  1. I don't agree with much that the originator said despite owning a gas ram. Mostly because his knowledge (?) of how the springers power degrades over time if ridiculous. But I have to also counter some others arguments about a gas ram being a waste of money over a pcp. Yes youve correctly identified that you could buy a S200 for the price of a gas ram rifle. But, as I've said many times, you cant get the charging equipment as well. That's where the difference is. Never owned a hunting powered springer but most of the good ones seem to be around the price I got my gas ram, albeit it second hand. I probably wont part with this rifle. Its perfect for my needs as I can pick it up after months of inactivity and go shooting. No need to fill up a diving bottle or pump it up. Same deal with a springer of course. Like I say I really dont know what the comparitive recoil and surge are like or how accurate either are compared to each other.
  2. Only asking because I couldn't confidently hit a barn door with a pistol at that range. Fair play to you! I used to own a 2260 the workings of which are almost identical, which leads me to wonder if the 2260 is higher than 6 ft lb.
  3. Have you ever watched you've been framed!!! Your asking for trouble with that plastic chair Personally I lie or sit on the ground.
  4. I suspect your right. So it is not a true representation of the whole of the airgun hunting world. Also I suspect the majority of the no camp will simply not vote...
  5. Quite a sporty shot with a pistol! What range was that at?
  6. Nope. Where I shoot most frequently I load the rifle and set out at one of the optimum points of my hunt. Would love to check at home but a gun shy dog makes that a difficulty. If I miss a couple of shots I might have a quick test, depends how frustrated I get. I miss more sitters than snap shots so for me the logic behind setting up a target at 30m and going prone and firing a test group is flawed. A good poll but I fear your only getting meaningful responses from the yes camp.
  7. They are nice accurate and hard wearing rifles. I don't like to admit it but mine hasnt seen a service in the 3-4 years since I've had it and I doubt I did before tbh. Never been ratting so cant really say but it sounds quite loud as does the reloading sequence. However I have on numerous occasions fired and then reloaded strutting round the corner 5 ms away, thinking that it would be clear, to be confronted by a field of intrigued bunnies. Maybe t just sounds loud after creeping through the woods. Like I say cant comment on ratting but great for rabbits and squirrels. Perfect for my uses but I will also admit a lack of money for a cylinder or pump led me down this route. Any questions pm me I will be glad to help.
  8. Retromic - ah so thats your problem, he is new he knows nothing... I might add that this gent may be new to the forum but could well have more experience than many people on here. There is nothing wrong with what he says so why complain?
  9. Cant even find anyone round here that will just look at mine and add lube...
  10. Ha didn't want to be over confident and couldn't be bothered to search through all the back copies either!!! So in short fisherman mike unless you are on the worlds longest bunny stake out you should be safe
  11. I'm pretty sure technical airgun in airgun world did a test and found no real detriment after leaving the rifle cocked for weeks. I think on that basis 15 minutes shouldn't be a bother.
  12. I have experimented with shooting sticks in the past and find they are a bit to much of a faff. They are also quite difficult to support. Going to go and practice just getting into the kneeling position
  13. Thanks for the replies especially the video. I will be practicing the sitting one for sure! That kneeling position he does though... Yeah I keep trying to get their but maybe I'm just not flexible enough :(
