  1. Stayed at Applecross a few times and you must go to the Applecross Inn - langoustines and Red Cuillan beer - fantastic :-) A cracking walk is along the ridge that runs parallel to the road round to the Inn great views and good path all the way. Longish walk but not too much of a slog to get up to it
  2. After about a year of scouring the country for a 32" MC Daytona I managed to track a good one down near my old haunts in Lincolnshire. I have owned it for about a year now and they are everything everyone has already said. Took me a while to make the change from my Browning though as the handling was much quicker so had to slow my swing down a lot! My only warning is about the trigger group, make sure that it is working correctly ie cycling after firing first barrel. The drop out trigger group is an impressive piece of engineering but some are flakey and from I have been told not many know how to fix them. Mine is 10 year old gun and is fine, but I had to return 2 others from elsewhere which had this issue despite being given assurances they had no foibles! IMHO they are every bit a high quality guns as Perazzi and Kemen and new today are a 10k gun and probably worth every penny of that if you can afford one, just don't hold their price for some daft reason or another. If you search the site you'll find some of my enquiries at the time, when I got good advice from Gordon R amongst others. I was severely tempted also by the same Gun that Gordon referred to but the cabinet is already full at the moment :-) Hope that helps a little and make sure to take time to find the right one, it will come along eventually. As I said I had money buring a hole for nearly a year before finding the right one :-)
  3. Or here; http://www.oilcareers.com/uk/?gclid=CMyRxPDw67gCFafLtAodFBAAjQ You might find it difficult to get out at first unless you're a time served sparky or mechanic etc. you could consider putting yourself through the RGIT course (google it and it will tell all) and start at the bottom as a roustabout or as a steward to get the rig experience. One thing I'll say about the oil industry is that it is possible to get on without high level qualifications if you show a willingness to work hard and have an aptitude for your job, oh and make best friends with The company man or rig manager :-)
  4. Could it have been Jonny Kwango? Didn't he used to do a flying head butt as his signature move?Used to get to stay up late on a Wednesday night to watch the mid-week wresting on Anglia telly.
  5. Nowt - on private well supply and a sceptic tank so no yearly bills. Just change the particle filters once a year on the water for about 25quid.
  6. Happy Birthday from the frozen North Tam
  7. Here is an idea lets commit mass genocide on the poor, who are not of anglo saxon origin and that will solve everything in the world. There really are some pillocks on here !!!
  8. Tiswas - best kids tv of all time - no question
  9. I used to regularly for work a number of year ago and because of corporate rates stay at the Sheraton in Sousse. Can thoroughly recommend the El Djem Amphitheatre at Hammam Sousse, incredible building. Trips out to the islands was always popular too. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits there - ancient history everywhere. Be prepared for a battle, sorry barter to buy anything though :-). Never spent much time in Tunis as work was down near the Libyan border so i was always in transit. Only other thing I can say is if you drive then be prepared to dodge lorries on your side of the road and sheep driving mobylette's :-) Finally I believe it's still a restricted currency so you need to change money entering and leaving the airport check-in. make sure you keep some dinar back though as they don't take it from you until you enter the boarding lounge. I've seen no end of people trying to scrape enough loose change together to pay it 'cos they've exchanged all there dosh back to punts! Hope that helps a little Sorry meant to add this link from goggle http://etravel.org/places/africa/tunisia/sousse/

    Duck !!

Was trolling the sun site and came across this - That was some strike lucky it wasn't a fish on or he'd have its head in his gob too :-) http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4796133/Hook-line-n-stinger-as-weight-smashes-into-anglers-cheek.html
  11. Of more interest in that article is the graph showing the murder rate per 100k of people in "developed" countries. Uk is 2nd lowest @ 0.1 but only includes Wales & England U.S. @ 3.2 - to me it shows that legal gun ownership in the UK is as safe as ever but is it statistics, lies & damned lies? Any opinions?
  12. Nope i'm sorry to say it closed down a few years ago - pity, as it was 10mins down the road from me and had great layouts. Closest grounds now for us around Aberdeen are Seals Cove on the Southern outskirts of Aberdeen (only open Friday afternoons, and all day Saturday's and Sundays), Dell Glenlivet near Dufftown and Auchterhouse down at Dundee. Can thoroughly recommend all 3 grounds and if you like a challenge the The Dell is the place !! Hope that helps
  13. That'll do nicely for me too Tam :-) And the Dufftown road may be clear of snow by then too :-)
  14. For those of you of an age to remember some sad news. for you youngsters, Wilko was a member of one of the best bands I have ever had the pleasure of seeing live in the mid-70's and later. I last saw him play in Aberdeen last year - still an absolute madman!! By some miracle i Hope he is able to carry on for a long time yet. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20956351
