  2. Fac guns are great i use myx2 on shoots where rimfires are not allowed. i have a mk-1 rapid.22 at 40fpe usung bis mag pellets this is very accurate with real wacking power my 2nd fac gun is also a rapid mk-2 .20 at 26fpe nv gun fitted with the N550 Pulsar Digi Nv Scope again deadly accurate with good impact power. whats important is not the power but the ACCURACY os shot placement. atb brian
  3. hi guys i use .25 bsa lightning for ratting it stops them dead , for bunniies i use a ben taylor .25 rapid @48fpe using 31 grn H&N Barracuda Pelletts at 830 fps fitted with a Dr Bob q/fill system on a 500cc bottle, i get 50 shots per fill its a devastating beast for bunnies no runners when this wacks them , its also very accurate , atb brian
  4. Hi steve i will have the warrener dvd,s pls atb brian
  5. My vote goes for the rapid, not that i am biased at alll owning a mk-2 .25@48fpe, my nv gun a mk-2 .22 @40fpe and just aquired a mk-1 .20 @24 fpe. all deadly accurate the .25 & .22 out to 75 yds + depending on conditions but that aside any modern fac pcp is genrally good for the job, good luck in your choice and enjoy. regds brian
  6. Hi adam great shooting ,just one piece of advice when gutting the rabbits use the cheap vinyl gloves like mechanics use these days they are cheap enough per 100, as rabbits can carry in their blood a viral desease that can effect us , i always wear glove when handling rabbits better safe than sorry, go for rimfires i shoot both 22LR amd .17 HMR great guns, as well as fac airguns and shotguns.atb brian
  7. Hi fireshot, infact fac guns of any calibre are difficult to sell because the market is so small and .177 fac very rarely comes up there is one at 30fpe on the bbs and it is just not moving. .25 calibre has grown in interest over the last 6 months and .20 fac is good as long as the power is around 24-28 fpe, fac air has its place where rimfires are not allowed because of land layout etc. atb brian
  8. Hi Gareth, The gun was was built by Ben Taylor in just over a week its fitted with his regulator and particle filter , size wise its a 16 in bsa ,25 barrel vhich may be changed to a lothar walther one shortly, its built to the same specs as the guy i mentioned Verminhunters gun , i have this gun because i have permissions where my rimfires are not allowed because of land layout , pellet supplies are no problem online are several suppliers i buy 10 tins at a time, Yes i shoot both .22lr and .17hmr rimfires and they have there uses, i also shoot NV with a 35fpe rapid.22 fac fitted with the n550 pulsar digital Nv Scope, and for pigeon control i use 12g shotguns, i am lucky to be able to shoot and own all calibres in different types of gun and love them all.!!!! atb Brian Ps, what ever gun Gareth you decide on i hope you enjoy as in the end its your decision.
  9. Anytime David , happy to help pls let me know your progress. atb brian
  10. Hi Gareth, i have a .25 rapid @48fpe or 825fps using H&N Barracuda 31grn pellets , its deadly accurrate out to 75 yds and hits very hard in deed you can get one direct from the theoben factory or like me have Ben Taylor build it , gareth if you want any info on ,25s if you are amember of the rapid owners forum or the airgun bbs forum a guy called verminhunter is an expert on the.25calibre ,the above power and pellet combination are the ultimate .25 settings for power with accuracy, which means accuracy is the no-1 thing, if you want any more info pls pm or email me. atb brian
  11. Hi David I belong to many forums mind you never know where i am hovering. atb Brian
  12. Hi David , You need to hold the gun in a gentle but firm grip do not rest on any hard service always rest the gun on the palm of your hand to cushion it , being consistant in your hold is the name of the game , for zeroing you can use a beanbag or suchlike as long as you cushion it in your hand and practise will improve your style, i have used springers for many years , and theoben gas rams i find are better due to the single recoil, i owned a .22 evolution for a year and it was the most accurate non pcp i have fired. by the way i am the owner of the eliminator you may be buying i am only selling it due to left elbow problems as a result of 45 years of all year round motorcycling and a few arguments with mother earth. atb brian--happyshooter
  13. I have used springers for a long time and have never seen a bipod used on one because of the recoil . the gun needs cushioning in the palm of your hand in a gentle hold, resting the gun on a hard surface will have your shots all over the place, but hey ho what do us old shooters know , its called experience!!!!, atb brian

  17. Hi hardtail. if you get the yukon MVMT 1x or the 2x24 monocular with the dsa you need a good laser ir illuminator the n800 from clive ward, i have this setup myself it works welli can see and shoot well out to airgun ranges and beyond ,if used for close range ratting a led ir illuminator is better , the nvmt nv is great value for the money the important thing is the IR illumination,if you need any furthert info pls feel free to pm me. atb brian

  19. hi sam, the s410 is a good choice of gun, i don,t think there are any really bad pcp,s around its really the way you use them, its the same about the .177 versus .22 argument its down to accuracy in the end, i have over the years killed all mannner of vermin with all calibres, so good luck and happy shooting. atb Brian
  20. hi guys i am just back from an evenings paddock shooting on my local shoot its a large manor house with 3 acres of paddocks with lots of copses , so the main problem being wood pigeons, bunnies, tree rats i was out tonight with my 12g remmy 1100 shotgun and my .22 verminator airgun ,.the object this evening was to catch woodies coming into sitty trees, so i sat under a tree i know to be used by quite a few woodiies its lightly leafed enough not to use the airgun so the shotgun is used not very sporting but this is a pest control job within 20 mins i heard cooing from above me i spotted 2 woodiies close together, so i fired between them resulting in a 1st for me 2x woodies with one no-6 cartridge that put a smile on my mush, i carried on here for another hour getting another 3x woodies, I then moved down to the front drive bunnies have been digging up the lady of the house,s flower beds, so i knew where the bunnies were coming from i set up about 20 yds away under a huge pine tree that has boughs right down to the ground, giving good cover, just sitting on my fishing stool with my .22 vermy. the 1st bunny appeared at 7-30pm, so i let it settle and 5 mins later 2x more came out, i let them all get feeding and quickly shot 2 of them with a jsb exact .22 pellet in the head, the other bunnie fled but came back 20 mins later amd joined his friends , in the next hour up to 8-35pm i got another 2x bunnies , another enjoyable evinings sport ,plus when i got home a1571 phone call a lady in a nearby village with a big rat problem around her free range chickens can i help, i,ll leave you to work out the answer to that request. atvb brian
  21. Hi Peek, i own a s400 fac extra.22 at 32fpe i use logun penetrator pellets at 20gr with great success ,very accurate and hard hitting. regds brian
  22. hi ajb, you should not use a bipod with a springer because of the recoil a springer needs to be cushioned by your hand in a lighthold under the stock, i use a monopod as i have described, resting a springer on any hard surface without cushioning with your hand will result in loss of accuracy, also make sure you follow through ie keep the barrel on target until pellet strikes the target, any help needed pls feel free to pm me. atb brian
