  1. European Compak championship finished late yesterday afternoon with a good haul of trophies and medals for the Brits. I hope I don’t miss anybody out but here goes. Junior category winner ?? James Bradley-Day after a sudden death shoot off. ?? Ladies team won the bronze medals, men’s team were placed fourth. ?? Senior team (ex vets) won gold and ?? Glenn Hunt beat ??Tony Dean to the individual silver medal. In my catagory Vets(coffin dodgers) ??John Bidwell took the bronze medal after a three way shoot off on 25 awesome targets. I was fortunate enough to pick up a nice trophy for 4th place and as part of the ??GB team won a silver medal. A brilliant event in great weather (other than quite strong winds on the Saturday afternoon). Roll on this coming weekend and the mini North v South battle in The Netherlands.
  2. To be fair figgy, Cat got the cap, badge and tee shirt a lot earlier than me, I had to wait to become a coffin dodger before I got mine??
  3. I'm currently in Cyprus figgy as a GB team member in the veterans (was Supervet) class starting this afternoon shooting the European Compak championship. I was in the GB team last year for FITASC Sporting at the World Championship in Italy.
  4. When I shoot FITASC Sporting in Holland I buy whatever is available, but I do try to avoid Black Gold as I mustn't be as rich as Cat??. One thing I have noticed is the lack of shot size 9 which is a shot size that can be quite useful when shooting Compak so I'll be taking 4 or 5 boxes of White Gold 28g 9's and take pot luck with what's available in 7.5 for the rest. Thanks figgy, I'll certainly try my hardest. Can't insult the soft southerners too much as I'm getting a lift from him and don't want abandoning on the ferry! As for setting the targets differerently for steel shot. Some of the FITASC Sporting targets I've shot in Holland with steel have really been extreme, 60+ yards and I've seen them broken! not always the most devestating of breaks but still killed.
  5. South Cheshire Clay Shoot is about 1/2 mile from junction 16 of the M6.
  6. Thanks Norrie, PM replied to. SOLD pending the usual.
  7. Binoculars, brand new in box, never unwrapped. Can't remember why I bought them when I've a decent pair already! Cheapest I've seen them on t'interweb is £62 + P&P. Bargain at £37 incl. delivery via. Royal Mail.
  8. Great day, good weather, great organisation, fantastic bunch of people, challenging targets, super raffle prizes and we let the south win to avoid that trembling bottom lip that happens every year. We will be back to reclaim our rightful position... Mr Potter PS I have obviously passed on the raffle winning gene to Son of Potter who positively ravaged the prize table!
  9. Just had a last minute donation for the raffle. The wife has just given me a Nivea gift set (potions and lotions etc.) and said would this be any good as a prize? Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth I graciously accepted the said gift and it's in the car ready for the early start tomorrow morning. Mr Potter
  10. I won a raffle prize on Wednesday which I'll be donating to the PW shoot. A Top Gun Wellie Boot Bag.. Mr. Potter
  11. Confirmed that the two usual donations I bring are indeed now with me. From Catton Hall Shooting Ground http://www.cattonhall.co.uk/ donation of a voucher for a free entry (birds only) to one of their regular 100 bird shoots or maybe taken as 100 bird practise entry on any Wednesday. From John Beswick of Station Garage & Rainhill Cartridge Supplies (Rainhill Merseyside) a slab of Eley 30g, fibre wadded, shot size 6, Pigeon Select. I will put up a slightly used but nearly as new lofting kit. Full set of poles in a carrying bag, flocked decoys and hangers. Mr Potter
  12. When I get back from my forthcoming trip to Poland I am sure I'll be able to persuade Catton Hall Shooting Ground to donate a voucher for a free entry to one of their registered 100 bird shoots and John Beswick of Station Garage (Rainhill Cartridge Supplies) to donate a slab of cartridges. I will put up a slightly used but nearly as new lofting kit. Full set of poles in a carrying bag, flocked decoys and hangers. Mr Potter
  13. Going to need a much bigger horse than that.... Capt. Potter
  14. I've had my 2009 model for just 3 years and put 70,000 miles on in that time (currently reading 117,000). Other than brakes, tyres and services had very little wrong, rear wheel bearing and parking sensors. Brilliant car, highly recommended. Mr Potter
