folk justifying killing large numbers of so called pest species of geese on the general licence. It does our sport no favours at all and would create great ill will if publicised by Packham and his ilk.

Am very surprised at the number of replies here. Compared to the uae of single plastics (milk containers,water bottles etc.) most of us use the volume of plastic cases and wads is tiny. Will use plastic cases all of the time with fibre game loads and plastic with pkastic for fowling loads

My aya no4 inherited from my father is IC and half or there about and has killed very long wigeon and geese with the right barrel. My browning 725 which is 4 years old has never had the 1/4 @ 1/2 tubes changed since l got it. My foreshore maxus us 1/4 choke and works fine for ducks and geese with itm, itx and hevishot from 31g to 5yg is 5s to 1s

Have tried gunwatch too but again time wasters offering a lot less than asking or folk way out of area expecting me to travel a long way to meet with no certainty of a deal. May well have to do a part ex 2 for another but then that leaves me with another to sell when am thinking of packing up.

Has anyone had any success with Guntrader for selling guns? Had 2 advertised recently which cost a bit and all l got was time wasters and no hopers. I don't want to go down the part exchange route but just to sell them. Dealers values to buy them off me were a complete joke.

Read the article in the newsagent this evening, the author knows nothing of modern fowling and should be ashamed of himself. The editor of the magazine can have no credibility or professional standard to allow it to be published. The author claims to be a game keeper - wonder how many birds are wounded on driven days and not picked?? Especially on so called extreme pheasants. The older I get the more I doubt the ethics and morality of large scale commercial game shooting.

So why bother shoot them?
