  1. Just a thought but what is the deal with gun storage in a B&B? Do you leave it in your car or stick it under the bed? I'm assuming not many places have gun safes.
  2. I have had a CG Maxum Game 30' 12g for just over a year now, just finished my first season with my syndicate and I couldn't be more pleased. So 1+ for CG.
  3. It depends if you are happy getting a face load of **** every so often. I used to use a r/h semi until I got an eyeful of gunk one day and I was wearing safety specs. The other thing is that they often have a left hand cast making them more comfortable which in turn affects accuracy. I went for a left hand M2 and I haven't looked back.
  4. Try this. http://www.schmidtundbender.de/en/downloads/information/category/5-instruction-manuals.html
  5. Try Ian Hodges in Wadebridge, he has quite a good range of stock. http://www.ianhodgefieldsports.co.uk/shop/index.php
  6. My original coterminous application took eight months but they did say they had a backlog.
  7. Yesterday the nice lady on the phone said they are now doing new FAC applications in around three months.
  8. I sent my FAC off for a variation on the 26th September and I got it back today. They wouldn't had got it till the 27th and they sent it back 2nd class on Wednesday. I think a six day turn around is more than acceptable. So just like to say thanks Devon & Cornwall.
  9. Get a nightsight and have both, that's what I did.
  10. Nice to see some community sprit still exists. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/10304493/Revellers-repair-bent-bike-rack-after-night-out.html
  11. I had a pair, they lasted years until I fell over and ripped them (and my shin) on a log. The next pair didn't last a twelve month before the zip fell apart, two year guarantee though. They do come with a small can of spray something.
  12. I have a 1516 in .22 and a 452 in .17HMR. They were both second hand and both about the same money. They are both very similar to use performance wise though I found that I didnt get on well with the stock on the Annie as the pistrol grip was, for me, at an uncomfortable angle. I replaced the stock with one from Joe West and it has been transformed from a mediocre rifle in to one that is a pleasure to use. I think the trigger and action on the Annie is better quality but if I could only have one it would prolly be............................
  13. Is there something that you want to tell us?
  14. Sounds like Sabot to me. I thought they were the mutt's when I was a kid, I found an old box a few years ago and tried them through my AA S400. Five shoot group, all about 2' apart. Sorely disappointed. Black plastic tin, cog shaped lid, orange label, Sussex Arms I think. Got taken off the market owing to leagal issues iirc.
  15. Ignore the bit about water. If you shoot ducks and geese, no lead.
  16. I bought my .22 and my .17HMR from Ivythorn, very impressed I was too. They are both friendly and know their stuff and they have some lovely rifles. I just put down a deposit on a 202 Classic, I'll be interested in seeing the Aimzonic if they have one in .30 cal. What did you think of the new shooting shed? I haven't seen it yet.
  17. Poke it! That would had been my response. Sounds like the bloke is a right toerag, your daughter is better of out of there.

  19. Sorry lost intrest when I saw it was in the Guardian. I'm all for it, if it doesn't solve tb at least hedgehogs, ground nesters and hedgerow birds might have a look in for a while. To my mind badgers are just another top level predator given too much protection.
  20. I would say that the fit is prolly more important than brand, it could be the best gun in the world but if it doesn't fit you wont hit a thing. Where about in Cornwall are you? If you can manage a trip to Ladds Guns in Crediton you won't go far wrong. http://www.laddsguns.com They have a good range of new and second hand guns and the staff are very helpful. I have no ties with them but I will recommend good service. I was in there for a couple of hours and tried about a dozen guns from £900 upwards. I came away just with a very nice CG Maxum for not much more than your budget.
  21. Thanks Scully, I have the head but not the wherewithal to fit it. I was going to get Rodger at Rimfire Magic to do it when I bought the rifle but Sheila said they couldn't owing to not having a left handed jig.
  22. Hi All. I am looking for a gunsmith to put an oversized bolt knob on the bolt of my SPS Varmint. Trouble is it is a left handed bolt so not a standard operation, can anyone recommend a gunsmith who could do this? Thanks in advance
  23. Cheers for the replies. The handbook doesn't mention a diff lock. It would appear to have a limited diff on the front axle hence the RFW button and maybe an electronic diff lock on the rear axle, I'm still Googling it. I know about the RFW button that is used to put the vehicle back in to 2WD, it is useful as I don't have to get out to disengage the hubs like on my Landie. I have had the truck for about a year and I use it extensively for the sheep but this was the first time I have got it stuck enough to dig it out. I was quite surprised as I have four new General Grabbers on it, though 80 odd 5" fence posts prolly weigh a bit. Still it's not called the Wet Field for nothing.
  24. Hi All. I got my 04 Ranger stuck in some mud the other day. I had loaded it with far too many fence posts and with it's huge turning circle I ended up going too close to the boggy bit of my field. Well, the offside wheels sank in to the mud whilst the near side remained on dry land. With the gearbox in 4L the off side wheels just spun but the nearside wheels just stayed stationary. So, I couldn't find a diff lock button, either on the dash or in the handbook, does the car have an auto diff lock or does it not have one at all? if it does have an auto diff lock why did it not kick in when necessary? After removing the posts and with a bit of shovel work and some pushing we got it out ok, but i was a bit surprised by the lack of diff lock. Any ideas? Cheers
