When you consider the body to promote game meat sales is called 'Eat Wild' which must be a complete con for most of the stuff they promote/market etc. Ok I can accept that venison and a small proportion of game birds and duck are truely wild the vast majority must be reared game and can hardly be described as wild - so they are trying to con the public at the out set l think! Yes I know that once game birds are out of a pen they are legally classed as wild but still think the name of the organisation is a complete con.

An Am currently debating what to do, I have around 100 ITM/Hevishot shells left and had planned to take my permit until most or all had been used up. I planned not to rejoin my pheasant syndicate this season but that decision has been taken from me as the land owner has closed down the shooting to facilitate a barn conversion project in the middle of the shoot. Have been doing a bit of stalking but have been asked to shoot heavily pregnant does over the past few weeks, which although legal and in season does not sit ethically/morally well with me. Am now starting to think of dropping out of all live quarry this year and buying a decent sporter and stick to clays in the future.

My aged Harkilas got ripped beyond repair at the weekend and am looking for a new pair of shooting/stalking trousers. Any recommendations - there are a lot of new brands on the market that have not heard of. Budget not important for quality. TIA

This has been prepared in case there is or when there is a review of the quarry list and looks to be a good idea overall. We are almost unique in Europe not to have bag limits. Maybe reared mallard shooting and high volume inland decoying need and should be controlled to some degree.

Am sort of in the same position but with shooting reared game. Had my last syndicate day last weekend and no more, the cost and more importantly to me the ethics and morality of shooting reared game is no longer acceptable to me. Will continue to go fowling and stalking but will do a bit more clay shooting too and just enjoy walking in the countryside.

Was beating at a shoot on Saturday where a chap from BASC was a gun. He used Gamebore Blackstorm steel 5s and was killing birds just as well as those using lead loads.

Surely senior BACS staff have better things to do with their time than respond to the gripes and complaints of a minority of folk on here who seem to be obsessed with ancient history (eg John Swift) and the minority who use 410s etc. Maybe the moderators or admin need to intervene?
