  1. I've had some success using the Marksman ST2 system. Scores beforehand were 20-23/50. Latest scores were 29 / 36. You need to be near West Yorkshire, though :o(
  2. Sorry - I have to disagree with the timing - I've seen our local RFD write and type! Definitely takes longer than 2 minutes!!!
  3. I love a meat pie and mash as much as the next gal, but I have to say that sushi was a revelation. And if you lived in South East Asia, I think you'd find that you would be considered odd!!! I only tried it because I *had* to (well, it would be rude to turn down food that someone else has prepared for you) and now am hooked. It's just as carbohydrate filled as your proverbial pie and taties and can be adjusted with wasabi the same as you would with mustard. Just a different set of flavours (or not...think I may try a game version, possibly with some mustard as an alternative to wasabi)....anyone else any ideas for recipes?
  4. I have to say that I think £25 is reasonable considering that the sending RFD has to book in, notify the police on the transfer and arrange delivery. The receiving RFD should open the package and check the firearm, book it in and do the paperwork for the transfer out. TNT charge around £16 and they're the only ones who will carry firearms, so it depends whether your RFD is charging purely for the admin, or for the P&P as well. And this is for no profit on the gun for them, so if they're running a shop, it's distracting them from their core business so I think a little charge for the time spent is reasonable. *now prepares to get shot down in flames*
  5. I've made my own for years now. Love love love it with smoked mackerel, lightly fried pepper, cucumber and a bit of edam. Sashimi is raw fish and can be a part of a sushi platter or not - up to you! My daughters (7 and 4) love it both like that, or with just cheese, omelette, cucumber or tuna mayonnaise. Have made it with smoked salmon (OK, I did say you didn't HAVE to have raw fish!!!!) which was lush and also with spicy, garlicky fried mince beef. Supermarket own made is rubbish - get yourself a book / youtube video and get creative! Tesco do sell the "raw" ingredients - you'll need special sushi rice (otherwise it won't stick together), nori (seaweed paper) and fillings. You don't need a roll mat, although it does help with the shape of the finished roll. Wasabi and soy sauce (pref Shoyu) are good with the finished product, but don't drown it. Sorry - probably far too much info, but if you do want to try making your own, I'm more than happy to help. Was taught by a lovely South Korean lady who said that they have sushi instead of sandwiches there and we use it as a packed lunch every now and again as it's so tasty.
  6. Can't add much else to the lovely supportive posts above - but I am so sorry for your loss. It is a terrible thing to lose a child - we lost one at around the same sort of time, but did go on to have 2 healthy girls. I would second arjimlad's post above - it's important to make sure that each of you have time and space to deal with your own feelings as well as being there for each other.
  7. Thanks v much, highseas.....I think! I'll never have been so popular!
  8. Good to know...thanks, HDAV! Haven't come across them yet, but sure I will do, given time...
  9. Hey - and welcome! I'm new also - but really nice to see another gal on the forum...together with Auntie (100milesaway)! Should we start our own thread..."Gals with Guns", perhaps??!!
  10. Do enjoy going to Kelbrook and The Boar, the others I've shot at are club shoots. Crow Nest Park is at Wyke on farmland...something different every time!...Howden Clough at Batley are woodland based and the Flying Black Nines are moorland based...my personal favourite as the wind makes every clay a different presentation!
  11. Thanks Gordon. Have shot at Crow Nest, Kelbrook and The Boar (although slightly out of W Yorks), Flying Black Nines at Denholme and Howden Clough so far. Always up for a new shoot, though. Cheers for the welcome!
  12. Evening all! I am a (clay) pigeon shooter in W Yorks. I've about a year's experience - wish I could get more, but having children tends to get in the way of a Sunday morning outing! Just thought I'd say howdy as I've been cruising for a while, but not commented until now! Fran
  13. Well...November or not, I've been trying for years and not raised more than a little blonde fuzz....;oP
